Shen Lan noticed that her daughter's mouth hadn't stopped.
When Ji Yao slyly took another tomato, Shen Lan grabbed her arm.
"You can't eat anymore, or your stomach will hurt," she coaxed softly.
Ji Yao dropped her eyes in disappointment, "Oh."
Shen Lan felt a pang of heartache upon seeing this.
Looking at Feng Hui, "Ahui, Yaoyao likes your vegetables, could you spare some for me?"
Ji Yao's eyes suddenly lit up.
Longingly staring at Feng Hui, she looked almost greedy.
Feng Hui laughed, "Of course, as long as Yaoyao's sickness gets better, you can have them all."
"Then thank you."
Shen Lan stayed a little longer, then took some vegetables and went home.
Shen Lan's husband was named Ji Su, a fairly significant government official in the county.
The family lived in the government compound.
As mother and daughter approached their home, Ji Su was just about to go pick up his wife and child.
"You're back!" the man said with a smile.
