Bel sank into bed, having eaten and gotten ready for sleep. There was still no sign of Davien, and she suspected that might remain the case after she woke up. Suddenly, Bel sprang from the bed, and the light orb moved from where it hovered beside the four-poster bed. She had not turned it off after Giselle had helped her wash off. Sol had been turned off by then, and she needed light.
She walked briskly to where the armoire was located and flung it open. Bel took one glance and could tell it had been arranged. Her gaze darkened. She hadn't expected less, but it annoyed her. She shut it closed and stomped back to bed. Bel didn't fall asleep immediately, but eventually, she couldn't fight off the exhaustion from walking around the village for most of the day. She fell asleep slowly, completely unaware of it until she was in a deep sleep.
