Kingdom & Betrayal Quest Completed (6)

[Bloodbound Grimoire]

>>The Bloodbound Grimoire serves as the ultimate guide to mastering Hemomancy, a forbidden school of magic centered around the manipulation of blood.

[Warning: This ancient book harbors forbidden arts capable of unleashing adverse effects on the practitioner. Wield with utmost caution.]

The room fell silent as he produced the book, its bloodthirsty aura pulsating and seemingly calling out to Magnus. The crimson-red aura swirled through the air, merging with Magnus.

The book appeared incredibly sinister, with covers adorned with veins channeling both green and red blood. Ancient runic symbols were etched on the cover, lighting up as the blood flowed through the veins.

'This book is dangerous and powerful...Rasoul thought inwardly.

Magnus calmly accepted the book from Rasoul. Biting his finger, he dropped a drop of blood on the cover. As soon as he did that, the book settled down, and the sinister aura it emitted ceased. It seemed Magnus had taken control of the book. He flipped through the pages before stowing it away.

He turned to the individuals around him and flashed a sinister smile, indicating he was more than ready to unleash chaos with the knowledge from the book. Rasoul simply shook his head before retrieving a sword from his inventory.

The sword he extracted was a masterpiece, crafted from a blend of gold and sapphire. Its hilt was made of pure cold iron, with subtle sapphire lines etched on it. The crossguard bore intricately engraved lion heads, their eyes gleaming with an ethereal radiance. The blade is long and steady, making it the perfect sword for a knight.

Passive Abilities:

[Courage Infusion]

>>The Lionheart Blade infuses its wielder with the courage of a lion. In moments of adversity, the wielder experiences a surge in strength, both physical and mental, enhancing their combat prowess.

[Resilient Aura]

>>A protective aura envelops the wielder, shielding them from harm. The blade's essence grants increased resilience, reducing the impact of physical and magical attacks.

[Roaring Might]

>>When swung with determination, the Lionheart Blade emits a powerful roar akin to a lion's, stunning and disorienting foes within its vicinity. This allows the wielder to seize the advantage in the chaos of battle.

[Feline Agility]

>>The sword enhances the agility of its wielder, allowing it to move with the grace and swiftness of a hunting lion. This agility proves invaluable for dodging attacks and swiftly closing the distance in combat.

[Confidence Boost]

>>The Lionheart Blade instills unwavering confidence in its wielder, dispelling doubt and fear. This psychological enhancement further bolsters the cultivator's combat abilities and strategic decision-making.

[Roar of Command]

>>Once per battle, the Lionheart Blade enables the wielder to unleash a commanding roar that inspires allies within earshot. This roar not only boosts their morale but also imparts a temporary surge in strength and resilience to all those fighting alongside the swordbearer.

Rasoul continued to gaze at the sword in his hands. He could feel a surge of courage coursing through his veins. He understood that the wielder of this sword would undoubtedly be a formidable force to reckon with.

He intended to give it to Lara, but she rejected the offer, citing a reason that took him by surprise.

"Rasoul, that sword is meant for a knight. I am not fit to wield it, so create a suitable subordinate or find someone more suited to bring out its glory."

Knowing there was no denying that fact, he stored the sword away and moved on to the last item—an intricate sword technique that seamlessly blended swordplay with dance moves. The technique was impressive, but he realized it wasn't suitable for any of them. With 21 subordinates remaining, he was determined to create a unique class, combining dance and swordplay, for one of them.

He then turned to the system to upgrade some abilities before their departure to the forest. With the materials currently in his possession, he could create five more subordinates before the war began. Understanding the importance of having all hands on deck, he wanted to ensure he was surrounded by powerful subordinates.

Moreover, the war would serve as the best opportunity to harvest some Saints, and hopefully Semi-Saints and even Sage cores and bodies. He didn't know the strength of his opponents, but he was confident he would be able to emerge unscathed.

'System, use two upgrade passes to upgrade the NecroSmith ability to the next two tiers.

