39. Slipping Through My Fingers.

Wulfe sat on the edge of the plush bed, his gaze fixed upon the slumbering woman before him. Soft moonlight bathed the room, casting a gentle glow upon her delicate features. As he reached out, his fingertips brushed against her smooth forehead, carefully tucking a stray strand of hair behind her ear. The room was filled with a serene stillness, broken only by the rhythmic sound of her peaceful breathing.

In that moment, a profound love, unlike any he had ever known, coursed through Wulfe's being. It was a love that transcended time and space, mending the wounds that had haunted him for years. He had always underestimated the power of love, especially when it came to himself. In the past, he had harnessed its essence in his spells, using it as a hidden door to destiny. He, in a way, was a cupid, orchestrating the fates of couples destined to be together. But love did not always prevail, and he knew that all too well.

But with Mimi, it was different. As he tenderly stroked her hair, he marveled at her youthfulness, yet understood the weight of her past and the challenges that awaited her in the future. Uncertainty loomed, but Mimi's true happiness lay ahead if his mother's visions were to be believed. Wulfe, the son of Bridgette, knew he could never reveal his true identity to Mimi. He had been created to be a vessel of good, but even the most virtuous souls could be tempted astray.

Yet, Mimi had been his guiding light, leading him to the right path. He had discovered his true heritage long after his human days, having only met his mother briefly. It was a twist of fate that prevented them from being together, but she had given him the gift of magic. He was a powerful being, and he liked to believe that he was meant for Mimi. He adored her, not only as a deity but as a person he knew intimately. He was committed to keeping her safe, even if it meant occasionally provoking her anger. Seeing her fiery temperament was amusing, a reminder of the importance of expressing one's emotions after years of suppression. Wulfe relished his role as her teacher.

And now, with two other students under his wing, he relished the thought of imparting lessons upon them. Soon, they would experience a transformative revelation, a presentation of what he would bring into Mimi's life. Though they would undoubtedly face their own obstacles, Wulfe would show the pack that he would always be there for her, until his very last breath. Whether or not he would reveal his true identity and his connection to his mother, only time would reveal.

Stepping away from the bed, Wulfe knew Mimi would sleep peacefully for another eight hours, courtesy of a gentle sleeping spell he had added to her potion. She had been deprived of rest for too long, and it was only fitting to grant her a respite filled with blissful dreams. As he left the room, he felt a sense of determination, ready to make final preparations and ensure that everyone was ready.

Wulfe entered the portal room, filled with anticipation. The room hummed with activity as Alaric, Murdock, Dexter, Colin, and Magnum worked diligently to ensure everything went according to plan. Wulfe moved around the room, casting small spells in strategic places, infusing the air with an air of enchantment. As he did so, he couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement for what was about to unfold. This Thanksgiving would be unlike any other, as it would be spent with his beloved unicorn and their newfound family. It was a surprise that would leave them all in awe.

But this surprise held a deeper purpose. Wulfe wanted to show not only Mimi but also the pack how she should be treated, and how her needs and feelings deserved to be acknowledged and cherished. Over the years, Mimi had confided in Wulfe, sharing the heartbreaking experiences of the pack's indifference towards her. It was time for a change, and now they would witness it firsthand. Wulfe knew that when they saw Mimi's joy and love, perhaps they would gain insight into what she truly deserved.

This plan had been in the works for some time, a collaborative effort between Wulfe, Murdock, Dexter, Magnum, Colin, and even Alaric, who had been let in on the secret. It wasn't just a one-time event; they were determined to infuse Mimi's life with more of these precious moments. The scent of anticipation filled the air as they prepared to bring happiness and warmth into Mimi's life.

I woke up, my eyelids heavy and my body sluggish. As I slowly moved, the ache in my hip reminded me of the position I had been in for far too long. I hadn't budged from that spot since falling asleep. Memories flooded my groggy mind, reminiscing about the good times Wulfe and I shared.

