Chapter 1Prologue

In a dimly lit passageway, hundreds of human figures, both male and female, stood in eerie silence, their white garments illuminated by the faint blue flames flickering around them. The air was thick with tension as the sound of gears grinding echoed through the space. In front of them, a massive door began to shift, the ancient mechanisms creaking to life.

Slowly, the door groaned open, and light from beyond flooded the passage, casting a harsh glow on the assembled crowd. At the front, a man wearing a beaked helmet raised his hand, signaling the group.

"The Door of the Sun is open! Soldaten, slaughter them!" he commanded, his voice sharp and cold.

Without hesitation, the soldiers surged forward, rushing through the door into the light, all of them drawing their swords from their scabbards.

I hit the ground hard, landing beside my battle brother. As I steadied myself, I felt the cross around my wrist shift, drawing in the nearby reishi to form a bow in my hands, while my sword remained at my hip.

"Friedrich, let's move," my brother urged, and we rushed forward, catching the surprised Shinigami off guard. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Lord Accutrone raising his gun, ready to fire.

I released my first arrow, and it flew straight, piercing the Shinigami's throat with deadly precision. He dropped to the ground, life draining from him. 'Filthy scum.'

My brother charged at another Shinigami, his movements swift and brutal. The first strike shattered the Shinigami's stance, and with the second, my brother cleaved him cleanly in half, his body falling in two.

I scanned the battlefield quickly—chaos everywhere. My brethren tore through the Shinigami like sheep to slaughter. My first thought: *Pathetic. They're too weak to even pose a threat to the lowest Soldaten.*

Ahead, a group of Shinigami rushed toward us, swords drawn, desperation in their eyes.

Without hesitation, I turned to face them, releasing arrows in a fluid, rapid motion. They deflected each one with their blades. 'Fine, close quarters it is.'

I dashed forward, drawing my sword in one swift movement. My Blut surged, amplifying my strength as I collided with the first Shinigami, sending him flying with a single strike, leaving the others stunned.

'Sloppy.' My blade flashed, cleaving through the rest before they could react, cutting them down in a heartbeat.

'Hirenkyaku.' I was instantly before the airborne Shinigami, my sword slicing through his throat in one seamless motion. He hit the ground with a lifeless crash, his life vanishing in an instant.

"Friedrich!" I turned at the sound of the voice to see Robert Accutrone, a smile curling beneath his mustache. "I'll move swiftly. You continue slaughtering all the Shinigami in this sector—there's someone I need to find."

I nodded. "Yes, Lord Accutrone." Sheathing my sword, I leaped to a higher vantage point as Accutrone vanished in a flash of Hirenkyaku.

Soul Society had been completely overtaken by our fortress. They had no defenses left. The Shinigami were finished—this was our Majesty's victory.

Boom

A massive explosion roared through the air, and I saw something colossal cut through the fiery bubble of the blast.

"Lady Bambietta?" I could still sense her alive, barely. Without hesitation, I flashed forward with Hirenkyaku, rushing toward her falling point. Through the smoke and debris, I saw a comet-like figure plummeting from the heart of the explosion.

I saw the colossi fall to the ground as its mask cracked, it seemed that Lady Bambietta defeated this thing as a last attack.

'As expected from a Sternritter' I thought as I flashed faster and faster to finally arrive at the crash site of Lady Bambietta and as I expected she was there, crawling, bloody.

"Lady Bambietta!" I called out as I appeared in front of her. Her eyes widened in surprise, a mixture of relief and desperation flashing across her face.

"Friedrich, perfect timing, help me up!" she exclaimed, her voice laced with urgency.

I reached out and carefully wrapped my arm around her, feeling the weight of her weakened body. Her clothes were torn, singed by the explosion, and streaks of blood marred her usually flawless appearance. She gripped my arm tightly, her hand trembling as I gently pulled her to her feet. Her legs wobbled, barely supporting her, but she steadied herself with my help;

"Let's go find Giselle; she needs to heal me. Doggo was stronger than I thought," Bambietta grunted as I held her up, her frustration clear.