[Finally]...The system seems to be excited for reasons unknown.

[Necro-Smith Upgrade initiated...]

[Upgrade will take 20 minutes]

Rasoul wanted to get the most out of the 10 Peak sages he farmed during the staged event the King orchestrated. He wanted to also take the king's body but that might have caused an uproar.

After 20 minutes the system chimed.

'Damn, this is too good to be true,' Rasoul muttered to himself after inspecting the upgrades to his most powerful ability - NecroSmith.

'I guess it's time to give Valkyrie her technique...Rasoul said inwardly as he retrieved a technique book he had been holding on to for some time now from his inventory. He studied it for a few seconds before gesturing for Valkyrie to step forward.

"I will impact the technique to you but first I want you to see if it's perfect for you...He then handed the book to Valkyrie. She flipped through it for a few minutes before handing it back to him to go ahead.

(Author's Note: Read Chapter 65 for a complete understanding of the kind of technique Rasoul is about to impart to Valkyrie.)

Rasoul then turned to the system to start the process.

[NecroSmith Bestow function Enabled]

[Does the host wish to bestow the Technique: Harmonic Resonance to his Subordinate Valkyrie]

'Yes

[Process started]

[Time until Completion: 5 minutes]

Valkyrie was instantly flooded with a myriad of information. Hundreds of abilities, songs, melodies, spells, tutorials on mastering instruments, and much more streamed into her mind. After a five-minute surge, the influx of information ceased.

Quickly assuming the lotus posture, Valkyrie began the process of assimilating the knowledge she had just acquired. Despite receiving the entirety of the technique, most aspects were locked. To get access, she had to master the opened steps first.

He also wanted to use the upgraded NecroSmith ability on Lara but she declined. She wanted to start slowly on her own and when she finally got her hand on the Crystal at the auction, she would allow him to bestow the technique to her.

After two hours in her meditative lotus position, Valkyrie finally rose to her feet with a huge smile. he had just acquired something that would aid her forever as long as she continued to master the steps in the technique.

After he made sure everything was in place, they visited the Princess's chambers once again before making their way back to the Dark Forest.

"So are you going to tell us where these four came from...Princess Vina couldn't help but ask pointing at the new additions. The past few days have been hectic for her so she didn't get enough time to think about anything aside from Vira.

"They are all my brothers and sisters, and we are going back to bring the rest of our siblings," Rasoul said with a sly smile.

The Princess still believing Rasoul is from the Dark Forest couldn't help but ask again..."Home, as in the Dark Forest.

"Yes. We'll be leaving now but will be back before the war starts. Sabrat will stay behind to make plans on how to better defend the Kingdom...Rasoul said.

"Do you think we can win the war...Vira asked in a defeated tone.

"Don't lose hope just yet Vira. The Six Kingdoms are playing with fire and soon we'll show them that a new queen is in town...Lara replied with determination written all over her face.

Hearing this, Princess Vina couldn't help but smile. She knew this battle would be decided by the White-haired individuals in front of her. She knew to win this war, she would have to listen to everything they would have to say.

"Alright then, I will be counting on you all to protect my Kingdom...The Princess said after realizing there was nothing to worry about for now. There are still 2 weeks left to make preparations.

"Remember, don't forget to contact me when things begin to change. Sabrat will be coming, so relax a little," Rasoul said and then retrieved a token from his space ring and handed it over to the Princess.

"Should anything happen, gather all the orphans and activate this token, they will be teleported to safety.

After saying that, he said his last goodbyes before turning and walking outside. His subordinates followed him. He knew he had done everything he could for the Orphans. If things get really bad, at least they'll be safe.

Lara, still in the room, whispered something to the Princess. "He's soft for orphans, so don't hesitate to exploit that."

After saying that, she walked outside and joined her team as they started making their way out of the city. Once they were about 1 km away from the city, Rasoul bought a teleportation scroll, and they instantly teleported to the Dark Forest.
