Home Sweet Home

"Come on, Cymbeline. Let's go."

The midget announced as he grabbed her by the arm and pulled her away from the older male, who continued to gaze at her with admiration.

Cymbeline couldn't help being dumbfounded at Keegan's persistence in always avoiding the handsome Alpha.

It was quite amusing how overprotective his tiny presence could be, yet his actions seemed pointless in her opinion.

After all, she's pretending to be an Alpha. An unattractive and scrawny male. The opposite of what alphas tried courting.

"Riiight."

She played along as she chuckled.

She observed Keegan as he attempted to force her to follow his footsteps at walking away without batting another eye at his nemesis.

However, she was physically stronger than him and he could only struggle to pull her as she stood in the same spot.

Before they knew it, the attractive alien spoke and had an unwavering expression on his perfect face. Prior to her even getting the chance to say her goodbyes.

"Hey, Cymbeline? You don't mind if I walk you back?"

In a speed of light, the midget beat her to it and spoke on her behalf.

"Fuck no."

The boy leered, but quickly hissed when she smacked him and covered his mouth with her hand.

"Umm.. it's fine. I'm sure you're quite the busy guy, right? There's no nee—"

"I-I mean.. I'm actually headed over to your guy's neighborhood for surveillance anyway, so I was only suggesting we'd walk together. Plus, it'll help prevent you from interacting with any of the other guards."

The stunning male quickly recovered from getting rejected as he sweetly smiled at her and ignored the intense death stare of the little guard dog beside her.

At the news, she paused. A shiver arose from her lower back as she slightly tightened her hold around the midget.

Keegan quickly took notice of it and only stared at her before she spoke in a monotone voice.

"Of course, but surveillance at our neighborhood? What for? Somethin' happen?"

Cymbeline asked, hiding the nervous state behind her nonchalant facade.

'They couldn't have caught suspicion of somebody negotiating with a dealer, right?'

"We're not usually allowed to say the reasoning behind certain patrol calls, but you're an exception. At least, to me you are, so..."

Ziven admitted and winked at her in a joking manner as he paused midway through his words.

Before he revealed the explanation, he carefully took a few steps forward and leaned at the side of her face to ensure only she would hear.

To his delight, there was a huge size difference between them.

"Apparently, there has been some sort of commotion around the area because of some wannabe thugs."

He informed as she processed the information. Not minding how close he was. Nor how the midget was being squashed by them.

At their proximity, Keegan escaped from her grip and attempted to shove the guy away.

"Hey! You're too close! Back off my bro!"

He hissed and made sure he put some distance between them and the male.

He didn't like how the older Alpha always looked at his big sister. A gaze of someone who wanted to be more than just friends with her. The same stare the other conniving alphas tried to conceal.

Although the guard before him wasn't as repulsive and hateful as those bastards. Only dislikable to the eye.

"What for? Were they looking for something? Or someone specific? Did they say why?"

Cymbeline interrogated without a caution if the male would raise an eyebrow at the multiple questions being thrown at him. The concern and thought of being caught negotiating with the dealer simply vanished.

Now, she could only think about the two women waiting back home being in any danger because of foolish, greedy no-lives.

"Don't worry. Your family is safe from the chaos those idiots tried causing."

Ziven assured, and looked at her softly before speaking again.

"They were only demanding the galaxy's headquarters for more benefits. Privileges the high-class have and wealth that we both know they'll use for. They wanted to cause a riot."

He advised as he noticed Cymbeline's shoulders relaxing with the information he provided.

He found the pretty Alpha highly precious.

'Thank Astraea that they're both safe and sound. Greedy fuckers out here ruining shit for us.'

For instances like this, Cymbeline was grateful to the galaxy warriors for their service. A rare gratitude she has for those self-centered pricks.

Releasing a teensy sigh from her heart-shaped lips, she took another look at the Alpha and observed his impeccable beauty.

An attractive Alpha respected by many of his peers and everywhere he dashed upon.

Although Cymbeline found it strange. The Alpha is treated like top-notch royalty by his peers. Even when he freshly came to Earth as a newly trained guard. A complete noob at his job.

It's as if they knew who the male was and are aware of the ascendancy he holds beyond the outskirts of Earth. Information she rather not investigate and be nosy about. Willingly choosing to be oblivious to his origin.

Besides, knowing the minor details about him, such as the Alpha, is from a planet far from Earth. A mysterious planet she has yet to discover or figure out where he's from.

Respectfully, she doesn't question him or insist him to reveal anything about his personal life. An unspoken agreement on both parts of their ends. A mutual respect and decency to not pry into each other's private affairs.

In a swift motion, her eyes wandered over his face. The flawless genes he inherited from his extraterrestrial parents.

The wavy silver-blue hair that looks like expensive silk and his yellow orbs beholding a galaxy in them. Don't even get her started with the heavenly facial structure.

The sharp jawline and straight pointed nose. The natural narrow and thick eyebrows. His face is perfect. Worthy of being framed as a portrait or made into a statue to worship.

His big muscular physique adding a dazzling finishing touch to his remarkable appearance.

"Shit. You're too gorgeous. It should be a fucking crime."

She blurted out with frankness and zero sense shame at the Alpha. Her expression was nonchalant and unbothered.

Truthfully, Cymbeline thought she said it inside her head and not out loud.

In a snap, she was brought back to life as her big violet eyes made eye-contact with dazzling gold ones. She didn't realize how long she'd been staring at him until he called out her name.

