Just a Dhampir

A lanky figure wearing a green hoodie was preparing to leave his tacky dingy house in the bad part of town, when a shrill feminine voice called out from it's broken door.

"Hey!, Xavi?!! Have you had your lunch?"

The figure stopped for a bit and shook it's head as it shouted back.

"Err, I'll be eating at Bob's. Feel free to have seconds!. I won't be back until late so don't wait up."

Then it began jogging off into the distance.

This Figure belonged to a teenage boy with short blonde hair and blue eyes, he had a semi handsome face and was a bit tall, most requirements for a hot dude, but as he jogged, everyone he passed seemed to avoid him.

This was not very surprising when you consider his torn hoodie, hole ridden shoes, multiple scars accentuating his tan skin and lifeless sunken eyes.

He pulled out his cracked phone that had obviously seen better days and dialled a number.

The phone rang on the other side.

~Ring Ring~

"Dammit! Pick up, Max!!."

Soon, the call was answered as a male voice resonated from the small device

"Oh, yes, Xavian, was it? Yeah, meet me at the top of Nosrefreatu tower, and don't make me wait."

With a sigh, Xavian disconnected the call and made his way to the location, he had no other choice after all.

Nosrefreatu tower was a majestic work of art in the middle of Vapirus city.

It had been in the city for god knows how long and was one of the main tourists attractions, but one eerily creepy thing about it was the pull it had on people.

People who went near it were said to feel drowsy and nauseous, while still having an urge to go towards it nonetheless.

Anyway, it had been owned by the Drahk family for ages so it made sense for Max to ask to meet him there.

Xavian had reached the front of the black, self opening, gates that usually creaked open when an invited visitor approached.

'So creepy.'

The blonde teenager thought as he passed through and advanced up the many, many stairs. after about forty minutes of non-stop stairs, Xavian had arrived at the top of Nosrefreatu tower.

"Five minutes late.", A figure spoke from the darkness.

This figure belonged to Maximus Drakh.

Max was a slightly older teenage boy, that had long black hair parked in a ponytail and deep red eyes.

He was the only heir of the powerful Drakh family and as such, stank of money.

His watch was probably the cost of Xavian's neighborhood three times over, and his clothes,...his clothes were all designers that worth more than a million for each piece.

The Drakh family truly were rich.

"Now that you're here,..."

He continued,

"...I have a proposal that would help with your little money problem"

The next day, Xavian woke up extra early.

He was excited to start his new job today after all.

On the way to class, he bumped into a nerdy boy with glasses and brown hair parted from it's middle.

"Hey man, what's up?" The boy asked.

This boy was his closest,... actually, only friend, Robert Brent.

He and Robert had been best friends since they met at kindergarten, little Xavian had always been getting into trouble and little Bob was usually always there to bail him out.

Due to this, they had a rather close friendship that only a typical troublemaker and class nerd could share.

"Nothing much...", Xavian replied.

"Only that, I just hit a jackpot."

"Jackpot?"

"Yeah, I got a new job. I met a guy and he offered me a paying job.."

"Is it f..."

"No, it isn't full time. I just gotta go down to Bloodline and donate blood once a week."

Bob shrugged and started heading to class.

"As far as it's not TOO dangerous. Don't forget what happened last time"

"Yeah", Xavian thought as he followed behind.

"Last time."
