Chapter 28- Slice of that good life...

*Yes Author San is back, I revised for nothing, and exams were moved to next week, 💀*

*I have a one-piece fanfic, called The Blade Of the Marines, I am starting a new one to run alongside this football one, so one chapter a day for each book, sounds fair.*

*New One Piece Fan Fic, One Piece: Legacy's Child.*

Jude and I were walking side by side out of Wembley and to the team bus waiting to depart, we were interrupted by a few reporters, and so was Kane, however, the captain ignored them and barged past me and Jude, leaving everyone slightly uncomfortable.

"Adri, Jude, you were amazing out there, such commanding presences on the pitch, the precision of your passing and shooting was unparalleled today, do you think you can bring it home for England this year?"

I looked at Jude for a second and he looked at me too, we had talked about this and we discussed the fact that we had a great chance, confidence is key and we both understood the message, we turned to look at the reporter and harmoniously said, "Yes, it's coming home this year!"

"Adri, there seems to be some dispute amongst the team, you and the captain, what do you have to say?"

I contemplated a moment, I didn't want to make too much trouble but I wasn't one to hide the truth from the world, \I am who I am, "If someone is not up top of their usual standards, whether it is Kane or anyone on the team, I will say it upfront, I look at the benefits of the team, not of a single player."

"Adri, do you think you'll stay with United, of course returning to Stoke and being sold is still an option for you despite the rage of the fans!"

It always somehow came down to United, the premier league and if I was leaving, seeing my expression, Jude chuckled, patted me on the back, walked to the team bus alone, and waited inside for me...

"I have no intention of leaving Manchester United, but in the end professionally it comes down to the board, the manager, and of course my performance, I would never want to be a drag on United's success, as long as I am useful and worthy, I have no problem in staying, will I stay in the premier league for my whole career, of course not, there will come a time where I must leave, but that is nowhere near today, is that all?"

"Yes, Mr. Randin thanks for the interview, good luck on your match next week against Fulham!"

"Thanks, stay safe!"

I walked back to the bus, claimed the seat next to Bellingham, and watched as player by player was dropped off at their destination, Jude and I stopped in Manchester, however, he got a taxi to the airport to return to Madrid for club duty, and I waited a few minutes at a garage until my G-wagon was delivered from Staffordshire.

Driving home was as boring as always, I stowed the wagon back into the garage and began the ever-tiresome climb up to my apartment, I stepped onto the landing and walked through the little corridor until I found my door. I grabbed the handle and shoved my key in, but it didn't turn, I shoved the handle down and the door was ajar, someone was in there, the lights were off and the building was pitch black...

Suddenly the lights went on and tons of confetti landed in my hair as a sound like canons going off erupted throughout the apartment, I looked around in a daze and found my family and my teammates all together with a cake on my dining table, my brother looked like he was going to faint after seeing all these world-class players in one room, my parents looked happy, Casi and Eriksen came up to me and shook hands, I whispered to them, "What's going on, what's the occasion!"

Much to my distaste, Casi turned around and announced to the entire group that I didn't know what was going on, my father spoke up and despite there being some big names in the room, they respected him and allowed him to speak without interruption, "Adri, February 27th, is the date today, it's your birthday but you were too preoccupied to realize!"

My team burst into laughter mocking me, anything to fuck around with was not missed out by this United Squad. I stuck my finger up at them and my mother tutted disapprovingly, "Sorry ma!"

Happy Birthday To You

Happy Birthday to you

Happy birthday dear (Captain/Adri)

Happy Birthday to you

I could hear Casemiro in the background changing the lyrics to "You're a hundred and two!" but I just laughed it off, even when the cake was cut and my face was smashed into the pastry, fortunately, it was quite tasty.

The celebration continued into the night until everyone left for an early night, my family stayed as it was the weekend and there was no school for my brother, we discussed his progress at the academy, I suggested something to them for what happens when Liam turns 16, I proposed that I take him under my wing at united's academy, but father was reluctant, he was still young, and even I didn't move out until I was eighteen when Liam went to sleep, we eventually decided to leave it up to him, whatever he feels like doing!

I felt at ease, away from the paparazzi, the reporters, the shitty city fans, the arguments, and the need to lead people, I was just me, I promised to take my family out tomorrow to the Trafford center, a big shopping mall here in Manchester, my heart felt lighter as my eyes closed into deep sleep.
