Chapter 227

Reeling his hand back, he straightened his palm before stabbing it into her core like a blade. With that action, the woman froze and the small red sphere she made dissipated.

Calmly, Igor looked at the woman who was glaring at him with eyes that could kill. There was no emotion on his face. Like a switch that had been flicked on, he had turned into the killing machine that slaughtered the Himejima Clan.

"Now…who might you be?"

Aurelia sat rooted on the spot in astonishment. One moment, Igor was here. The next, she saw him brandish his aura blade against a woman completely clad in a black skin-tight bodysuit. Her head was covered in a black mask, leaving only a hole for her mouth. Without hesitation, he severed her legs and right arm, a cruel method to cut off her mobility.

It was also the moment when Aurelia finally acted. Immediately, she slammed her palm on the floor and sealed off the entire Gremory Estate in a massive barrier. Without her permission, no one would enter nor leave.

At the same time, Igor had already disabled the attacker. Just from sensing the energy, she could tell he had used some sort of method to prevent the woman from utilising her magic power.

"Now…who might you be?"

The way he so casually asked this question made Aurelia realise just how dangerous he could be should he choose to be. It was a completely stark contrast to the previous him who seemed so close to dozing off on the couch.

"Aurelia. Would you mind removing their mask? My hands are occupied."

"..."

'Occupied' he says. One hand had clasped the woman firmly by the throat while the other was buried deep into her stomach. The staggering amount of blood coated around Igor's sleeves momentarily dazed her.

"Sister?"

"Yes, my lord."

Aurelia could only be glad the children weren't here to see this. Be it adrenaline or something else, the woman was no longer screaming in pain despite losing three of her limbs. It was a tasteless thought to have, but Aurelia was curious as to who could be trained to maintain their cool even as their severed limbs pooled the carpets with their blood.

Once she removed the mask, Aurelia was genuinely filled with surprise.

"A Gremory?"

Sirzechs experienced a mix of emotions at this sudden turn of events. Key among them was embarrassment, surprise, and anger. Right here in his own home, someone actually had the gall to spy on them when he was entertaining two very important guests.

Most shocking of all, the person who dared to do this was his aunt.

"..."

He was angry. He was very, very angry. His fists were clenched as he glared at that familiar figure.

Fortunately, Igor had found her in time. If she was able to leave after learning so much information, everything he planned would've been ruined.

[I underestimated them.]

Just the equipment alone, equipment that could conceal her from a Maou was something he knew his aunt would never be able to acquire normally. Someone gave it to her and Sirzechs greatly suspected the Old Satan Faction to have pulled the strings.

Finally, the Gremory couple also reacted. They had stood up quickly, their eyes revealing their shock at the sudden turn of events.

Zeoticus, upon looking at his sister held against the wall…only felt a twinge of sadness. Even with all three of her limbs dismembered, even with her lifeforce visibly dwindling as the seconds trickled by, he did not feel anger or resentment.

All he felt…was resignment.

"Eunice. I never thought it would come to this."

From his words alone, it was clear there was more to this story. But regardless of their differences, family was family. Unfortunately, Eunice's act of spying on such a meeting meant she would not live no matter what…something he already accepted.

It was a hollow realisation Zeoticus had, but Igor did not care for the sombre atmosphere.

"Lucifer."

He slowly turned to face Sirzechs.

"Will you question her or can I eliminate her?"

Igor felt nothing. With how casually he spoke of killing her, his tone of voice could be the same as one used when speaking of taking out the trash. There were no fluctuations at all when he uttered his words, something Sirzechs picked up keenly.

He did not know whether to commend or fear how callous Igor was to sentient life.

"Let me question her, Dimori-san."

Eunice was absolutely dripping with venom-fueled rage. Everything. EVERYTHING had been ruined by this brat! But more than anything, her hatred for Sirzechs reached a newfound level.

"Sirzechs Gremory. *Cough* To think you would conspire to kill me."

She did not even look at the boy who wounded her so grievously. Her eyes were entirely on Sirzechs. She could no longer commit suicide even if she wanted to. But more than anything, she hated the small smile he had on his face.

Unfortunately, that smile was something intrinsic to Sirzechs, a factor that would never change.

"It's a pleasure to meet you as well, aunt. I have a few questions I would like answered if you don't mind?"

"Ptui!"

Eunice spat at him. But without moving a finger, her spit was destroyed by the power of destruction. Slowly, the smile Sirzechs had faded.

"Aunt. Please do not test my patience."

A massive killing intent flooded the room as his eyes turned red.

"I have much, much worse methods to make you suffer."

And the true Sirzechs finally showed himself. He no longer hid his cold hatred for Eunice, a hatred that would see her torn apart by any means necessary. Her proposing her sister be set up for political marriage on terms worse than a slave's was something he would never EVER forgive.

Venelana knew her son despised his aunt, but never imagined he would hold such immense killing intent for her. The only time she felt such hatred emanate from him was hundreds of years ago.

"Sir-Sirzechs…"

She was worried about what he would do out of anger if this continued.

"Calm dow-"

"Leave him, Venelana. Don't worry."

