Beginning of the Waltz

Third Person PoV

The band of friends and lovers moved towards their destination, the Akatsuki residence.

"So where is Yuuma?"

"In the lab of Mimori-san."

"I see."

"Ano, senpai, why are your eyes red? You are not using your familiars."

"I am not, this is just a side effect."

Kojou refused to explain more and turned to the new backup of Natsuki-chan.

"So, you are like a backup? How long till Natsuki-chan comes back?"

"1 hour and 23 minutes. But she will only get her memories back, as her body will be unable to handle that much magic power, you can wait 10 years for it, Nya!"

"Now it's a cat?" Kojou muttered in frustration.

"It will be fine Kojou, we only need to stay still for an hour or so, after that we can make a plan to handle this, Minamiya-sensei will be a very good addition."

"Hai-de gozaru!" The moving tank said.

"And how long do we have before the island sinks?"

"1 hour and 30 minutes, de-gozaru!"

"So we have seven minutes to find, fight, and capture Aya Tokoyogi? Pretty tight, even if I can teleport."

Kojou said.

"It would seem I must go to the keystone gate and help the island management, boyfriend-dono!"

"Sure, go ahead." Kojou said, even though the tank girl didn't need his permission for this.

"Anyone with any ideas?"

Asagi asked, looking at the pretty large group they had, surely these many people could come up with a good plan.

"I have nothing, as I am not sure of Aya Tokoyogi's strength." Sayaka said.

"Me too." La Folia chimed in.

"Kojou-kun will do something!"

"I do think Aiba-senpai is better at making plans than me."

"I believe in Onii-san's strength."

"Astarte only follows commands."

Asagi sighed hearing that, it would seem she was the only brains of their group.

Asagi knew that La Folia could plan but she was deliberately not doing so, it may have something to do with the argument she had on her phone a while ago.

*Sigh*

Asagi wondered how she was going to plan to defeat and capture a person smart enough to outwit all of them in seven minutes.

Well, the answer was pretty easy, just get Kojou to do it. He could easily solve all of this if he could get a new blood vassal.

The problem was that in their present group, Kojou had already drunk all of their blood, so while it may help him a bit, it isn't a full-stop solution to his current predicament.

She looked to find Kojou having a smile on his face, a stupidly large smile.

"What happened, Kojou?"

"Well, the solution to all of our problems is walking towards us."

"You mean Yuuma?"

"Yes."

"Isn't she injured and in your mother's lab?"

"Well, not now it would seem."

Kojou said and sped up, the group followed him and turned around the next corner and came face to face with a familiar face.

Yuuma was standing, leaning on the wall, in a hospital gown that only reached to her mid-thighs.

Her skin looked pale and she had seen better days. Seeing Kojou her eyes twinkled with hope and she opened her mouth to speak.

"Ko-!?"

But before she could, everyone, herself included, looked at the lampost further away from them.

"So you wish to go against me even after being punished, doll?"

Aya Tokoyogi stood there with the No. 14 Grimoire. An amused smile on her face.

'Well, fuck! I doubt she would give me enough time to drink Yuuma's blood.'

But he thought of something crazy. He might dig himself a bigger hole with what he was about to do, but he reasoned it would be worth it.

"Well-well-well, isn't it the insecure mother that her daughter is better than her?"

Kojou said, sneering at Aya. Everyone looked at him in surprise, he didn't do this kind of thing.

"Has the power finally gotten to your head, Boya? But it would seem I must end your pathetic life here, not that you will be able to do anything in a while."

Kojou wondered what she meant by that but he didn't want to take any chances and he summoned his latest familiar.

"Come, Sadalmelik-Albus!"

The Undine once again rose, with a sadistic smile on her face, but her target wasn't Aya but someone else.

Aya teleported from one lampost to another and laughed seeing Kojou attack miss or rather do nothing.

What she failed to see was the tail of the familiar touching a certain someone.

"Hoh? Was that all Boya?"

Aya said amused as gradually the familiar vanished into thin air and Kojou returned to normal, his eyes now blue and no fangs.

"What?"

It wasn't just Kojou who was stumped by this, the others were too, as Sayaka's Koukarin became too heavy for her to lift and other magical powers also stopped working.

Astarte who was about to summon her own familiar was unable to do so.

