Grandpa Tai noticed and he rolled his eyes. Tai Ho Sun had mentioned that Caishen was a bit possessive and easily expressed jealousy when Alix was too close to other men. He didn't mention women as well because Caishen looked like he wanted to tear the two apart forcefully. 

He was not fully satisfied with Alix's marriage to Caishen because he knew the rigid traditions of the Zhang family. 

Everyone knew that female children in the Zhang family didn't inherit shares. While it stopped them from being targeted by men with ill intentions, it was also very unfair. From the outside, it looked like women were not valued much in their family. 

He wanted Alix to be valued by the Zhangs, very much. Her childhood was hard enough and she didn't need a sad adult life as well. But if Caishen was jealous over his Alix, maybe there was a hope for the two finding happiness in thay rigid family.
