Eunji's eyes widened, and her heartbeat quickened as she thought, 'He should have stayed back when I asked him to! Who knew these guys were vampires?'
Seung's body hit the ground, his eyes shut. One side of his neck was drenched in crimson, marked by two close-set bite marks. Blood trickled slowly down to his shoulder.
"Let's take her down now," said the vampire who had bitten Seung. He adjusted his hood and walked over Seung's unconscious body. "She's the one worth attacking."
The vampires moved in on Eunji, their predatory eyes gleaming under their hoods. She glanced quickly from side to side, noting their silver adornments and the glaring sunlight that should have weakened them. 'This doesn't make sense,' she thought, her mind racing for a new strategy.
The crunch of debris under approaching footsteps sent shivers down Eunji's spine. "I can buy us some time," she muttered, her teeth sinking into her lower lip.
