17. Hijo De La Luna.

As Number Ten entered Doc's lab, he was greeted by a curious sight. On the table, a woman was handcuffed, her unconscious form draped with several IV bags, slowly dripping into her. He had seen her before, locked in a cage. She appeared young but weary, her eyes closed, yet he could somehow envision their deep blueberry hue. A haunting feeling of déjà vu washed over him, but he couldn't pinpoint its origin. Tentatively, he reached out and touched her warm, almost feverish skin, a sensation that didn't alarm him. It was as if her heat was expected, their shared thoughts mingling within their hive mind. Ten assumed that Number One had given Doc permission to study this creature.

Curiosity peaked, Ten inquired, "What have you learned? Is she useful?"

Doc grunted in response. Frustration was clear in his voice. "Not sure, but she's a pain in the ass when she's awake. Swears more than all of us combined. To her, I'm just Dr. Frankenstein with fangs and a dick. Her words, not mine. So, I keep her sedated. Can't handle her constant bitching. Gives me a headache."

Ten smirked, realizing this little one must be quite the firecracker to rattle Doc like this. His memories of her were scarce, only snippets of her sitting on a cot, Number Two restraining her through the bars while Number One sedated her. It was easy to deduce what had been done to her.

A pang of something, an unfamiliar emotion, tugged at Ten. It seemed this little creature deserved more than being rendered unconscious and used. But then again, this was their reality. No remorse. Females often awakened to the pleasures of sex after a few encounters. Maybe she would be different, an icy queen, untouched by desire.

Number one had woken the desires of the other alpha female, a woman named Mariella, who now and then desired his attention. He had not yet engaged in sex with her but had instead pleasured her with his fingers and allowed others to indulge in her milk. Strangely enough, she seemed to enjoy it. She was undeniably a queen of lust. It was only a matter of time before she succumbed to him, which was not surprising considering his expertise.

This facility served as both a breeding ground and a prison, a place where new life was created and used as punishment for those deemed deserving. Most of the females held here had issues with sex, and fertility, or were simply uncontrollable. They were confined in cages, as women needed to be controlled. Extensive hormone therapy made them eager, and many of them were prisoners or evildoers serving their punishment as breeding machines.

Ten approached the computer to review the test results, which were scattered all over the place. This creature, not quite like Mariella, was truly unique. To fully understand her, they would need to study her for years. Ten noticed her pancreas problem, her damaged stomach, her lack of hunger, her multiple spleens, her large thymus, her feline-like anatomy, and her abnormally low hormone levels. The doc had increased them slightly, but synthesizing her unique hormones would prove difficult, making it challenging to enhance her fertility. Perhaps number one had allowed her to be studied for this reason.

The doc's telepathic scans showed her strong willpower, and his reports from when she was awake only reinforced this. She was a powerful being, capable of things they couldn't even fathom. What was particularly peculiar was her vampire-like evolution, which had given her distinctive fangs. According to the doc's scans, her sinuses and frontal sinuses contained special tissues that allowed her to produce and inject substances using her fangs. The doc had even taken a few pairs of her fangs, discovering unique cells within them that were meant for this purpose.

Ten suggested to the doc, "How about we grab a bite? You need to eat, too. We can't be cooped up here all the time. Let's go have a meal, and then you can continue your work. Maybe you can report your findings to number one."

The doc responded, "There isn't much yet, more questions than answers, but alright. I could use some food. I've been trying to comprehend various aspects of her, but she truly is remarkably peculiar."

They quietly exited the dimly lit room, leaving the sedated woman lying on the table. She was securely restrained and covered with a warm blanket, peacefully asleep and harmless. This allowed them to grab a meal and perhaps indulge in some entertainment. There was this blonde vampire woman to be bred some more.

Meanwhile, I patiently waited, knowing that I possessed a remarkable resilience and a resistance to drugs. It was a fact that I dared not even think about, lest a telepath pick up on my thoughts. I pretended to be asleep, keeping my mind tightly closed to prevent anyone from hearing my innermost musings. I prepared myself for escape, knowing that I wouldn't remain the doctor's experimental subject for much longer.

Dislocating my thumbs, I managed to free my hands from the restraints. I quickly got up, still clad in my scrubs, and opened a nearby window. With ease and supernatural agility, I leaped out and gracefully landed on the ground below. Even in my human form, I possessed extraordinary abilities. I swiftly made my way towards the dense forest, seeking refuge in the shadows and trying to avoid being detected. The inability to change my shape frustrated me, but I refused to let it hinder my escape.

