Birthday Plan

They explored the yard for hours and during this, Robin bombarded him with questions.

What's his favorite food? Do he like video games? Can he ride a bike? He tries to answer her, but she barely lets him get a word in edgewise.

Later, they play tag, and Robin is relentless, chasing him around the place until he is breathless and laughing.

She's like a miniature tornado, whirlwinding her way through the garden, leaving a trail of chaos in her wake.

At one point, she convinces him to climb a tree, and hesy terrified, but Robin is fearless, scrambling up the trunk like a monkey.

He even calls her one and the little girl just lifts her nose in the air and says, "I'm a bird! Not a monkey!"

As they sit in the branches, surveying the stretch of property, and for a moment, he feels like he's a part of something special.

As the afternoon wears on, he starts to feel more comfortable around Robin.