I tried to extend my senses to locate Giselle, but if Bambietta couldn't find her, I knew I stood no chance either. We were grasping at straws.

Suddenly, a monstrous pain shot through me, and I felt my skin prickle, every nerve on edge.

"Well, looks like you got roughed up pretty badly, Bamby!" A cocky voice rang out, accompanied by the crackle of thunder. Wait, thunder ?

'W-Why?' The pain intensified, and I collapsed to my knees, dragging Bambietta down with me.

"L-Lady Candice... why?" I managed to groan, struggling to catch my breath as I sensed the scent of burnt skin.

"Huh? Oh, didn't see you there, Friedrich," Candice Catnip smirked, her eyes gleaming with sadism. "I just wanted to congratulate our leader on such a blazing victory."

"Why are you attacking us? We're supposed to kill Shinigamis—it's His Majesty's order!" I shouted, my voice strained.

"Yeah, yeah, whatever, lapdog. Just die already." With that, she mimicked drawing a bow with her fingers.

'Shit!' I unsheathed my sword, desperately trying to parry her attack. But the moment her Reishi bolt hit, my sword shattered like glass, and before my Blut could activate, the force slammed into me like a train. The impact knocked the wind out of me, and I felt my body soar through the air, numb to any pain but fully aware of the overwhelming force.

I heard a noise and instantly opened my eyes, jumping to my feet. In front of me stood Giselle, her familiar face twisted into a smile.

"Why don't you lay down for a bit, Friedrich?" she said sweetly. Her words sent a chill down my spine. I didn't respond; instead, I summoned a bow of reishi, my eyes immediately catching sight of Liltotto standing over Bambietta, who was muttering something.

"Why did you attack Lady Bambietta and me?" I demanded, my voice sharper this time, filled with caution. I could feel the Blut coursing through my body, reinforcing my defenses. There was no way I was going to be caught off guard again.

Before I could process it, the sound of crackling energy echoed through the air. I moved instinctively, using Hirenkyaku to blur across the battlefield. I appeared in front of Liltotto in an instant, my palm connecting with her chest and sending her flying backward. Not wasting a second, I scooped Bambietta under my arm and shot into the sky, flying faster than I ever had, faster than when Lord Haschwalt himself had trained me.

"These bitches... when I recover, they're all dead," Bambietta growled, clenching her fist tightly, her voice trembling with rage.

"Lady Bambietta, we need to find Lord Haschwalt ," I urged, keeping my eyes focused on the chaos behind us. "He will bring justice for what they've done."

I sensed it—a sudden shift in the air. Without thinking, I dodged to the right, just in time as a grotesque yellow mouth made of Reishi lunged past me, tearing through the air where I had just been. I watched in horror as it grazed my clothing, disintegrating the fabric in an instant as it chewed through it with those snapping jaws. My eyes widened as the mouth continued past me, its jaws clamping down on a nearby cloud, devouring it in a single, vicious snap. 'What the hell was that?' I thought, my pulse racing.

"Liltotto's Schrift," I heard Bambietta mutter under her breath. Her voice was strained but determined. "Move your ass, I'm going to blow these traitors myself."

I felt the shift in the air as Bambietta began absorbing the surrounding Reishi, gathering energy. The wind suddenly changed direction behind me, and then—*boom*—a blinding explosion lit up the sky. The sheer force of it shook the air around us.

"It won't be enough," Bambietta grumbled, "but I got a clean hit on the bimbo."

*The bimbo?* I thought, momentarily confused, but I had no time to dwell on it. I kept moving rapidly, my eyes locked on the distant tower where Lord Haschwalt was supposed to be.

"BAMBIETTA!" A voice screamed from behind, filled with fury.

"Dodge!" Bambietta's voice rang out sharply. My body moved on pure instinct, sidestepping just as a bolt of lightning crashed into a building beside me, evaporating it in an instant. The searing heat grazed me, but I was unharmed.

"Do you know, Bambietta, how many hours I spend each day making sure my hair looks this good?"