It was back when I had finally defeated Damien and I had kind of vanished, leaving nothing but ashes to my former self. My emotions had been consumed by hatred, and Damon and the others despised me for it. Charles, Adam, and the boys were all angry with me. I had taken a "holiday" of sorts, unsure if I would ever return. Wulfe had been my proxy, relaying mysterious messages that stirred something within me. He had made me feel again and start to live. He had made me see that I had done the right thing.

Almost a year later, I found myself back within the pack, where I was needed. I had no idea what that was until I became pregnant with a set of babies. Damon had tried to conceive with Mariella, but my alpha power made me the chosen one. It was a lonely time, as the pack had left when Mariella became pregnant. However, I had stocked up on supplies, and Wulfe, Colin, and Magnum were there for me. Damon, though, was absent. I had been pregnant with our very first babies, and time should have brought us back together, but it did not. He did not love me.

It took years for us to reconnect, but what we had now was messy, complicated, and a far cry from the easy love we once shared. It had ended that separation for seven years eventually, and I had taken the hit after hit - or more my heart had taken them and I was still not sure there was anything true between me and Damon.

Lost in my thoughts, I finally managed to open my eyes. It took a moment to register my surroundings. This bedroom was familiar, but not the one I had fallen asleep in. I glanced out the window and saw snowy mountains in the distance. The thick snowfall was a stark contrast to the typical Arizona landscape. Confusion consumed me. Where in the hell was I?

I settled into a more comfortable position in bed when suddenly the door swung open. Colin entered, carefully balancing a large tray filled with aromatic food and steaming coffee. The scent wafted through the room, enticing my senses.

Confused, I looked at him and blurted out, "Where the hell am I? What's happening? Why are you here?"

With a very cute smile, he placed the tray in front of me and replied, "You'll find out soon, my love."

Leaning in, he passionately and skillfully kissed me, igniting a rush of desire within me. My pussy woke up alright and got pretty wet, but I pulled my legs closed, hoping strawberries and champagne did not waft too much in the air.

As Colin pulled away, a mischievous smirk told me he had smelled me. "Enjoy your meal, my love. We have a lot to do, and I'll anticipate your needs. I will sense you, my mate."

Before I could respond, he walked away, leaving me to savor the first sip of coffee, the refreshing taste of cola, and the satisfying bites of meat. He was a very good-looking specimen of a man and I could feel something woke up in me, the carnal side of me.

As I sat down to eat once again, the aroma of freshly cooked wagyu beef filled the air, its rich scent mingling with the beautiful snowy landscape that I saw from the window. I mused in my mind of my life. For example, this time, breakfast. While others enjoyed breakfast with scones and hash browns, I indulged in thick, rare beef and other fatty meats, savoring every bite. Though I tried to avoid carbs, I occasionally gave in to temptation. And good too. Being unkillable makes me reckless with my eating as well. After devouring an entire tray of food, Colin brought me three times more, satisfying my insatiable appetite.

Feeling content, I made my way into the shower, still slightly disoriented. I was drugged with the damn potion. Something nagged my mind about it, but I just could not remember what. The warm water cascaded over me, refreshing my tired body. Stepping out of the shower, I left my wet hair to hang down my back, not bothering to dry it. Despite my clothes being chosen for me, the stretchy velvet dress felt comfortable against my skin. I couldn't help but roll my eyes at the sight of it, but it would do just fine.

Just as I finished getting dressed, Wulfe entered the room. He didn't utter a word, but guided me to sit on a bench. Skillfully, he began to dry and style my hair, his nimble fingers working their magic. His touch was different from Damon's or anyone else's, his hands slightly smaller and incredibly dexterous.

As he braided my long hair, almost like a crown, he remarked, "That was fun. You have the longest hair I've ever worked with, so I tried some new styles."

Grateful, I replied, "Thank you. It looks spectacular. Salvatore erases my memories, so only he knows the styles I've learned."

With my hair beautifully done, Wulfe offered his arm, and I gladly took it as we left the room. As we stepped outside, I immediately recognized our location – Halifax, our Christmas mansion. The entire place was adorned with festive Thanksgiving decorations, and I couldn't help but notice patches of living grass. To my surprise, a large turkey strutted by, followed by miniature goats, hopping bunnies, and adorable lambs.

