Chapter 101

Dio made the mistake of jumping into the hole he created, and he saw two more shurikens almost hitting him.

Dio turned his body, and they hit his shield on his back. Sensei took advantage of him by turning his back and running in his direction.

Dio drew his sword and swung it in a broad stroke, which Sensei dodged by ducking in surprise.

Dio returned to his attacking position and tried to thrust.

Dio's earlier suspicions turn out to be correct, and Sensei is able to take away his weapon by hitting it twice.

Dio's faithful sword was now in his hands, and Sensei tried to plunge it into Dio's heart.

Dio's blade passes through the thin energy layer around his body, which creates sparks.

Sensei was shocked and couldn't move quickly enough to avoid getting hit by his glowing gray ectoplasm on the palm of his hand.

It hit him lightly in the chest.

It was a light, swift blow, not powerful enough to knock down an ordinary human, but Sensei fell and slid on the ground next to him.

Ectoplasm serves so many purposes that it's not even possible to list them all.

However, its most powerful trait is its ability to attack spiritual things, and the soul is indeed spirit.

Dio hit Sensei's soul, but it wasn't strong enough to destroy it because souls are very hard to destroy.

Ra's is still further away with his sword in hand, while waiting for his opponent to tire or for an opportunity to arise.

Catwoman seems to need help.

She has managed to free herself, but her chain is still connected to the trunk where she was tied.

The two enemies are the two Mechanical Guardians.

She was able to wrap one of them around the trunk with her chain, but this made it harder for her to move, and now she's having trouble fighting the second one.

The Mechanical Guardians are slow, but judging by the piece of the trunk that one of their blows tore off, they are very powerful.

Dio gripped his sword and waited for the right moment. Dio has three goals in mind for a single attack, and timing is crucial.

The time has come, and he launches, and the ground explodes due to his sudden power.

It took Dio less than a second to go the distance, and as he passed over Batman, he raised his arms.

Dio took advantage of this opportunity to pass his sword between them to cut the chain.

Without stopping or losing speed, Dio leaves him behind, and the free Mechanical Guardian that is attacking Catwoman loses its head.

Dio didn't stop; his main target was ahead, Ra's Al Ghul.

Still, Ra's Al Ghul wasn't caught off guard.

In the small space between them, he threw four small silver balls in front of Dio's face.

The four balls all explode on his face at the same time and he can't change his direction in the air.

Dio rolled on the ground and stood up almost beside Catwoman, who was pulling her chain while trying to crush the Mechanical Guardian trapped in the trunk.

The explosives were not very strong and were meant to cause more distraction than harm.

Ra's Al Ghul used exactly the right amount of them to keep him away.

When Dio lost the element of surprise, he cut the chain that was around Catwoman's wrists, slashed the Guardian in the head with his sword, and destroyed it.

"Thanks for that, dear."

Catwoman said it with a very flirty voice.

Dio was certain she was not making an attempt to seduce him; such is her nature—she enjoys interacting with others, particularly teenagers like himself.

This was the second time he saw her up close, and the second impression of her was the same as the first.

The woman is simply beautiful.

She has short black hair, heavy black makeup, and very light red lipstick, but what catches attention about her are her green eyes, so green they almost seem to glow.

She's not very tall, but she's slim with a perfect gymnast's body.

The only thing that isn't black about her outfit is the silver zipper that goes from her neck to the bottom of her body.

The only thing she was wearing over her head were aviator-style glasses with yellow lenses.

"What's up?"

Catwoman asked while noticing how long Dio was looking at her.

It's normal for men to look at her with desire, but that wasn't his gaze.

Dio didn't have time to answer; an assassin wearing red flew past him while rolling on the ground and falling right in front of Ra's, who didn't even look at him.

"The demigod, now that's a surprise."

Ra's Al Ghul said while looking at him.

After being freed and defeating his enemies, Batman quickly joined them.

"If you're here, it means Sensei was defeated. Is he alive?"

Ra's asked, but there is no sign of concern in his voice.

"He's unconscious inside one of the buildings."

Dio replied to him.

"So, you spared him. Another one that has been tainted with the completely absurd concept of heroism."

Ra's Al Ghul sighed while shaking his head.

"It's over, Ra's."

Batman interrupted.

"Is it really?"

The assassins come out of the destroyed tower behind him, followed by some Mechanical Guardians.

"How I miss my whip right now."

Batman and Catwoman are practically unarmed and tired. She's not injured, but he has some cuts on his body, but nothing too deep.

Dio can't provide a utility belt for Batman, but he can help Catwoman.

"Here."

Dio raises his hand while holding a shiny gray ectoplasmic whip.

"Beautiful!"

Catwoman exclaimed excitedly while grabbing the whip.

The ectoplasm manipulation isn't enough to create complex weapons yet, but a whip is easy to make.

The main challenge was the cost of forming it.

"Bring me the detective, kill the rest!"

Ra's shouted while raising his sword and pointing it at them.

The fearless assassins then attacked.