"C-Cymbeline.."

Ziven stuttered in a quiet voice. The Alpha's cheeks were pinkish as his eyes avoided her gaze, shyly.

'Fuck... I sound like a horny pervert! What was I thinking!?'

Quickly, she apologized with a hand rubbing the black choker on her fair neck, hidden beneath her hoodie. A gesture of awkwardness.

"Sorry, Ziven. I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable by saying something... unpleasant or offensive."

Hearing this, the handsome Alpha's eyes expanded as he immediately shook his head sideways.

"N-Not at all, Cymbeline! I'm just shocked by—"

"Can we leave now? I'm hungry and dying from this excruciating heat."

The midget interrupted in snappy tone. He didn't even let the male finish his sentence as he pointed daggers his way.

Cymbeline plainly stared at Keegan's rudeness, yet the Alpha didn't seem to mind the brat's behavior. He simply agreed to his suggestion.

"He's right. We should leave before the others get suspicious of our long absence."

Just like that, his shy demeanor changed into a serious and firm one. It amused her how he effortlessly switched to his guard mode.

Fulfilling his duty like no other. The outcome and extortion of the galaxy's military training system being effective.

Something she wouldn't ever let those alien fuckers see. Or force out of her if she were to volunteer as a warrior.

'Wouldn't ever be me. Not even in my deathbed.'

"Tsk. You're right. If not they'll be up our asses for taking too long."

Cymbeline scoffed at the idea.

It was known that being absent for a long period of time would cause suspicion against the warriors, who guard the perimeter of their home base.

Especially if one of their base's people were missing.

Usually, a citizen of the base must ask for permission to leave. Their departure being recorded into the system, so they know who and when someone leaves.

However, Cymbeline would sneak out each time she went out to handle her 'business'. Securing nobody was tagging along or knew of her whereabouts.

The rare times she wouldn't sneak out were when the occasion was unimportant. A non trivial and bothersome matter unlike her tactful field of work or the need to buy pills.

It was annoying as fuck, but the people adapted to it. A normal procedure for their everyday life.

Thankfully, Ziven led them by going in front of them as they followed behind. Acting as if the two were with him the entire time. A perfect tactic to hide any sense of suspicion.

Hearing the whispering tone from the midget beside her, Cymbeline slightly leaned her head sideways in his direction as he spoke.

"Cymbeline, can I drop kick him?"

The pep-squeak had a mischievous grin when he asked for her permission. She could easily read through his wickedness.

Clearly, he was plotting an attack against the back of Ziven's knees, which would cause his legs to bend and make him fall backwards.

One of the oldest tricks in the book.

"Don't be mean, Keegan. He's your senior Alpha. Show your respect. Or at least, have some decency for the poor guy."

Cymbeline chided as she swiftly glanced at the midget's direction. He was sulking. Causing his cheeks to become rounder than usual.

Luckily for him, she held back from wanting to pinch his chubby cheeks. Unlike the brat, she had decency.

"You're no fun."

He pouts with a puff while they neared the civilization of their base.

Swiftly, Cymbeline's expression changed into a cold and unfriendly one. She eyed the alphas as they stared at them with hostility and caution.

Nonchalantly, she swung an arm around Keegan's shoulder and brought him closer.

Her action signifying he's part of her pack. Rubbing her 'Alpha' scent on him.

Alphas here weren't friendly or kind to each other. Everyone on their own. Only taking care of their pack or their selves and no one else. Unless they owed an Alpha a favor.

Many would think a fallen planet would unite the alphas after the tragedy of their home, but it was the opposite. The alphas on Earth always fought for their share of supplies and support from the galaxy's government.

Greedy and selfish to take what isn't theirs. Their pride impeding being of any help to rebuild the planet.

It didn't help that most women here were afraid of the adult alphas. Afraid of those who weren't a part of their forced pack. Mainly, the unmated alphas. Whether you're raised on Earth or came from a different planet.

It's the reason there weren't many omegas in sight, only a small handful. Most staying inside their homes for protection and safety. Some waiting like good obedient omegas for their uncaring Alpha(s).

'Motherfuckers.'

As Cymbeline's violet iris scanned the area, her eyes met with a couple of omegas here and there. Noticing the flush of their cheeks and the flirty wave towards her whenever they reached a different block.

Unusual circumstances where the omegas didn't falter at her mere presence and appearance as an Alpha, along with Ziven and a few others.

That's only because she was kind to them. Never mistreating and belittling them. Nor giving the pitiful omegas signs of any involvement with them. Never taking advantage of her position as an Alpha.

However, little do they know, she's just like them. An omega who's just as afraid of being taken advantage of by various alphas.

"Look who's back? It's pretty boy, Cymbeline. Welcome back to home sweet home, pretty boy."

"You think you're better than us, huh? Because the omegas want your scrawny cock?"

Two alphas hissed and jeered as the three passed by them. Keegan only glared back as Ziven did the same before telling them to quiet down with his alpha command.

There were various remarks aimed at her whenever she returned. A warm welcome and a norm for her. Clearly, the unmated alphas had bitter and spiteful feelings toward her.

Finding her a threat because of pure jealousy, but that was just how things were around here now. No longer the peaceful and friendly environment she once remembered as a child.

'Yeah, right. Home sweet home my fucking ass.'

If you cuties are curious how Ziven looks like, you can see a pic of him on my Wattpad (-BUBBEE0_0) for this chapter! Have a lovely day! <33
