"You're threatening to bring an end to the relationship I have with your family? That is something," Jeffrey said, amused.

Right now, Jeffrey couldn't have Nathan leave his side. No one else could produce a large scale of quality weapons for the palace as the Wallaces did and the family's wealth wasn't something to ignore. 

The Wallace's were quite useful. 

"Come now. No need to go so far and involve your father."

Hazel chuckled as the king sounded ridiculous. "Why shouldn't I involve him? With how I am being treated, it feels like my father means nothing to the palace so I must tell him. I should be treated with respect but that isn't happening. Surely, my father should know how you treat his family."
