Whats going on

Drake stared at the new healer with his eyes wide open.

The healer tilted his head and asked, "Is there any problem? Are you feeling discomfort anywhere?"

He shook his head and said nothing to the healer.

[Drake, for the past two years, that healer was a fraud. Ahh]

<Not two years, but five years.> Drake clenched his fist in frustration, but then, with a deep breath, he calmed down. 'It's not time yet.'

The assistant said at this time, "Young sir, we don't have any time to waste. Come with me, please." With that, the old man and the healer both went out of the room.

He looked at the iron gate and took a step toward it. Memories started flashing through his mind. His childhood, his pain, screams, sobbing, begging—everything continued to flash before his eyes as he reached the entrance of the room.

He grabbed the iron bars and turned one last time, saying in a longing tone, "Goodbye, my friend." With that, he moved out of the room, following the old man, who was now leading the way.

Outside the room, a long corridor greeted him, with multiple light lamps hanging from the ceiling, brightening the empty corridor. A stark contrast to the darkness of his cell. They continued down the corridor until they reached a junction. Here, the healer turned right while they proceeded to the left corridor.

After walking for a few more minutes, they came across the second corridor. Just as he turned, he found 2 girls standing in maid's clothes next to a door.

The old man stopped there and looked back at him. "Sir, they will help you get ready for the session."

Drake nodded his head, realizing he was in desperate need of a bath. The old man instructed the maids, "Finish your work within half an hour."

Both maids nodded and dragged him inside the room. It was a very plain room with a bunch of tables and chairs. There was a big mirror on the wall in front of him.

He was about to move toward the mirror when one of the maids said, "Sir, we need to wash you up. Please come to the bathroom."

He looked at the open door on the left side leading to the bathroom. One maid rushed in there while the other one started removing the rags from his body.

It was strange, but he sensed how these maids were frowning from time to time while looking at him. Maybe it was because of the smell coming from him. Not caring much, he followed the maid's lead and let them do their work while he just looked here and there.

Once the maid removed the rags from him, he went inside the bathroom, and for the next half an hour, both maids rubbed the filth and dried up blood off his body.

Finally done with the bath, they moved toward a table. There he found a white shirt and blue pants waiting for him.

One maid said to him, "Sir, the first lady especially selected these clothes for you."

He nodded and stood still while the maid helped him dress. It was a quick process, and then he moved in front of the mirror. He was curious to know how much he had changed.

[Hey move fast, I want to see how you look?] Kane urged him.

He took a deep breath and stepped in front of the mirror.

[What!]

He looked at himself in the mirror in confusion. This was not the response he was expecting from Kane. There was not much change to his appearance.

He had his mother's black hair, a slightly neat face, and shining green eyes. These were the eyes of Duisberg. Everyone born in the family had these gem-like eyes. There was no deformity on his face, but his skin tone was dead white and even the green glow of his eyes was a bit dull compared to 3 years ago.

He was lean, with a few developed muscles here and there on his body, but mostly bone. He found the simple face pleasing.

<Hey Kane, what happened? Is there any problem?>

Kane's thoughts were in chaos at this moment. He recognized Drake's face, it same as the character described in that novel. That guy's family name was also Duisberg.

'What going on here? Am I in that novel for the past two years? Nah, it's just a coincidence.' Before transmitting to this world, his carving to read led him to read novels. He still remembered how he used to read multiple novels at a time and even on that day when his mobile phone blew in his hand, he was reading a novel that he started a few days prior.

His last novel, ' Rise of the legendary hero.' A trash harem novel that he started while waiting for something new to come out. Now he realized why he found Duisberg's surname so familiar.

Duisberg family was one of the top families present in the novel, but that was where the similarities ended.

In the novel, Drake Duisberg is a foolish, third-rate villain who loves women and even tries to force his maid but gets caught and punished. A far cry from the Drake he knew. That Drake back story differed completely from this Drake.

'No, it's not the same story, just a coincidence of a similar name.' Kane decided not to jump to conclusions and to observe the situation further.

After getting no response from Kane, Drake turned his attention to the old assistant waiting by the door.

The maids did the last bits of touching, and then both of them backed away. "Sir, you are good to go now."

He looked in the mirror for the last time. He was finally free, but he knew from this point they would come for his life. For his survival, he needed power, and this academy was the only way for him to get this power.

With determination in his eyes, he turned back to the old man and asked, "What do I need to do now?"

The old man turned around and opened the door. "Sir, follow me. I will give you the details along the way."

He nodded and both of them walked out of the room.
