Yuan Yuan's plan had failed that fateful day. She hadn't even spoken to Stacy, and she was visibly upset with Jin. She found herself getting increasingly frustrated with Jin, who seemed to be at the center of all the recent chaos. Hayley and Jayden, on the other hand, had decided to finally leave and head to the states.
They had decided to return to the United States since Ben thier mentor over there, had called them for a job interview. Meanwhile, Aaron chose to stay in the area and apply for a job at the same hospital where Stacy worked.
Stacy didn't see anything wrong with Aaron's decision, but Hayley understood the reason behind him staying but she knew he might not have a chance at her.
It was already 10am in the morning, and Stacy was scheduled for a night shift at the hospital. She decided to drive Hayley and Jayden to the airport before heading to work. When they arrived, the realization of being separated hit them hard.
Stacy felt a lump in her throat, her eyes welling up with tears. She hugged both Hayley and Jayden tightly, not knowing when she would see them again.
"I don't know when I will see you guys again," Stacy said, wiping away her tears.
"Cheer up, bunny. We can always communicate, okay?" Jayden reassured her while wiping away her tears. "What are phones for?" he teased her as she began to laugh. He walked up to Aaron "Take care of her bro, don't let her get bullied" he said before patting him on the shoulder.
Aaron walked up to Hayley and hugged her "Take care of him, he is really childish at times", he said a frown appeared on Jayden's face, while Stacy burst into laughter.
Hayley hugged Stacy once more and whispered something in her ear, a secret meant for Stacy's ears alone, a small frown appeared on Stacy's face. With heavy hearts, they finally parted ways.
Meanwhile, Aaron had been staying at a hotel, and Stacy knew it wasn't right. She decided to help him find a more permanent place to live.
After several house-hunting attempts, they finally found the right one a house only a few meters away from Stacy's own residence.
What Hayley had told her at the Airport had been bothering her, she wondered what would lead Hayley to say such a thing about yuan yuan, but she knew Hayley wasn't one to talk against someone. She decided she was going to find out by herself.
As evening approached, Stacy began preparing to leave for her night shift at the hospital. However, her plans were abruptly interrupted when her father called and informed her that they were going to the Lu family's house for an urgent discussion.
Puzzled, Stacy questioned her father about the sudden change of plans, but he simply told her that she would understand when they arrived.
In a matter of minutes, they were all in the car, heading to the grand mansion of the Lu family. Mrs. Lu was already outside, ready to welcome them.
Stacy had always been well-liked by Mrs. Lu, who saw her as an intelligent and smart young woman, even from a young age.
They exchanged pleasantries, and Mrs. Lu walked up to Stacy, taking her hand in hers and leading her into the house.
Inside, they all settled down, and Stacy greeted Mr. Lu, who was equally fond of her. Jin took a moment to greet Mr. and Mrs.
Feng, and then they all sat down for dinner. As soon as they began to eat, Mr. Lu turned his attention to Stacy.
"My dear, what are you doing now?" he asked kindly.
Stacy smiled, feeling a sense of pride. "I am now working at Babael Hospital as a cardiologist."
A smile appeared on Mr. Lu's face. "I am really proud of you. My daughter-in-law is really intelligent, unlike my son," he teased, glancing at Jin, who tried to force a smile.
Mrs. Feng came to her son's defense with a smile. "Don't tease him. He is a very promising young man." A smile creeped into her face.
Then, unexpectedly, Mr. Lu dropped a bombshell. "Tomorrow, your engagement party will be held at my hotel."
"What" Jin jumped to his feet in shock, a bewildered expression on his face. The entire family sat there in a state of confusion, they had not expected Jin to react this way.
