Seeking a new purpose, he discovers the world of Earthland, home to the Fairy Tail guild, where a young girl’s sorrow and determination capture his attention. Five-year-old Lucy Heartfilia’s world is shattered when her parents are brutally murdered before her eyes. Swearing vengeance against their killers, she is left alone and grieving, clutching a locket and a burning promise. Drawn by her fierce resolve and the deviation from the usual timeline, Rimuru decides to train Lucy, sensing her immense potential. Under Rimuru's guidance, Lucy learns to harness her celestial magic and the rare and powerful void dragon magic. Together, they embark on a journey of growth and discovery, with Lucy mastering unique skills that blend beauty and destruction. As she becomes stronger, Lucy prepares to face her parents' killers, driven not only by revenge but also by the hope for a better future.
"A million years... seriously?" Rimuru groaned, flopping onto a cloud. "I swear, if I have to watch one more cosmic event, I'll turn into a slime-shaped couch cushion." He flicked through dimensions, a bored sigh escaping his lips. "Anything... ANYTHING... interesting?"
Then, his eyes widened. "Earthland?! Fairy Tail?! Wait, hold on a minute..." A jolt of recognition struck him. "Lucy Heartfilia? But... that's not how it's supposed to happen!"
The Heartfilia mansion, a symbol of wealth that seemed to mock the emptiness inside, echoed with the bright sound of a child's laughter. Little Lucy, her five-year-old heart overflowing with joy, chased after a shimmering butterfly.
"Mama! Papa! Look!" she cried, her eyes sparkling like the gems adorning her dress.
Layla and Jude watched, their smiles radiating warmth. Layla's hand rested gently on Jude's arm. "She's so precious," she whispered, her voice filled with love.
"Just like her mother," Jude replied, his eyes filled with adoration.
Suddenly, the air grew heavy, a chilling premonition settling over the garden. Lucy's laughter died down, replaced by a fearful silence.
"Layla..." Jude's voice was low, his hand instinctively moving to the hilt of his sword.
"Something's terribly wrong," Layla whispered, her eyes wide with fear. She quickly unclasped a locket from her neck and pressed it into Lucy's trembling hands. "Lucy, darling, listen to me. Stay here. Don't make a sound, no matter what happens."
"Mama, what's going on?" Lucy asked, her voice trembling, tears welling up in her eyes.
"Just... hide, sweetheart," Layla said, her voice strained. "We'll be right back."
They rushed into the mansion, leaving Lucy alone, her small body shaking with fear. She peered through the window, her heart pounding against her ribs.
"How dare you trespass?!" Jude roared, his voice filled with righteous anger.
"Your wealth is meaningless!" a cruel voice sneered, followed by a chilling laugh. "You'll pay for your arrogance!"
"Papa!" Lucy screamed, her tiny fists pounding against the glass. "No!"
The fight was brutal, a whirlwind of steel and dark magic. Jude fought with all his might, but he was outnumbered and outmatched. He fell to his knees, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"Jude!" Layla cried, rushing to his side, her voice filled with despair.
"Too late," the scarred leader sneered, raising his hand. A dark energy engulfed Layla, her eyes dimming, her body collapsing to the floor.
Lucy's breath hitched, her hands flying to her mouth, stifling a scream. "Mama... Papa..." Her tears streamed down her face, blurring her vision.
The intruders ransacked the house, their voices echoing through the halls. "Find everything! Leave nothing!"
They missed her, the small, trembling child hidden in the garden. Once they were gone, Lucy stumbled into the mansion, her heart shattered into a million pieces.
"Mama... Papa..." she whispered, her voice broken and raw. She knelt beside her mother's lifeless body, her small hand reaching out to touch Layla's cold cheek. "I... I won't forget. I'll find them. I'll make them pay for what they did to you!"
Rimuru, still reeling from the shock, felt a wave of raw, unfiltered pain. "No way," he muttered, his voice laced with disbelief. "This isn't how it's supposed to go! Lucy... her parents... dead?"
He remembered his past life as Mikami Satoru, the otaku who loved Fairy Tail. "Lucy was always my favorite... and this?! This isn't in the original storyline!" He felt a surge of anger, a protective instinct kicking in. "I can't let this happen."
He materialized in the garden, his eyes landing on Lucy's tear-streaked face. "Lucy," he said softly, his voice filled with compassion.
Lucy looked up, her eyes red and swollen. "Who... who are you?" she asked, her voice barely a whisper.
"Rimuru Tempest," he replied, kneeling beside her. "I know what happened. I saw it."
"They... they killed them," she sobbed, clutching the locket. "I'll make them pay!"
"Revenge is a heavy burden, Lucy," Rimuru said gently. "But... what if I could help you? What if I could give you the power to protect yourself, to make sure this never happens again?"
Lucy's eyes widened, a flicker of hope amidst the despair. "Help me? How?"
"I'll train you," Rimuru said, his voice firm. "I'll give you the strength to face anything. And maybe, just maybe, you'll find a path beyond revenge." He smiled, a genuine, warm smile that reached his eyes. "Because, Lucy, you deserve a better future."
Lucy looked at him, her eyes filled with a mix of grief and determination. "Yes," she said, her voice firm. "I'll do it."
"Alright then," Rimuru said, his voice filled with a newfound purpose. "Let's get started. And don't worry, Lucy. I won't let you down."