We descended the stairs, and I spotted the rest of my companions, along with Alaric, seated together. Magnum stood up, approached me, and kissed me passionately.

He whispered, "Just in time. Soon, you'll see. You look magnificent."

Grateful for the compliment, I asked, "Thank you. This is wonderful. But what's with the zoo? Not that I mind. They're quite delightful to watch."

Wulfe smirked and replied, "You'll see."

Sitting on a large chair, I gazed at the enormous Christmas trees, waiting eagerly to be decorated. I loved Christmas, and it seemed like I was in for a truly magical one.

I didn't have much time to sit before Magnum exclaimed, "Come on, let's go out!"

Surprised but excited, I quickly got ready, bundling up in my warm winter clothes to combat the biting cold outside. Wulfe and Magnum accompanied me as we made our way through the back door, the closest one to the magical house. Stepping out into the cold winter day, the frigid air nipped at my cheeks, and my breath formed visible puffs in front of me.

Wulfe stood by my side as we slowly approached the magic house. Soon, its doors swung open, and a group of people emerged. First, four adults - May, Lily, Emmylee, and Vivianne - followed by a swarm of children. As soon as they saw me, the kids sprinted towards me, joyfully shouting, "Mommy!" Overwhelmed with emotion, my eyes welled up as I embraced each of them, their little hands tightly gripping me.

We became entangled in a warm, loving embrace before I suggested, "Let's go inside. It's too cold out here, and we need to get you proper clothes. Then we can have some fun."

Magnum swung the door open, and the children rushed inside.

Turning to Wulfe, I expressed my gratitude, saying, "Thank you, you truly understand me..."

Wulfe gently wrapped his arm around me and replied, "I want you to have the best Christmas ever. Now it's your turn to have your kids with you, not just Mariella's."

With his support, I walked through the doorway, my eyes fixating on May, who resembled me the most - tall, slender, and blonde. Vivianne, on the other hand, was dark and strikingly beautiful, exuding a predatory aura. Emmylee possessed a mix of my blonde hair and Damon's captivating eyes, inheriting his mouth and an air of cruelty. Lily, with her dark hair and my eyes, had Damon's eyebrows and cheeks, making her a darker-haired version of me.

It was a surreal experience seeing my own features reflected in them, even though they had been born with dark hair. Time had surely worked its magic, perhaps altering their hair color and transforming them in other ways, too. Lily and Emmylee had developed more curves, embodying the essence of womanhood, unlike my skinny and petite frame.

As we walked into the room, the children were wide-eyed and astonished by what they saw. There was a flurry of activity, with Murdock lighting up the fireplaces and the enticing aroma of snacks filling the air.

I couldn't help but feel a sense of excitement as May asked me, "Mom, why do we have trees inside?"

I replied, "Those are Christmas trees, dear. Have you never had a Christmas before?"

She shook her head, intrigued. Just then, Dexter appeared and whisked May and the other women away, joined by Colin and Alaric. They began to explain and share stories about Christmas. I found a seat and watched as my seven wonders, my beloved children, reveled in the joyous atmosphere. Despite having had many children over the years, this particular group held a special place in my heart.

Wulfe leaned over and said, "Just imagine, Unicorn, first we have Thanksgiving, then we get to celebrate Christmas. We'll buy presents, sing carols, go shopping, visit chapels, and indulge in delicious food. We'll have fun in the outdoors, engaging in snowball fights and building snowmen. And then, it's New Year's! All the while, these little ones will be with us, and the four girls will have their own holiday, traveling in mid-December and returning after the new year. We are responsible for them. We are family."

My heart swelled with happiness. But then, a headache started to creep in. Programming tried to make me feel guilty. I pushed it aside, determined not to let it dampen this moment. So many times, Mariela and Damon had taken their kids on trips and holidays in Ireland, creating beautiful memories. They would reminisce about those times, while I listened, knowing how difficult those days had been for me. But now, it was my turn to experience it all. And if I knew Wulfe and Magnum at all, they would showcase this experience to the pack boldly and fiercely. It was exactly what we needed, a chance for them to feel what I had felt.
