"Are you mad at me, Silver?"

Spheris turned to his left, half startled to see Lirael looking at him intensely with arms behind her back.

"What?" he asked her, raising a brow.

"You didn't come to find me like we'd earlier agreed on," Lirael said, seemingly upset. "I thought you were angry at me."

After looking at her for a moment, Spheris shifted his gaze back to the assembly of Attuned Bearers. "Not angry. Just wished to be alone," he stated coldly.

"Gotcha. I was worried that what I said about sticking with you always might have scared you a little bit."

Spheris's eyes wandered to her once again, evaluating her and saying nothing while she waited for him speak.

"You told me that your Brigade is full. Why then are you here?" he asked her.

"Because I knew you'd be here, of course," she replied. "Even though you've been avoiding me all day, I knew you'd need my help here. The ATN's can be a little hardcore and condescending."