It was Zeoticus who stopped her. He was also worried about his son, but Sirzechs was a man now and did not need their coddling.

"Let's leave. Rias and the other children must be confused and no one better than you can take care of them."

Aurelia had made no intent to hide the barrier she deployed. Chaos and confusion would inevitably be caused and it had to be handled. This could also be considered as giving Venelana some leeway to leave without having to see her son like this.

"Alright…"

Slowly, she turned and walked away. Venelana was not weak of heart, but seeing her son release so much hatred was a sight she could not bear. Even worse, there was nothing she could do about it.

"Curse you, Sirzechs! Curse you! You heartless fiend!"

Eunice cared not for her injuries as she uttered profanities at Sirzechs. She blamed her current state on him. Originally a calm woman and calculative woman, Eunice held the belief that were it not his conspiracy, she wouldn't have gotten so agitated that she'd make the mistake of revealing herself.

"Is this how low this family has fallen? To conspire to kill your own blood?!"

Unfortunately for Eunice, Sirzechs remained calm as he walked to her.

"Aunt Eunice. I believe you know the end results. Control your tone and cooperate, and I will ensure a smoother and faster passage to the other side. Anything less…you don't want to do anything less."

No longer was there a smile. His undisguised hatred had calmed beneath an expressionless facade. But the eyes never lied. Despite calming his aura and murderous intent, Sirzechs had to hold himself from killing her on the spot, especially when he had more than suitable reason to do so.

"Let us start with something simple. What is your name and clan?"

"?"

Igor couldn't help but questioningly look at Sirzechs. He was curious why he would ask something so simple, but he didn't ask.

"Hehe-*Cough Cough*. Don…don't try this method with me, Sirzechs. I know this method. It will not work."

"..."

Sirzechs was unfazed by her stubbornness. In fact, it only served to confirm even more that there was some sort of organisation behind her. For her to be able to ignore such debilitating injuries spoke of professional training she wouldn't have received in the Gremory Clan.

Still, he had his own methods for extracting information from even the staunchest of agents.

"Dimori-san."

A very small red orb of destruction formed on his fingertip.

"How long can you suppress her magic?"

Igor's hand that had pierced into her stomach was covered in a layer of red aura.

"I've sealed off her magic by congesting the point where her demonic energy intersects. As long as I have my hand in there, she won't be able to use magic. I can destroy it if you want. That will permanently prevent her from using magic ever again."

"?!"

No matter how much she tried to keep her composure, Eunice could not hide the shock when Igor just casually revealed that he could prevent her from using magic forever. Even Sirzechs was slightly surprised when Igor mentioned this capability.

However, there would be time later to query this information.

"I see. Then…"

Sirzechs looked into Eunice's pleading eyes.

"...please cripple her, Dimori-san."

It brought him a sadistic pleasure to see the shock in her eyes when Igor replied…

"With pleasure."

Igor suddenly flooded her core region with his demi-ki and spread it throughout her body. Because there was such a large power discrepancy between them, she couldn't resist even if she were to become ten-times stronger.

"AAAAAAAAH!"

Slowly, all her pathways ruptured under the sudden deluge of energy. Like water pipes bursting, demi-ki spilled into her body and organs. Eunice felt like lava was spreading through her body and where it passed, weakness followed.

She could feel it. She was losing her magic.

"NO! NO! PLEASE NO! NOOOOOOO!!!!"

This wouldn't be a case of having low demonic power. This would be a case of having no demonic power. She would become weaker than a human, something she desperately did not wish for. Unfortunately, Igor was not merciful enough to kill her.

"Aaaaaaah…AAAAAAAAH!"

She wailed as reality set in. The damage was being done in real time. She could feel the remnants of her demonic power escape through her skin. No matter how much she tried, she couldn't keep it in her body.

"Done."

Uncaring for her sobs, he removed his hand from the gaping hole in her stomach. With a quick flash of ki, he 'burnt' all the blood and flesh from his hand and coat.

"She's all yours, Lucifer."

Holding the now lifeless Eunice like a handbag, Igor gestured for Sirzechs to take her.

"Thank you for your help, Dimori-san."

Even when Sirzechs held her, Eunice showed no reaction. All that was there were her tears flowing down her cheeks. What happened to her was cruel and disheartening. Unfortunately, neither of the three people here had any sympathy in them.

"My…my magic…"

All that was left was emptiness. Now there was truly no hope for her. Even if phoenix tears were to be used to reattach her limbs, she would be disposed of by her backers. And that would be if Sirzechs let her go, something that would never happen.

"Dimori-san. Aurelia-san. It seems this meeting must be cut short for now. But I will be back before nightfall. I will send a member of my peerage to accompany you during your stay. I would say you can feel free to explore, but…"

Aurelia knew where he was getting at.

"We understand, Lucifer-san. Please conduct your business with peace of mind."

"..."

Truthfully, he was more worried about Igor causing some sort of mishap, but he trusted Aurelia could restrain him to some degree…hopefully.

"Alright."

With a magic circle forming underneath him, he vanished.

Vwong!

No matter what, he would get answers from her by any means necessary. Torture was not above him.