I didn't give her the chance to finish. 'I'm not sticking around for this.' I bolted toward the tower, pushing myself to the absolute limit. I wasn't their opponent, and I knew it. Lady Bambietta was barely hanging on, her body looking more like a corpse than a warrior. I could feel it—her last Reishi blast had drained everything from her.

I finally spotted the tower, pushing myself to the limit as I rushed toward it, every ounce of my speed fueling the mad dash. Behind me, I sensed the three other Sternritters. 'They're slower than I expected for people supposed to be stronger than any Soldaten.' That thought alone was unsettling, but I couldn't afford to dwell on it.

I crashed through the door, my heart pounding in my chest. Inside, I saw the Grandmaster, sword in hand, standing over two bodies. My eyes widened as I recognized them instantly—BG9 and Cang Du.

'What... what is happening here?' My thoughts raced, a sinking feeling settling in my gut. *Did the Shinigami do this? No, it can't be...*

"Soldaten Friedrich," the Grandmaster's voice cut through my confusion like a blade, "Bambietta and the others hiding by the door—what is it that makes you barge in here, disrupting His Majesty's sleep?"

His words were sharp, his gaze piercing, making me realize the gravity of the situation in an instant.

"Grandmaster, Bambietta defeated the Shinigami and needs urgent healing. I was helping her when these three ambushed us, trying to kill us," I said, pointing toward the three women as they stepped out of hiding.

"Defeated the Shinigami? She got butchered, you bastard!" Candice spat, her words sharp and biting. I glanced at Bambietta, confusion clouding my mind. She refused to meet my eyes, staring at the ground instead. But I saw it—her jaw clenched tightly, trembling with frustration.

"This bastard was immortal, you bitch!" Bambietta finally snapped, her voice breaking. "How could I kill him when he can't be killed?!"

"I see," the Grandmaster's voice resonated, cold and commanding, pulling everyone's attention toward him. "So, you lost."

Something warm splattered across my face. I reached up instinctively, touching my helmet. 'What…' My fingers came away wet with blood. Slowly, I turned my head to the right.

Bambietta's body lay there—headless. Her brain matter and blood splattered across my suit. 'What just happened?' My mind raced. 'How could the Grandmaster do this? She was just defeated, not a traitor… '

Before I could process any more, the Grandmaster's voice interrupted my thoughts.

"Soldaten Friedrich, come with me. His Majesty wishes to see you."

I stood frozen, questions swirling in my head. 'Why did he do that?' Bambietta was loyal, wasn't she?

"Yes, Grandmaster," I said, my voice steady despite the unease gnawing at me. I followed him, my feet moving automatically, but my mind was elsewhere. Before leaving, I turned one last time, glancing at the three pursuers. Their eyes were locked on Bambietta's lifeless body, shock written on their faces.

Giselle stood out the most, her reaction more intense—her eyes wide, filled with something deeper than surprise. 'There's something else there,' I thought, my gaze lingering on her. It wasn't just shock; it was... something darker.

We walked along the path, bathed in a soft azure light that felt eerily familiar, almost as warm as the glow of the Silbern. The air was thick with silence, every step weighed down by the gravity of where we were headed.

We entered a balcony, the space vast and cold. At its center stood a single throne, facing outward. Seated on it was a man, radiating authority. Flanking him was the new blood—chosen as His Majesty's successor, though it always puzzled me. 'Why him, when the Grandmaster has been here since before I was even born?'

I couldn't help but glance at the Grandmaster, my mind questioning it all, yet knowing better than to voice anything aloud.

"Friedrich," His Majesty's voice echoed, deep and resonant. The moment I heard it, I dropped to my knee without hesitation.

"Your Majesty," I responded, keeping my head bowed, my eyes fixed on the cold floor beneath me.

"Camaraderie is such a beautiful trait," he began, his voice calm, yet carrying an undeniable weight. "You aided your direct superior, even though she was not from your division. A rare quality among my children."

