As the conversation progressed, small groups of witches and wizards arrived one after the other in the classroom for the divination class.
In the corner, Hermione whispered to Andy.
"Andy, I don't care how curious you are, but we don't have the ability to explore higher dimensions right now," Hermione said with a worried look on her face.
She was afraid that Andy would be curious and rashly explore some strange things.
"Professor Trelawney also said that 'world' is terrifying, and we must at least be fully prepared,"
The young witch looked helpless; as if she were worried sick about her wayward child. "Andy, you don't want to encounter something terrible, do you?"
Andy: "..."
"Hermione, do you really believe her?" Andy asked curiously.
To be fair, rationally, Andy thought Professor Trelawney was right.
But emotionally... no matter how he looked at it, Andy felt that Professor Trelawney was a fraud.
It was a strange feeling.
"Of course, I believe her!"
Hermione said with a tone of certainty, "I've noticed that you've been acting strange these past few days. Andy, you must have found something, am I right?"
Andy was speechless!
"Look!" The young witch suddenly became smug.
Andy felt that Hermione must have a fan filter when looking at Professor Trelawney.
Under this filter, Hermione would believe everything Professor Trelawney said, without a doubt – perhaps this fan filter was Hermione's spirit.
Soon, the class was full.
"Welcome to Divination class,"
Professor Trelawney sat in a winged armchair next to the fireplace and said in a mysterious voice: "I am Professor Trelawney. You may not have seen me before. A busy school life can blur my vision."
At this, Professor Trelawney straightened her shawl and continued: "You have chosen Divination, which is the most difficult of all magical arts."
"I must warn you before we begin: if you do not have a natural talent for Divination, there is very little I can teach you. In this field, books can only take you so far..."
Hermione turned to Andy when she heard this. She was a little depressed. Books were not very useful in Divination.
Andy shrugged nonchalantly.
Books are indeed of little use in Divination.
Andy had discovered this long ago, which was why he had not presumptuously taught himself Divination.
"Many witches and wizards, despite their talents in the areas of five senses like touch, sight, hearing, smell and taste, are unable to see through the fog to the future,"
After looking at the young witches and wizards in the classroom for a bit, Trelawney continued, "This talent is only possessed by a select few."
"You, boy!"
Trelawney pointed at Neville and said, "How is your grandmother?"
"I think she is fine," Neville said, trembling. He almost fell out of his chair.
"If I were you, I wouldn't be so sure, dear," Professor Trelawney said.
Andy: "..."
Here it comes again, that strange feeling.
Rationally, Andy believed every word Professor Trelawney said.
True, not everyone has the gift of divination.
Take Andy, for example. Andy also possesses the talent for [Divination] – what Professor Trelawney calls the gift of inner sight – thanks to the points he has earned through the system.
Books really can't teach you much.
But emotionally, every cell in Andy's body was telling him: she's a liar, she can't teach divination at all, that's why she said that.
What a strange feeling!
'Is this the Trelawney family curse? No one will ever believe their true prophecy!' Andy thought.
Andy glanced at Hermione again.
The young witch was sitting upright, her eyes fixed on Professor Trelawney. As if to prove that she had the "sight" that Professor Trelawney is speaking of.
Fan filters... truly terrifying!
Now even curses can't affect fan filters?
"This year we will be learning various basic divination methods,"
Trelawney continued calmly. "The first semester will be spent reading tea leaves, and next semester we will learn palmistry."
"By the way, my dear,"
She said, looking at Parvati Patil, "Beware of red-haired men."
Parvati gave Ron a frightened look and then moved her chair away from his a little.
"I think, dear,"
Professor Trelawney said to Lavender Brown, "You could hand me that largest teapot."
Lavender looked relieved. She stood up, picked up a huge teapot from the shelf and placed it on the table in front of Professor Trelawney.
"Thank you, dear. By the way, the thing you were afraid of will happen on Friday, 16 October," Professor Trelawney said.
Lavender shook.
Hermione, with a face full of interest, wrote down all the predictions made by Professor Trelawney in her notebook – she wanted to see how events would unfold.
"Now, I want you all to form pairs, take a teacup from the shelf and come to me. I will pour tea into the cups,"
Professor Trelawney continued: "Then sit down and drink the tea until there is only a little bit of tea left in the cup."
"First, use your left hand to swirl the tea leaves three times, then tip the cup upside down and place it on the saucer...wait until the last drop of tea has drained away, and then hand your cup to your partner to interpret."
"You can refer to pages 5 and 6 of the book 'Unfogging the Future' to interpret the shape of the tea dregs."
"I will walk among you, helping and instructing you. Oh, and dear..."
Professor Trelawney grabbed Neville's arm. "After you break your first teacup, could you please choose one from the blue patterned teacups?"
Snap!
A loud sound!
Neville seemed to have startled and made a sharp move, slamming his whole body against the table, causing the teacups on the table to fall to the ground.
Professor Trelawney looked at Neville, "So...if you don't mind, choose a blue one, thank you."
"Okay, okay!" Neville found himself utterly perplexed.
Hermione excitedly grabbed Andy's arm, "Andy, did you see that? Professor Trelawney's prediction has been verified!"
Andy: "..."
Are you sure this isn't just a psychological suggestion combined with intimidation?
"Let's drink the tea first!" Andy said helplessly.
Soon, both Andy and Hermione's teacups were full of tea.
Back at their seats, Andy quickly drank the tea, then shook the tea leaves according to Professor Trelawney's instructions, dried the teacup, and exchanged cups with Hermione.
"Pages 5 and 6?"
Andy flipped through the book and then looked at Hermione's teacup.
