In the corridor of the lobby at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Madchen Amick was waiting for Arthur, who had gone to the restroom.
Suddenly, Hollywood actor Charlie Sheen approached Madchen Amick and greeted her, "Good evening, beautiful girl!"
"Oh, good evening," Madchen Amick was slightly stunned when she saw him, then recognized him, "You are Mr. Charlie Sheen!"
Charlie Sheen, 26 years old at the time, came from a family of actors. His father was Martin Sheen, and he himself had become a big star due to his roles in films like Platoon and Wall Street.
This summer, Charlie Sheen starred in the parody comedy Hot Shots! which was a big hit both critically and commercially.
Charlie Sheen smiled, "Can I buy you a drink? And I have a bottle of aged whisky at home, would you like to try it?"
Madchen Amick certainly understood what he meant and politely shook her head, "I am waiting for my friend, sorry!"
"Well then, could I ask what you do?"
"I am also an actress," Madchen Amick responded.
"Oh, an actress," Charlie Sheen thought it would be easier this way.
"So, may I know your name..." Before Charlie Sheen could finish his sentence, he heard a lazy voice, "Change your target, kid!"
Arthur walked over, put his arm around Madchen Amick's waist, and said to Charlie Sheen with a smile, "Let me tell you, her name is Madchen Amick!"
"Ah, Mr. Arthur Smith, I didn't expect to meet you here. Good evening," Charlie Sheen obviously recognized Arthur Smith. After Dances with Wolves won the Oscar for Best Picture, there was a lot of news about Arthur Smith.
Now, Arthur Smith was the sole owner of Galaxy Orion. Given that Charlie Sheen was one of Hollywood's rising stars, how could he not know Arthur Smith?
Arthur glanced at Charlie Sheen again, "No need for the drink," he then kissed Madchen Amick and left the Four Seasons Hotel with her.
Charlie Sheen's life was filled with sex and drugs, and he was extremely morally corrupt.
Arthur took Madchen Amick back to his Bel-Air villa. Thinking about Charlie Sheen, he still felt a bit scared, since in Arthur's memory, Charlie Sheen would contract AIDS.
But it was only 1991, and Charlie Sheen probably hadn't been infected that early, right?
On Monday morning, Arthur was in his office at Galaxy, sorting through scripts, when Nicole Kidman arrived!
"Yo, back from vacation in Australia?" Arthur pulled Nicole Kidman into his lap.
"Mm," Nicole Kidman hugged Arthur and started kissing him. After a kiss, she spoke a bit wistfully, "I was afraid you would forget about me if I didn't come back."
"Congratulations on the successful box office of Scream!"
Nicole Kidman glanced at Arthur while talking. Galaxy had several projects this year, and they had even collaborated with Tom Cruise on a movie.
"Come on, how could I forget you," Arthur stroked Nicole Kidman's thigh, "The Venice Film Festival is over, and next, To Die For will be screened at the Telluride Film Festival in Colorado and the Toronto Film Festival. You see, I've put in some effort to get you an award, scheduling so many screenings and promotions!"
"Will you go?" Nicole Kidman reminded him, "There could be some hidden gems at these festivals that haven't been discovered. With your keen eye, it would be easier to spot them."
Arthur smiled, "I have too much on my plate. A Few Good Men is starting production at the end of the month, and the preparations for Scent of a Woman are almost done!"
Also, Emma was to start filming in the UK in mid-month, and Galaxy had Steven Spielberg's project Schindler's List. They had also recently invested in The Shawshank Redemption.
At that moment, the Telluride Film Festival and the Toronto Film Festival weren't that significant to Arthur; it was hard to find good, unclaimed films there.
Arthur's focus was on the Sundance Film Festival domestically, and internationally, it was on the Cannes Film Festival, with the Venice Film Festival as secondary.
"By the way, are you still living in Long Beach? Don't you find it a bit far?" Arthur leaned in and suggested to Nicole Kidman,
"Move closer here, it's nearer!"
Nicole Kidman laughed, "I think Long Beach is quite nice!"
Saying this, Nicole hugged Arthur's neck and whispered, "When you want me, you can just come over, or I can come to you."
"You know, if we spend too much time together, we would get bored. If I stay with you all the time, you'll lose interest quickly!"
"Your way of thinking," Arthur actually found it quite reasonable. "Alright, whatever you want."
Nicole Kidman nodded, "It's been so long since you've seen me; haven't you missed me?"
"What do you think?" Arthur reached into Nicole Kidman's shirt, touching the softness, "Tonight, let's go straight to the Beverly Hills hillside mansion, which I recently bought!"
Nicole Kidman tilted her head back, breathing deeply, and kissed Arthur, "Don't leave for the next few days, stay with me more, okay?"
"No problem," Arthur agreed, of course!
"Ring ring ring," at that moment, the phone on the table rang, and Arthur reluctantly pulled his hand back to answer it.
"Is this Mr. Arthur Smith?"
A voice came from the phone.
"Yes, this is Arthur Smith," Arthur said, holding Nicole Kidman in his arms and listening to the call.
"Oh, this is Stan Lee from Marvel. I called to ask if Galaxy is interested in developing superhero movies?"
"Stan Lee, Marvel's Creative Director?" Arthur was intrigued and patted Nicole Kidman, who was kissing his neck.
Nicole Kidman smiled, got off Arthur's lap, and knelt on the ground.
"Yes, are you interested?"
"I am somewhat interested in Spider-Man," Arthur leaned back in his chair, taking a deep breath.
"Really? Would Galaxy be willing to make a Spider-Man movie?" Stan Lee sounded excited on the phone.
Arthur felt there must have been some turmoil in Marvel, "Mr. Stan Lee, why don't you come to Galaxy, and we can have a proper discussion? I've loved Spider-Man since I was a kid!"
While saying this, Arthur's other hand naturally went to Nicole Kidman's hair.
"Is Wednesday morning okay?"
"Sure," Arthur had no problem. He needed to find out what was happening at Marvel. Hadn't they already gone public?
"See you Wednesday then, have a great day!"
"Goodbye," Arthur hung up the phone and focused on Nicole Kidman again.