I felt the gravity of his words, but I didn't dare look up. I kept my gaze locked on the ground, every muscle tense, knowing that even the slightest misstep in this moment could be disastrous. His praise, though unexpected, was unsettling. I was never certain whether his words were meant as genuine approval or a test.

"But I have a question," His Majesty's voice cut through the silence like a blade. "Why would you save Bambietta of all people? She's not someone I envisioned you rescuing. She's killed members of your own division in her little outbursts."

I paused, carefully considering my response. It was true—I found Bambietta repulsive in every sense. Her reckless behavior, her lack of control, it disgusted me. But I wasn't here to let personal feelings dictate my actions. I was a soldier, and in my mind, saving an asset as powerful as Bambietta was the only logical choice.

"For the army, Your Majesty," I said, my voice steady. "Leaving her to die would have been a mistake. Despite her... murderous tendencies, she has value in the glorious Sternritter."

I kept my eyes low, knowing I had to tread carefully, each word chosen with precision.

I heard His Majesty chuckle softly, and I felt a bead of sweat trickle down my forehead. It was unusual—His Majesty didn't laugh often, and it made me slightly uneasy.

"Spoken like a true Quincy. Rise, Friedrich," His Majesty ordered. I stood up promptly, my movements swift and respectful, my cloak still dripping heavily with the Sternritter's blood.

"You have earned your place at the table of my Knights," His Majesty declared, forming a blade of pure Reishi as if preparing to cut himself in some ancient ritual. Just as he moved, an explosion rocked the entire castle, the blast so powerful that the ground beneath me trembled. I almost lost my footing, barely steadying myself as the walls seemed to shudder around us.

'Not now !' I grumbled in my head as I sensed an emotion that I don't feel a lot, Anger

His Majesty's hand froze mid-motion, and his gaze shifted to Uryu. The young successor turned toward the balcony, his sharp eyes scanning the horizon. "It seems to be the captain of the Twelfth Division, Your Majesty. He's placed charges of explosives beneath the castle."

His Majesty's expression darkened. "An annoying ant," he said coldly. "Go and resolve this. You shouldn't have much trouble killing him."

Uryu nodded without a word and vanished from sight in a single, fluid step of Hirenkyaku, leaving only the faintest trace of movement as he disappeared beyond the balcony.

"The ritual will wait," I heard His Majesty say, his voice calm despite the tremor in the air. My gaze flicked toward the doors. "It seems some of our Sternritters don't like to fight," he added, just as the doors exploded inward.

Through the smoke and debris, a man clad in strange light-based armor stepped in, flanked by what seemed to be his vice captain and two other captains—a white-haired child and a blonde woman. Their presence was unmistakable.

I instantly summoned a bow of reishi, ready to fire, but a firm hand stopped me. I glanced over and saw the Grandmaster, his expression unreadable as he unsheathed his sword and raised his shield.

"Take care of the vice-captains. I will handle the stronger ones," he ordered in a voice as cold as steel. I nodded, stepping back as the Grandmaster charged at the white-haired boy. The kid raised his blade just in time to block the strike. 'Fool.'

A chuckle escaped me as I watched the inevitable—one swing of the Grandmaster's sword sent the boy flying across the room. 'I know the Grandmaster's methods; after all, he was the one who trained me.' I could see the kid's struggle from here, barely holding his ground.

"Growl, Haineko!" the blonde Shinigami shouted just as I appeared in front of her. I noted with interest that her sword seemed to dissolve, transforming into a cloud of unfamiliar material that rushed toward me with alarming speed.

Before I could react, the other vice-captain, a woman, charged at me from the side, throwing a swift punch. Her movements were sharp and precise, clearly trained for close combat.

I parried her punch effortlessly, activating my Blut to absorb the force of her strike. Her fist collided with my arm, but she might as well have been hitting a wall. Confident in my strength, I retaliated with a sharp jab to her abdomen. The impact was immediate—or so I thought. She didn't flinch. Her expression remained perfectly still, as if my blow had never even landed.

"What?" The word slipped from my mouth before I could stop it. Confusion gripped me. How is that possible?

