Nick Fury, of course, would not go to the time point where World War III was about to break out for the third time. Leaving aside the difficulty of remediation, if he spent a lot of time mediating the life-and-death duel between the two Iron Mans, he would probably end up causing trouble with Bruce anyway.
So before departing, he reset the timeline to when Bruce first arrived in this cosmos.
As for Shiller's other actions, after learning that the Spider-Man of this cosmos was missing, Shiller didn't rush to search in the cosmos right away but began his own deduction instead.
Starting from the sequence of this matter, we have to firstly recall when Shiller pulled the White Can from the future.
Originally, because White Can had Tony Stark's wisdom but lacked a moral bottom line, Shiller brought him over to create an engine to propel the cosmos. Since the computational power was insufficient, White Can spread a virus to steal the computational power of other cosmoses.
Shiller didn't vest all his hope in White Can, or rather, White Can's cosmic propulsion engine plan was actually a backup plan. Shiller's real target was the Transcendent.
However, wasting White Can's days just crafting an engine seemed a little wasteful, so Shiller initiated a series of fishing plans, guiding White Can to aim for Owen and efficiently find out the location of the Transcendent.
There was an episode during this, which was when White Can came to the universe where Shiller was to find Shiller. They carried out a series of dialogues, or it can be said they were probing, manipulating, and counter-manipulating each other.
In this process, Shiller received a message from the Amazing Spider-Man in the Spider App, saying that he killed Captain America.
This "he" referred to the Ultimate Iron Man, i.e. White Can.
According to White Can himself, he came to the universe where Shiller was located via Spider-Man's portal. Before using this portal, he had a small conflict with Spider-Man.
After that, Shiller heard no news of Spider-Man. After comparison with the Spider Silk timeline, Shiller found out that during this period, no other Spider-Men saw the Amazing Spider-Man. Which meant that the Amazing Spider-Man disappeared after that.
So maybe there is a possibility that because the Amazing Spider-Man sent a message to Shiller that almost spoiled White Can's plan and let White Can know that the Spider-Man witnessed the death of Captain America, possibly becoming a witness to the murder, so Spider-Man was possibly silenced by White Can.
However, the most striking flaw in this is that in the lines left by White Can before he made a time machine to go back to the past, he mentioned that because he killed Captain America, Spider-Man saw him as an enemy. This means that the Spider-Man was still alive at that time.
This is weird. Bruce came, became Spider-Man, causing Captain America to die, causing White Can to return to the past.
However, only when the Amazing Spider-Man died could Bruce become Spider-Man, leading White Can to return to the past. Yet, at the time point when White Can returned to the past, the Amazing Spider-Man was still alive. This is clearly a contradiction.
However, Shiller caught the key point.
Please notice, White Can went to the past, but he should have encountered another White Can in the past.
By then, the virus of the desperate situation had already been released twice, this action clearly could not have been the work of the Justice Iron Man. At the time he returned to, Shiller had used White Can to replace Justice Iron Man.
So the first enemy that the White Can from the future who went back to the past should deal with was himself at the time. So where did this present White Can go?
The answer is that he was talking to Shiller at that time, manipulating and counter-manipulating each other. He reached the universe where Shiller was through the Spider Totem passage and he was not in his own universe at all.
So White Can from the future who returned to the past didn't encounter himself because the present White Can was talking to other cans.
In the process of White Can finding Shiller and talking to him now, Spider-Man sent a message saying that he killed Captain America.
Note, Spider-Man said that he killed Captain America, not that he discovered Captain America's body, which means that Spider-Man very likely witnessed White Can killing Captain America.
However, when he sent this message, the current White Can was right in front of Shiller. And Shiller recognized from his manners and movements at the time that his shock at the moment was not pretended.
As he said, there would have been no motive for White Can at the time to kill Captain America. He had just launched the second phase of the virus and then killed a national hero. Wasn't that inviting trouble?
So it suggests that Captain America was killed by the future White Can.
Here comes the most interesting part, the future White Can came back to save Captain America, but after all this effort, it was he who killed Captain America.
So why did the future White Can want to kill Captain America?
Because Captain America set a death flag. He told Bruce, who had become the new Spider-Man, "With great power comes great responsibility," so his death was near certain.
The future White Can may have found Captain America to protect him, but the death flag caused an accident which led to the death of Captain America. This scene was witnessed by the Amazing Spider-Man.
Then the question arises again, the Amazing Spider-Man died, causing Bruce to become the new Spider-Man, leading to Captain America's death. But the Amazing Spider-Man also witnessed the death of Captain America. This doesn't make sense.
However, Shiller received that note through the Spider App, and he neither made a video call with the Amazing Spider-Man nor saw him in person. Was the sender really the Amazing Spider-Man?
The magic of the Spider App is that non-Spiders can't use it because it's unlocked via Spider-sense. But what if another Spider-Man used it, who happened to have inherited the identity of the Amazing Spider-Man?
