Force to Retreat

Bodvill University was located towards the north of the city. This part of the city was just like the western part of the city which was not possessing much population.

Since it was a big institution, it was obvious that it required a big area for it to be established. So, it was located in an area that was not congested with the human settlements. But even then, settlements could be found within the northern part of the city, but as expected, only those that possessed enough influence could live in those places other than the students that stayed there in hostels that had been constructed mainly for them.

The development in this part of the city was quite high considering that it was the side that the university that was popular within the country was located. To make sure that the accessibility of this place was easier, it was located just a few kilometers away from the airport that was located within the city.

To say the truth, it was this university that was located here that made this city at third-tier city. Otherwise, as compared to the other cities, it was definitely impossible for this city to be able to reach the third tier.

The area that was occupied by the University was extremely huge, and the number of buildings within the university was almost uncountable. The infrastructure of the university was quite advanced, and the entire facility was enclosed by a huge perimeter wall.

In a certain part within the university, inside a lecture hall that was located on the third floor of the building that belonged to the finance department, two people were conversing with each other.

"So, what do you think about the arrangement that I made? Do you think that they will agree to the competition?" The lady of the two, possessing medium-length wavy red hair and green eyes asked as she looked at the young man that was sitting opposite her.

Just like in any institution, they were seated on the chairs that belonged to the students within the lecture hall, and currently, the entire room was empty, as others had already left.

"Of course they will have to agree. In any case, why would they refuse considering that if they do so, their reputation is going to be damaged badly." The young man who was sitting opposite to the lady responded confidently.

He possessed short blonde hair, and brown eyes. He possessed a muscular physique, and his muscles could be clearly seen through his tight black T-shirt.

The lady who was currently wearing a white T-shirt inside a black leather jacket, looked at the young man silently. She was contemplating something for a moment, before she spoke up again. "That's going to be good. If they agree, we are definitely going to win this competition this time. Last time, they managed to win against our group simply because I was not around. But this time, since I will be there, I will definitely make sure that they pay for what they did the previous time."

The moment that the young man heard that, he could not help but get a little excited. He looked at the lady in front of him with admiration in his eyes.

The lady in front of him was not only a beauty, but instead, she was also the leader of the group that they belonged to. Since they were in campus, it was definitely not strange that several gangs would be formed.

With the formation of different gangs within the campus, it was inevitable that competition would occur due to several feuds between the members of each gang.

The lady was just about to say something when suddenly, her phone began ringing. With a simple frown on her face, she took out the phone, which seemed to be quite advanced despite the small size, the size of a normal smartphone with a screen of about 5.6".

After looking at the caller ID, she realized that the one that was calling was her mother. After a moment of hesitation, she picked the call.

"Hey mom, what is it? Did something happen? I'm still in school." The lady asked the moment that she received the call.

There was a moment of silence from the other side of the call, before a female voice responded. "Scarlet, does it have to be that every time that I call you, there has to be something that happened?"

From the voice comma it was clear that the other party was definitely not happy about the way that Scarlett was responding.

After hearing the question, Scarlet could only force a smile as she responded stiffly, "Not really mom. You know, you don't usually call me during the time that I am in school, so, I'm kind of wondering if there's actually something that happened."

"Whatever. I know that you are currently still in school simply because you are planning to do something. But let me tell you in advance, you better be careful, as you know the situation of the family right now." The lady on the other end of the call stated seriously.

Scarlet's expression became a little serious as she thought about the situation that the family was currently encountering. But even then, she really did not think that there was anybody that was going to cause her trouble for the time being, right?

But even then, there was definitely no way that she was going to tell her mother that. Otherwise, it was definitely going to cause trouble for her.

Before Scarlet could say anything, the lady on the other end of the call continued. "We have organized for a person to stay by your side starting from tomorrow. So, you better know how to treat him well. If you cause trouble, you have to know that there will be punishment for you."

Scarlet was a little surprised after she heard that. They had organized for a person to stay by her side? What kind of logic was that? Were they actually trying to look for a husband for her?

Of course, she was a rebellious person, and there was no way that she was going to agree to something like that. So, she immediately responded with a little anger in her voice, "I already said that I don't care about those idiots. No matter who it was, I am definitely not going to agree to any of them. As for staying by my side, I'm going to make sure that they run back crying."

There was a moment of silence between the two of them, before the lady on the other side spoke again. "Who said anything about looking for a husband for you? Ever since the last time that you caused a commotion, we stopped completely looking for a person for you. But even then, you know that that is something that is only temporary, and it is going to continue after some time."

"I don't really care if it is now or later on, but no matter what, I don't want those stupid arranged marriages. Don't I have my own rights of making a choice?" Scarlet retorted angrily.

"Sigh! Forget it. Let's not talk about that for now. Your father has arranged a bodyguard for you. With the current situation that we are experiencing, your safety is kind of important. So, there's somebody that is going to maintain your safety for the next few days." The lady stated after a helpless sigh.

There was yet another moment of silence, as Scarlet began trying to digest water her mother had just said. It was only after about 5 seconds that she reacted.

"A bodyguard? You do know that that is something that I don't really like, and that is the reason why I have always been making sure that I stay away from the media. I don't like some idiots just following me around everywhere that I go." Scarlet stated with a frown on her face. She was completely displeased by this. It was not as if this was the first time that her family had arranged for a person to be her bodyguard.

But even then, she had always been chasing them away, or causing trouble for them if she could not deal with them. She could not agree to have a strict person following her time, during that they would limit her freedom.

She had thought that after the previous drama, her family was not going to do something that she did not like, but it seemed that she was wrong.

"Sigh! I do understand what you are trying to say. I know that you really don't like this, but even then, you have to understand that the current situation is definitely not favorable for you. So, you will have to tolerate this for the next few days, before you regain your own freedom to do what you want." The lady responded helplessly.

"Whatever. I don't really care now. Whoever it is that you have arranged for me, believe it or not, I'm going to make sure that he retreats. Don't say that I am the one that rejected, but I'm going to make sure that it is the other person that willingly retreats." Scarlet stated with gritted teeth.

"It really doesn't matter. If it is true that he is going to retreat, then that implies that he is not suitable for the job of protecting you. But if he doesn't, I hope that you will cooperate. You will only have one week to make him retreat. If you don't succeed, you will have to agree to having him by your side." The lady responded before she ended the call without giving Scarlet a chance of saying anything.
