As the top of the pyramid started opening, Ethan suddenly felt a weight on his mind, and as if a fog was clouding him. This was the effect of Tsukuyomi, a technique he and Miyuki were developing together.

The easiest time to get rid of it was right at the start because it was an ever evolving attack, so the more time passed, and the harder it would be to resist and get rid of.

But Ethan did not do anything to hamper its growth. Instead, he yelled at Tracey, or rather Nefertari, who had mysteriously stiffened up the moment the pyramid started opening, "Take Snyde down before he controls you again!"

Ethan's words were brief because he did not have much time. Besides, he believed she would understand.

So even as she showed no reaction to his words, Ethan decided to assume she would listen to him, because that was frankly the only thing he could do to help his parents.

His vision had told him that in the end, they were both defeated, and only Rakepick, along with the possessed Tracey, remained standing, meaning that in the original timeline, Rakepick should have managed to defeat his parents while only losing Tracey.

But from what Ethan could see while he was disrupting the Altar, although Rakepick was a formidable duellist who had mastered the Dark Arts and Offensive Magic alike, she could only match up to his father, and that was barely.

There was no comparing Snyde and Helene though. One was a fresh out of Hogwarts Curse Breaker, and the other a genius with several decades of experience. Even though Helene's main skill-set revolved around Runes, she was still a very powerful witch, only a level below her husband in terms of fighting prowess.

Moreover, while Rakepick and Snyde may have been partners for some time, Ethan's parents had been married for two decades, and had been fighting together over the world for even longer.

So there was no chance for Rakepick and Snyde to defeat his parents by themselves, meaning there had to be an external factor. Adding in the other elements of his visions, Ethan concluded that it was a controlled Nefertari who would upset the balance, hence his warning.

But seeing how she had frozen up, Ramesses had already started exerting his control over him, meaning he had to give her a window of opportunity.

So, Ethan threw himself towards the top of the pyramid, body and soul. Grasping the top of the pyramid that had opened, Ethan directly placed his head above the hole, and lost all sensations of the real world doing so.

There was a moment of darkness, before Ethan found himself in a giant field of reeds. They extended as far as the eye could see, reaching the horizon as the sun up in the sky glowered on them.

The peaceful world was quickly interrupted however as the sun was replaced by the moon, and a fog spread out over the field of reeds.

"Bold move to go on the offensive. As expected of my vessel."

A figure appeared between the reeds, walking calmly towards Ethan. With a raise of his hand, the sun reappeared in the sky, facing off against the moon.

"Guessing I would be taking control of Nefertari within such a short moment was impressive as well. But while wanting to hold me off is admirable, you are overestimating yourself grossly, child."

As the figure spoke, the moon in the sky was rapidly being burned by the sun. It was the spiritual representation of Tsukuyomi, along with the fog.

Ethan was not just about to let the man, who could only be Ramesses II, plough through his defences so he launched himself at the man. But while doing so, he noted that Ramesses did not seem to know anything about his vision, which was a good thing.

Ramesses looked at him with an amused expression, an eyebrow raised as he lifted a finger. Ethan felt like a truck had slammed into him as he was sent flying backwards by the attack.

Awkwardly landing some distance in the back, Ethan used the reeds as support as he kept an eye on the battle between the sun and the moon up in the sky.

The ancient pharaoh cocked his head to the side as he saw where Ethan was looking, and informed him, "You think you are winning time? You should know that time does not pass the same in the spiritual realm. Not even a second has passed in the outside world, and your spell is about to be burnt out. Then, we will carry the battle to your body."

Ethan finally decided to address the pharaoh, "You sound very sure of your victory. You think you can overpower me mentally in my own body."

Ramesses smiled as he looked like he was chiding a child he had caught misbehaving, clicking his tongue, "I am the son of Sun, the king of millions and a god among mystics. I simply am your better. But you should feel no shame, for you are as good a vessel as I could find."

The man's pride was blinding, something Ethan noted down internally as he said, "Maybe. I suppose that if I had to be possessed, I would rather it be a great king such as you."

Ramesses' thin lips were spread thinner as he smiled. "You have a good tongue. You would have made a great servant. I would have saved your soul and planted it in another body, but I am going to need it to adapt to the vessel."

He looked up at the moon that was about to be destroyed by the sun, and asked, "Ready for assimilation?"

Ethan returned the smile, and said, "Not so much. How about a little trick?"

With a simple thought, Ethan caused the moon in the sky to shatter. But as Ramesses watched curiously, wondering why Ethan would destroy his own defences, the remains of the moon crashed into the reeds field, ravaging it.

The field of reeds was Ramesses' mindscape, or spiritual realm as he called it, and so any damage to it would result in damages to his spirit.

With a wave of his hand, Ramesses shattered the meteorites, but this only caused them to turn into a vaporous form as a much thicker fog than before was raised around the field, blocking both of their views.

As Ethan ran among the reeds, he heard Ramesses speak up, "An ingenious spell. Many moons must have passed during my slumber. I could have done better, but that is to be expected. Mortals and gods simply do not stand on the same level."

Ethan silently listened to the monologue of the prideful Pharaoh as he used his voice to run around him, not going too far or too close.

But soon, he felt a shift in the surrounding magic, and Ramesses chuckled softly, "Ingenious, but flawed."

Ramesses let out a huge wave of magic around him, forcefully dispersing the fog. He looked down at Ethan with calm confidence, only to find a spell flying his way.

He blocked it with his palm, resulting in a cut. It was not deep, but it was not shallow either. No blood gushed out of the wound because their bodies were made of mind energy, but Ethan could still feel the intensity of his opponent reduce slightly.

But that also resulted in the Pharaoh's features quickly morphing into anger as his eyes narrowed, and Ethan felt a large amount of magic move around him.

"Bye sucker!"

And with those words, Ethan returned to his body and jumped away from the Altar. As he did, the Altar started shaking and the opening widened considerably as a large spiritual mass of light burst out from the top and chased after Ethan.

Still, this gave Ethan the time to take a look at the surrounding situation, and as he did a smile marred his face. His bet had paid off.

Not only was Snyde lying on the ground with an arm bent out of shape, but Rakepick was also in a bad position. One of her arms looked broken, and the left side of her head was bleeding. She was being assaulted by three parties at once, although Tracey once again froze up the moment he came back to his body.

As the source of light that was Ramesses' soul about to collide with him, Ethan saw the worried look his parents threw at him, so he shouted, "Miyuki, let's devour the fucker!"

The fucker slammed into his chest.