In short, could the person sending messages to Shiller be Bruce Wayne, the Spider-Man?
Let's look again. Bruce arrived in this universe, the Amazing Spider-Man dies, Bruce becomes the new Spider-Man, and sets up a death flag for Captain America.
The future White Can kills Captain America, the new Spider-Man Bruce witnesses all of this, and sends a message saying "He killed Captain America" to Shiller via the Spider App.
This makes sense. The Amazing Spider-Man did not resurrect, and the ones who sent the message and fought against the White Can after the death of Captain America were all Bruce Wayne, the new Spider-Man.
It's not surprising that Bruce would do this. Captain America is his mentor, with a status similar to that of Uncle Ben to Peter Parker. Even if we step back, Bruce knows that Captain America is a hero, and it is normal that he might be targeted by the potential manipulator, the White Can.
Another piece of evidence is the message received by Shiller, sent by Spider Man.
At first glance this does not seem problematic, but when you think about it, it doesn't make sense. If the Amazing Spider-Man sent the message, intending to ask for help, he should send it to Nick Fury, not Shiller.
In the eyes of most Spider-Men, Shiller is just a psychiatrist. Their real comrades are other Spider-Men, and the one who has always been helping them is Nick.
But if it's Bruce Wayne, it makes sense. It's not that he wanted to send it to Shiller, but that he only recognized Shiller. Or of the ones on this list, he thinks the only one who could tackle the current trouble is Shiller.
After all, Bruce has previously told Shiller that he had heard of him, and it's clear from the rumors that the notoriety wasn't good, basically, anything from the universe's destruction to the overturning of a trash can at the front door could be blamed on Shiller.
Returning to the main topic, now that the timeline is clear, one point in time becomes very important: what happened after the Amazing Spider-Man opened the door to the present White Can?
The one who used the Spider Totem to open a channel and let the present White Can into the Shiller Universe must be the Amazing Spider-Man, because Bruce Wayne doesn't know what the Spider Totem is and wouldn't be able to use the Spider Totem channel. So, it must be the Amazing Spider-Man.
That is to say, at that time the Amazing Spider-Man was still alive. So when did he die?
We need to look at when the Amazing Spider-Man opened the channel.
In addition to Nick, another person could investigate the opening record of the Spider Totem channel, which was Spider Silk from the Spider Legion.
Or, originally, it was only Spider Silk's privilege to open the Spider Totem channel. But as the Spider Legion grew stronger and the Spider-Men frequently went to various universes, Nick used some of the Spider Totem's privileges to allow all Spider-Men to do so.
However, later, the reasons for the Spider-Men to cross the universe were too varied. Sometimes they would cross over five or six times just because they forgot something. Nick realized that this would seriously destabilize the universe, so he began to gradually tighten the crossing authority, while Spider Silk was responsible for supervision.
So, Shiller came to the Spider Legion and found Spider Silk, and explained the current situation to her.
The most efficient way to find a Spider-Man is to find Spider Silk who can sense the location and status of each Spider-Man through Spider-sense.
Unlike the Spider Totem, Spider Silk was an emotional being, and Shiller was good at dealing with intelligent creatures with emotions. Before he found the Spider-Man, he needed to check the Spider-Man's status through Spider Silk first.
The whole thing about suicide is too strange; it couldn't have been done quickly. Even if Shiller could return to the point when Spider-Man was still alive and go to him directly, he still needed to find out what had happened to Spider-Man, and what had led him to make this choice.
Shiller didn't often go to the Spider Legion's residence, but many Spider-Men knew him, because they all had been taken to Shiller for psychological assessment by Nick.
Soon, Shiller saw Spider Silk in the Spider Legion's lounge. With Spider Silk, Shiller entered another room. This move made Spider Silk realize that Shiller probably had important business.
"...That's what's going on," Shiller quickly explained what was happening.
Spider Silk stretched out a hand and said, "Wait a minute, I'm a bit confused. What's the time point now? Is the Spider-Man from that universe dead?"
"Yes, Nick found out from the Spider Totem that he is dead, and that he committed suicide."
"That's impossible." Spider Silk frowned deeply, "If he's really dead, I should have sensed it. I should feel something whenever a Spider-Man whom I can contact through Spidey-sense is seriously injured or killed."
"That's why I said this matter is strange, but we can't rush into any investigation." Shiller tapped lightly on the table with a finger tip. "The universe has a very complicated situation, and I need to know enough information before I can really dive into it."
"What do you want to know?"
"The Spider-Man from that universe should have applied for the crossing authority using the Spider Totem. The starting point is his universe, and the destination point is my universe. Can you check the related record?"
The expression on Spider Silk's face instantly hardened. She gestured for Shiller to follow her and as they walked, said, "Doctor, we take all crossing authority related to your universe very seriously. So, if there was any such application, we should definitely know."
