I silently thought to myself as I stared at the women wondering how to call myself.
Should I call myself a new name to signify the fact that I was in a new world?
Should I give myself a stupid codename for the fun of it?
Or should I just give myself my own name I had when I was on earth?
Decisions, decisions.
"Well I am..."
Pausing and thinking to myself I smiled and put out my hand.
"Slade, Slade Bridge"
Thinking for a bit more I added "Middle name Dara"
Smiling at the back of my mind I silently honored the brave king who did what was most probably right.
Rina who was on the floor looked at me strangely for a moment as if something had just been activated at the back of her mind.
Before shrugging it off and taking my outstretched hand.
Shaking it firmly Rina sighed before looking past me and eyes blinked once.
Before they bulges out of their sockets. "Why is there a house so deep underground!?"
Voice echoing across the wide cavern filled with corpses the other two women looked at the house.
Wide eyed and slack mouthed.
Smirking at the although rather exaggerated response, it was a welcome one that noticed my work, so I did what any other sane person would do I smiled and replied.
"Well that house was made by me alone and I live in it actually"
Which according to what Rina and the other two girls said however.
Was nowhere near what a sane person would do.
Grabbing my vest and bringing me closer to Rina she shouted.
And I must say, it was a strange sight to see beastial features on an otherwise normal human.
"Slade was it!?"
Ow, my ears.
Ignoring my rather visible pain from my ears Rina continued.
"In what world do you expect me to believe that you live here and made this house by yourself?!"
Waving her hands at both Kristina and Amanda she shouted.
Looking at her friends, who she should've known by now would've been unreliable.
They responded with a rebuttal.
"But isn't it possible? I mean it might take a while, but it definitely is possible"
Pausing at the obvious oversight Kristina added to the rebuttal.
"And why can't he live here? Wood cutters usually make their cabins in the forests"
Seizing that as a way to counter argue, she forgot one startling stark detail.
"Ha! But he isn't in a forest! And in fact he is underground!"
"But there is a forest made of glowing wood?"
Blinking at that incredibly stark in the face fact Rina slumped. "Aren't you guys supposed to be my teammates? Why are you attacking me?"
"But it is strange that there is glowing wood isn't it?"
Rina sighed "Yeah yeah, you guys are real funny, the only species of glowing wood I know of called..."
Blinking Rina looked upwards at Kristina pointing at the purplish glowing trees in the distance.
"... Kinter..."
Coming out of the house after having fixed a hole in it caused by a creeper explosion I spoke.
"I don't know much about anything else but... I definitely know my trees, these are in fact Kinter trees"
"How do you know that?.. No, actually besides that, wasn't there a hole in that wall a while ago?"
'The system that tells me it's names when I look at them' I thought without answering
I honestly don't know how things are like in this world, better to not tell things lest I find out what my powers are some sort of taboo here.
I can reveal it later when I know some more.
"I fixed it myself"
"I know that but how?" She asked before widening her eyes and raising her voice "Are you actually good with magic as well!?"
Thinking to the things the Terrarian could do with magic I nodded.
"I think so?"
Although I sounded as unsure as hell I'm sure that this world at least had something akin to spatial magic, otherwise how in the hell do the NPC's sell things?
Well maybe there's some sort of realism check that's now in play that in fact made the NPC's sell things physically, but it shouldn't be to far off from the truth.
"I mean, I can do this."
Opening the inventory that never seemed to catch their eye telling me that this is basically invisible to them, I grabbed a few blocks and threw them to the ground.
Manifesting large 1 cubic meter sized block, I turned to look at their expressions.
And much to my expectations, they only brightly looked in surprise without asking many questions.
"So your the one who made that long hole then?"
Well maybe one question.
"Yeah"
"Oh cool!" clapping her hands excitedly Kristina asked me a question.
"So how long have you been down here making those holes?"
Pausing at that question I realized one extremely startling fact.
I had absolutely no idea how long I've been underground.
So I answered as best as possible.
Which honestly made me aware of one fact that the others most definitely realized by now.
"Well... 25 sleeps?.."
Pausing at that rather ridiculous system which didn't follow conventional means such as the 24 hour a day count.
Rina realized one startling fact as the mostly normal one here amongst the rather not normal people.
But then again, one could argue that she was the irregular one here being the normal one among the irregulars.
With the halls being incredibly long, of course they would take a long time to make.
And accounting for the fact that people usually slept once a day, because there was literally no sun to count the number of days.
That meant that Slade here had been here for at least 25 days.
Grimacing at how lonely Rina moved to Slade's side and awkwardly patted his back.
"It's ok now"
Causing him to back away slightly and look at Rina in confusion.
Alongside her comrades in arms who should've been on her side at all times of course.
"Rina? Are you okay?"
"AGH, I WAS JUST TRYING TO BE NICE!" Bursting into an embarrased flush Rina kicked my leg for aboslutely no reason at all.
And letting it hit me Rina quickly pulled it back and cursed holding it to her chest.
"GAH! What is your leg made out of? Steel?"
Ignoring her words I gestured at my home and spoke.
"That's besides the point, and I don't think any of us want to stand any longer than possible"
Pointing at Amanda sitting on the ground Rina face palmed.
"Seriously?"
"Yes"
Dragging her hands across her face Rina spoke through gritted teeth "Sorry, my friend is a bit eccentric"
"It's fine, but do you guys want to enter my house?"
And just before Rina could reply Kristina jumped in "Gladly!"
Pushing Kristina away Rina sighed "Although she was a bit rude, we will gladly accept your offer"
