The Party II

Sylvie

I did my best to convince Michael to stay home with me, but he insisted that we were both leaving for the party. I hadn't been a fan of parties since Antonio embarrassed me in front of the crowd. And while I knew Michael wouldn't do the same to me, I still wanted to stay home, away from all the drama, and the intoxicating smell of alcohol.

"I'll be right by your side, there's nothing to be scared of." Michael reassured me for the umpteenth time. He was becoming tired of my lazy reasons, and it was clear he had no intentions of changing his mind. He had too many people hoping for him to cancel. This was an opportunity to build relationships with other CEOs and men in power, and Michael Black was a big opportunist.

"I'll come on one condition," I proposed, and Michael raised a brow inquisitively.

"What is it now?" He demanded, willing to hear my condition more than anything.