Before I could react, the woman I'd hit moved swiftly, grabbing my arm and locking it in place. I tried to wrench my arm free, but her grip was like iron—immovable. My muscles strained, yet I couldn't break free.

"Haineko!" the blonde Shinigami shouted, her voice sharp and commanding. The cloud of mist surged toward me like a deadly wave. It crashed against me, but my Blut held strong, shielding both me and my clothing from its corrosive effect.

'Weaker than I thought,' I mused, though the real issue became clear—I was physically weaker than this raven-haired Shinigami, and the blonde was going to be a constant annoyance with her ranged attacks.

I shifted my stance, enhancing my legs with Blut. With a quick burst of power, I drove my fist directly into the abdomen of the woman holding me. I felt her grip weaken as my blow connected. Seizing the moment, I redirected all my Blut into my arm, forcefully extracting myself from her grasp and taking a few quick steps back to gain distance.

'I need to create some space. But wait—where's the other one?'

My thoughts barely had time to catch up before a flash of metal appeared in my peripheral vision. 'Damn!' I ducked just in time, narrowly avoiding a sword strike from the blonde Shinigami.

'That was close.' I gritted my teeth in frustration. Enhancing my body with Blut once again, I prepared to engage her head-on, driving forward as I aimed to wear her down with close combat.

But then I saw her smile—a wicked, knowing grin—as she tossed something toward me. My eyes caught the dark cube hurtling in my direction, pulsing with ominous energy.

"Bye, Mr. Quincy," she taunted, her voice dripping with satisfaction.

The cube exploded into a dark vortex right in front of me. 'Damn it!' I was moving too fast to stop, too fast to avoid it. I couldn't dodge. In an instant, I was swallowed by the black hole, the world around me warping and twisting. I glanced back, desperate, but saw the entrance to this strange space quickly sealing shut behind me.

'No, no, no!' I surged toward the light, straining every muscle, trying to reach the exit, but the passage to the outside disappeared before my eyes. I was trapped.

I tried to use my reishi absorption, desperately reaching for any source of power, but it was futile. Nothing responded. 'I'm trapped,' I realized, helpless and powerless in this void.

Time became meaningless. I stood in the darkness, my mind racing as I tried every possible technique, every Quincy weapon at my disposal, but none were strong enough to free me. Every attempt to escape failed miserably. No matter what I did, I remained imprisoned in this endless void.

I don't know how long passed. Days? Weeks? It all blurred together. But then, suddenly, something changed—a violent explosion ripped through the silence, and I was engulfed in searing heat. It was suffocating, overwhelming, and for a brief moment, I thought I was being incinerated.

But then, there it was—the light. Not the Silbern, not His Majesty, nor the Grandmaster, but something else entirely. A forest. Peaceful animals moved about, oblivious to my arrival. The air was fresh, serene, utterly unlike the chaos I'd known.

I tried to speak, to make sense of it all. "Arrgh—" I choked out, but it had been so long since I'd used my voice that the words wouldn't come. I stood there, disoriented, struggling to understand how I had gone from a dark void to this tranquil place.

I sensed it immediately—no Quincy, no Shinigami anywhere in the vicinity. In fact, the reishi here felt off, almost alien. *Where am I?* I turned around, scanning the unfamiliar landscape. My eyes darted from one strange sight to another, taking in the details.

I had never seen anything like this before. A forest—its towering trees and thick foliage were unlike anything I had ever encountered. The creatures that moved through it were equally strange, completely foreign to me, unlike any animals I had known or heard of.

'This place... it's like another world,' I thought, feeling more out of place with every passing second. Everything felt wrong, disconnected from the life I knew.

'I must return to His Majesty's side.' The thought echoed in my mind as I began to walk, my steps cautious yet deliberate. I glanced around, curiosity tugging at me despite my resolve. It was the first time in my life that I had ever been in a forest. The sights, the sounds—it was all so foreign.

Well well well, tis the end of the prologue Guys and gals, I've decided to rewrite for some of you or post to another site the rewrite for some, this was my first ever story that I wrote, everything will change compared to the last version.