As I reached the edge of the forest, I heard the sound of multiple footsteps approaching. Shouting orders could be heard, showing that they had noticed my escape. I desperately tried to run, but my vampire powers seemed to malfunction, preventing me from utilizing my usual lightning-fast speed. Frustration and panic gripped me as I silently weaved and dodged, attempting to find a hiding spot and possibly lose my pursuers.

One man, Number Two, inside the facility became alerted when he noticed the opened window. He hurriedly made his way toward that side of the building to investigate.

Spotting my figure disappearing into the forest, he swiftly reached for his communication device and urgently called out, "Code red! We have a runaway, code red!"

He grabbed his gun and raced outside, knowing that I had just escaped into the forest. His loyal lieutenant, Magnum, accompanied him. Magnum was a hybrid, recently turned into a vampire shifter. He believed he had control over his instincts, but this situation would truly test his newfound abilities. According to protocol, runaways were to be dealt with using deadly force, and it was rare for anyone to be recaptured. After all, there were plenty of women to replace whoever had run for it.

Number two had only one idea: to hunt and kill his prey. This, whoever it had been, had sealed her fate once she had gotten away. Well, actions and consequences, he would not bother to tell about this to number one, unless he would ask. He was just doing his job, keeping things secure. The dense forest would take care of the body, and no one would be none the wiser. He could take care of the paperwork. Each female had been implanted with a chip to suppress their powers and assigned an identity number. So, he would just scan the carcass and he would know whose files to take care of.

I was running as fast as I could, my heart pounding in my chest, trying to get away. But I heard two sets of footsteps, their heavy thuds echoing through the quiet forest. The smell of burning fires or something similar wafted to my nose, telling me that my chasers were vampires. Well, that changes things. I prepared myself mentally, knowing that if they caught me, their only intention would be to kill. And that would be just fine.

I am a special vampire, blessed with many abilities. One of them is the power to manipulate my blood and infuse mental hints into it. That little fact too that I am actually unkillable, but those vampires would not know it soon. If and when they would catch me, drain me, they would receive my hints through my blood and forget me. I would revive in just a few hours, and I would be free. Perfect. It was actually one of my best escape plans, but I was feeling lazy and not in the mood to execute it every time. But fine, I could do this now. Anything to ensure my escape.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are, little rabbit. You can't escape," the voice taunted, dripping with sadistic amusement.

This was some twisted version of that damn vampire again. I was getting pretty damn fed up. I crept on, my senses alert, trying to catch a glimpse of the next hiding spot. Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, piercing the stillness of the forest, and hot pain lanced through my shoulder.

"Oh, you got shot," the voice taunted, closer now. "Come on, I won't bite. I'll maul..."

I didn't wait to hear the rest. Adrenaline surged through my veins as I sprinted, my feet pounding against the forest floor. Heavy weight hit my back, vampire had dashed at me. But the weight of the vampire was too much, and soon I was toppled over. Landing forcefully, he rolled me onto my back. I looked up, meeting the gaze of his blood-red eyes. His fangs glistened in the moonlight, poised to strike. With a brutal force, he yanked my head to the side, exposing my vulnerable throat. And then, without mercy, he sank his fangs into my flesh.

I struggled under him, feebly, of course, keeping up my role as prey. I was a good actress, and it was sometimes boring to pretend to be the victim, but this one did not really care much. I let my fake scent of fear come out, make this more real.

His hunger consumed me, draining me efficiently, but with 55 liters of blood, it wasn't an easy task. I had manipulated my blood to taste more like human blood, and he was draining into him up on all my subtle hints, just as I had hoped. There was someone else approaching, but I was already fading away when the vampire paused.

He turned to the newcomer and said, "Now it's your turn. She won't last long, but go ahead, drink her dry, feel her heart give out, revel in the power."

A plain-looking man crouched beside me, his eyes pools of black nothingness. He forcefully sank his fangs into the other side of my neck, slowly feasting on my blood. He wanted to savor the feeling of my impending death. I let my fake fear be still around,d keeping my role on. Let's give them the whole show then.

My heartbeat slowed, becoming erratic, and my breathing grew shallow. I was barely conscious as he delicately sipped my blood, gradually draining me. This sense of helplessness overwhelmed me, making me feel like a helpless victim. I had no idea, but the vampire grunted, cruelly smiled, glanced at me, and then took one final gulp, drinking my blood until my heart ceased to beat.

Number two leaned against a tree, observing as Magnum ended the girl's life. It didn't weigh on his conscience anymore. It was essential for Magnum to experience his first kill and feel the power. As Magnum stood up, the girl lay lifeless before him.

Her dark eyes were half-open, glazed over, and her skeletal hands clenched, now relaxing as death claimed her. Her bloodless lips were parted as if her last gasp had been a struggle. She was ugly, and plain-looking, and death did not make her any prettier. The ugliness of death was clear on her face, her expression was somehow an expression of the weak victim.