La Folia and Kanon also understood that but Asagi also noticed that nothing happened to Sekkarou.

"Yukina-chan, is your magic working just fine?"

"Yes, Aiba-senpai."

"Then be prepared, you might have to fight here, alone."

Yukina only gave a determined nod to that. She had been shaken, seeing Kojou lose his powers like that, he was the 4th Primogenitor, nothing could handle his powers so how had he lost them?

"This is the power of the Dark Oath Grimoire. This island has already become my own world, all supernatural powers aside from my own are useless."

Aya said, and teleported just in time to miss a spear being lodged in her face. While she was being a villain Yukina had started her attack.

She teleported behind Natsuki-chan and attempted to take hold of her, but Kojou, seemingly having seen through her, took Natsuki-chan with him and jumped back.

"Hmph! Your efforts, while admirable, are worth nothing. Le Ombre."

The black knight appeared and smacked Kojou who used his body to shield Natsuki-chan.

He crashed into the wall and fell down, coughing up blood. He pushed Natsuki-chan behind him and looked at the imposing dark knight.

The above sequence happened too quickly for anyone to react without magic, while Yukina was entrapped in a cage.

Le Ombre raised its sword to cut down Kojou but he still smiled, his plan had worked.

"Still smiling, 4th Primogenitor? You are not my opponent after losing your powers."

"Well I am not, but I am also not the one who will be fighting you!"

Kojou said with a shit-eating grin on his face.

"All that bravado for nothing."

The Knight swung its sword and the people there held their breaths. None of them were able to reach between the sword and Kojou.

But the sword never slashed him, it was stopped mid-swing by a golden hand.

"What? The Golden Guardian?"

Aya screamed in shock.

"You sure like to play dangerously, Akatsuki. Well, I can't doubt you for that, you do have such a monstrous familiar."

Natsuki-chan walked from behind Kojou, dreaded in her Gothic Lolita clothes and a fan in her hand.

"You took good care of my students, Aya. Allow me to repay your hospitality."

With a swing of her fan, the prison surrounding Yukina broke easily.

"But how? Personal History Manipulation Grimoire still has your memory?"

"Yeah it does, but this idiot's familiar simply reverted me to my original state, or at least till what Akatsuki wanted me to be. Now I will be taking the book and my time back."

With another swing of her fan, the book from Aya's hand vanished and the chains of void captured the black knight.

"Akatsuki, handle the sinking of the island, I will take care of Aya."

With that, the two mature witches teleported back to the core of this world, as designated by Aya Tokoyogi by the power of Minamiya Natsuki.

"I am still powerless, you know Natsuki-chan!"

Kojou groaned and stood up and looked at Yuuma who still looked like she had her magic.

"Well here goes nothing."

Kojou, despite being quite hurt, stood up with his hands on his knees and looked at Yuuma.

Slowly he stood up and began to move towards the injured witch.

"Onii-san are you fine?"

"Yeah."

Kojou said he reached near and held her by her shoulders. Yuuma looked at him in surprise.

"How did you-!?"

"You are her clone, you would be able to use your magic, well grit your teeth, it won't be pleasant, I don't have my fangs."

Kojou whispered into his childhood friend's ear and opened his mouth to brutally bite her nape.

"Aaah!"

Everyone was watching Kojou bite Yuuma like a cannibal, but only Asagi understood why he was doing this.

Kojou's teeth broke through the skin of Yuuma and the scent of iron along with a metallic taste assaulted his senses.

Kojou gulped, and with a single gulp his powers came back, his fangs grew and punctured into the skin of Yuuma, sucking her blood.

"Kooo~jou, I am*Aahn~* injured~"

Yuuma said through gasps as the pain was replaced by pleasure, not to mention he made her a blood servant from the get-go.

But he didn't grant her a familiar, he had a budding plan in his mind, one to kill two birds with one stone.

And finally, his Eleventh Familiar acknowledged him as its rightful owner. Kojou felt his magical energy swell ridiculously.

'Albus might as well be my strongest familiar, ability-wise.'

The ability to reverse anything was too broken, even conceptual existence was not able to overcome it.

However the thought process of Kojou was cut short when an earthquake happened.

"Kojou, I know it feels good but please, the island is sinking."