Number two retrieved a scanner from his pocket and scanned the girl's pale wrist. A number flashed on the screen, but to him, she meant nothing. He would simply take care of the paperwork, classifying her as one of the feeders to avoid any future complications. If anyone ever inquired about her, they would pay the standard compensation for her life. Vampires were wealthy, and money proved useful in many situations.

He and Magnum walked calmly back to the compound, their footsteps crunching on the gravel path. Her plain face, devoid of any striking features, had slipped from his mind. In his perception, she had been nothing more than a human: ugly, weak, and utterly insignificant. He desired to erase the memory of her unattractive visage, her frail and feeble body, and her diluted blood that left him feeling bloated and irritated. He failed to detect any anomalies in his thoughts as he compelled Magnum to forget her as well, deeming her unworthy of remembrance.

Number Four, filled with irritation, pondered how she had eluded capture. He had relentlessly searched for her for the past two hours, and now he spotted Number Two and Magnum returning from the forest, engaged in conversation and appearing relaxed. He could see that they had been hunting.

He approached them and inquired, "Where is she? The girl you were chasing?"

Magnum responded, "Dead in the forest. The animals will take care of her lifeless body, although it is curiously bloodless."

Number Four, also known as Doc, rolled his eyes in exasperation.

Number Two, growing irritated himself, commented, "She was just a human, nothing special. Plain, ugly, and weak."

Doc looked at Number Two in surprise. He knew she was not merely human; Number Two had been aware of this fact. She possessed something beyond the ordinary, something that intrigued Doc. However, he remained silent, turning on his heel and making his way to the drug room. With determination, he retrieved a potent tranquilizer designed for large animals, detomidine, and with a brisk stride, he ventured back into the forest.

Number Nine, who typically exuded laziness, observed Doc's unusual drive and inquired, "What are you doing?"

Four grunted and replied, "Damn it, it has been too long. I have to hope that I can reach her in time. Those fools and their foolish protocols. It is not wise to kill first and ask questions later."

They ventured into the forest, the scent of her blood wafting through the air. Number Nine walked alongside Four, his usual lethargy replaced by a newfound sense of urgency. His favorite word, "soon," was conspicuously absent, highlighting the significance of the situation. Finally, they reached a clearing, where her lifeless body lay.

She was sprawled on her back, her neck brutally mauled, yet there were faint signs of healing. Without hesitation, Doc crouched beside her, swiftly injecting the syringe into her heart and depressing the plunger to its full extent. He remained by her side, his body hunched over hers. Her eyes, half-open, stared back at him, a ghostly pallor lingering on her features. Though Nine had seen paler corpses, there was an undeniable semblance of life remaining in her.

Curiosity piqued, he leaned against a nearby tree trunk and posed a question, "I may not know everything, but she is clinically dead and has been for over two hours. Even if that was your revival serum, it was too late. She looks familiar."

Number four said with a hint of amusement, "She escaped. She was the one who number one took, sedated, and took her virginity. A 200-year-old virgin. Well, Wulfe captured her and gave her to me once he had taken his magic from her. She is a siphon, and if my theory is correct, an immortal who can play dead. She seems lifeless but then revives. I have studied her and her tissues for a week now. She escaped while I was eating, so she must have developed resistance to my drug. This is a new one."

Nine frowned, his nostrils flaring as he said, "I can smell she is not human. Why did number two say she is..."

Four smiled, his eyes glinting with curiosity as he interrupted, "Ain't she strong? She has abilities, probably due to her vampire side that I have never heard of. My guess is it has something to do with her blood."

Half an hour later, she took a breath. They watched in awe as she healed right before their eyes.

Now, as she was breathing steadily, Nine remarked, "If you hadn't been so suspicious, she would have gotten away."

Four glanced at her, observing her rhythmic breaths and the strong tranquilizer that kept her unconscious.

Nine added, "Three hours, and she revived. She's a veritable miracle. I wonder what her offspring would be like."

Four grunted, carefully lifting her into his arms as they teleported back to the facility.

Upon their arrival, they entered a lab where Four pointed to a cage, signaling Nine. "Open that. This one is hard to restrain, so let's see if a cage is a better option."

Nine opened the cage, and Four placed the sleeping woman inside.

He found a thin mattress and covered her with a blanket, saying, "She is almost like an animal. She cools down when sedated. I don't want her to go into hypothermic shock."

Nine lingered for a moment, looking at her before suggesting, "You might want to tell one. He's pretty angry that she got away, so it might help him. Though he's preoccupied with his new lady, Mariella, he's still the boss. He might not even want her anymore."

With that, Nine walked away, leaving it up to Four to inform one about this female.