Asagi said. Kojou took his face off the nape of Yuuma and held her by her waist.

"Come, Natra-Cinereus."

And with that, the entire island was covered in mist.

"Hand back the Grimoire, Natsuki. Do you still want to stay like a doll?"

"Forget it Aya, I won't try to talk some sense into you this time, just surrender and go back to the prison barrier."

By now Natsuki-chan had recovered to her normal state, having gained back her time.

"I won't give up, I will show those bastards the true face of the world. Le Ombre!"

"That was what you said ten years ago, Aya. Reingold!"

The golden guardian and the black knight fought, but it was quite obvious that Aya was on the losing side.

Le Ombre, having bonded with Yuuma for almost a decade, was not really in tune with Aya, while there was no such problem for Reingold.

And just in a few moments was tied up in purple chains from the void.

Just then the barrier of the heart of the world created by Aya was destroyed by a sheep bashing into it.

"Oh? Over already?" Kojou muttered.

"Hmph, I do not work inefficiently like you, Akatsuki."

Kojou didn't comment on that but motioned to Yuuma who was now mostly healed, except her spiritual pass.

"Return to your princess, blue knight!"

"Didn't know you were the one for theatrics, Natsuki-chan."

"Don't call your teacher by 'chan'!"

And Le Ombre was torn from Aya and Yuuma called out her guardian's name.

"Le Bleu!"

With that Yuuma was completely healed. But Aya wasn't done just yet. Unlike who was in excruciating pain when her guardian was taken, she didn't give anything more than a grunt.

She had done this a decade ago so she knew how painful this was.

"To think a bunch of high school going heretic rejects would foil my plan. But I won't give up, this isn't over yet!"

Purple flames began to blazer around the cornered witch and her form changed.

"Don't, Aya!"

Natsuki-chan all but screamed but her pleas fell on deaf ears. And flames with glowing white eyes replaced Aya Tokoyogi.

"What is that, some kind of trump card?" Kojou wondered but his question was held by most.

"Lost. It's a witch's final form, she gives up her soul to a demon to become a demon."

Natsuki-chan explained.

"You are no less of a demon with the homework and the test questions."

Kojou muttered while Asagi nodded in affirmation.

"No one can stop Mom now, she is already gone."

Yuuma muttered in frustration, she didn't even get to talk to her one last time.

"You know, well forget it I will just show it. Sadalmelik-Albus!"

Kojou said in amusement, and the Undine easily reversed Aya to her normal form, with her soul intact.

'With this, I can regenerate their hymens and hehe!- No Kojou, get your mind off the gutter!'

Everything was stunned, especially the witches, what he did was honestly scary.

"I never stood a chance did I? I just got lucky."

Aya Tokoyogi screamed in frustration and fell to her knees in despair, even at the cost of her soul she wouldn't be able to do anything.

She would be tossed back into the prison, with no one to talk to, no one to speak to.

"Well you did get lucky, but that is also a skill in itself, so don't put yourself down too much, everyone is equally outmatched when the opponent is the strongest vampire in the world."

Kojou said to motivate the witch but his words didn't register in her ear, she was busy in her own self-loathing.

Finally, Kojou turned towards Natsuki-chan and spoke.

"So what now? Are you going back to prison?"

"Yes, but we will meet soon."

"Why don't you shut it down? I mean why do you even use that spell, all those legendary criminals are easily killed."

"It's not for that, I am the only one who can use this spell, and I am a Japanese government attack mage, it is my duty."

"Natsuki-chan, the Japanese government would sell Itogami island for one promise of alliance with any one of the dominions, why are you still working for them? What have they done every time the island is in danger, it's either LKO, you, or Kojou."

Asagi said.

"It may be but you said it, I helped and I represent the Japanese government here."

"They don't even rule over us, we have our own set of rules and ruling people. Just give it up, the world won't stop if you stop a single spell."

Kojou argued.

"It won't but I won't stop it, it is something I have to do."

Kojou stayed silent for some moments and then spoke up.

"I see that unless there are no more prisoners you won't stop the spell, but you won't kill the prisoners, and stopping the spell voluntarily will put you on a hit list. Fine then."

With those words Kojou began to move towards the now silent Aya, sitting on the rooftop in despair, his fangs out and his eyes red.
