Traps

After recognising the true danger of the dungeon Jake and Erina started to pay a lot of attention to their surroundings however walking around while avoiding all sorts of traps was just too slow.

They had to keep complete focus on their surrounding while moving step by step which gave them a lot of mental fatigue, Just by the way they were already tired showed that this wasn't the right way.

They needed something fast to travel with so that they could run directly through the traps without being hit.

Jake stopped in his tracks and decided to think about the situation and find a better solution.

"Why don't you use your fire element to run through the traps quickly and activate them master, With your speed i doubt you will get hit" Erina put forth her suggestion trying to help Jake.

"That would be a good solution however if I use my fire element now everyone will know about it and there will definitely be many factions trying to recruit me" he swiftly replied which made her slighty confused.

"Then can't you just reject them?" She asked still with a very confused face.

"Listen factions may look friendly but in truth they are very cruel, They would rather kill a talented youngling than to have him join another faction!" He replied with a serious face which made her shiver in her place.

Because Erina had awakened the Earth element she was treated like a princess and she was protected from the schemes and evils of the world, However Jake had met lots of types of people in which there were a lot of twisted sadistic people too.

He knew that even if he declined the offer in the most polite way and also made sure to stay out of their way, They would still come and kill him just to get rid of a potential threat.

"Well I can use my [Golem creation] to create something fast but it will only be temporary since my mana control is too weak as of now." Suggested Erina with a hesitant face since she was still not confident in that spell.

"That's right! How could I forget! In order to create a long lasting and strong golem we both will have to caste the spell together!" He replied with a smirk on his face.

While going through the memories of Erina he had encountered the spell [Golem Creation] However he didn't have enough time nor mana to perform that spell but now he had both of them.

"Okay let's do it!" Erina also became excited, She was happy since till now all the work was being done by Jake but now she was also contributing.

They both stood up and raised their right hand forward, Closing their eyes they started to focus.

The mana stored in their body started to slowly drift towards their palms and a small green complex magic circle started to form.

More and more mana started to move towards the circle and right when their mana capacity was reduced to half they both opened their eyes and the small circuits became large.

The two large circuits joined together and all of the bricks in front of them started to deform and gather together, It started to take shape.

First the legs were formed

Then the torso 

And lastly the head.

The massive body of a tiger appeared in front of them with eyes that held the essence of ferocity and it's body held strength that was unrivaled.

Even by standing on its four limbs his head still reached the height of Jake and it had a somewhat bulky build.

However the giant tiger bowed down towards his creators with worship in his eyes, Even though it was just a golem it still had some basic emotions because of the mana that kept it together.

Both Jake and Erina sat on the tiger and they started to quickly traverse the dungeon with speed that was way faster than before.

They set off many traps however before the traps were even released they had already crossed the area and were already far away.

In this time Jake didn't forget to pay attention to the goblins, Using his scanner and his auto aiming bow he continued to one shot a lot of goblins while moving past them.

The goblins were only able to hear the sounds of the arrows cutting through the air before meeting their demise.

In mere moments The group travelled almost halfway through the hallway where they had to take a break as the previously singular path had now devided into 3 paths.

The group took a break here to prepare themselves, The boss room was quite close to their current location. They both drank a low grade mana recovery potion and took a rest to prepare themselves mentally.

However their rest was interrupted as suddenly the screams of a man was heard throughout the area.

"HELP ME! PLEASE! MY PARTY MEMBERS ARE ALL INJURED" 

The group immediately turned their head towards the direction of the sound and a person wearing thick Armor appeared in their sight, He was covered in blood and his face was covered by his helmet.

Erina looked towards Jake waiting for his orders.

"Lead the way" was the only reply that Jake gave to the unknown man as he immediately started to dash into the path that he had previously came from.

The two climbed onto their tiger and started to follow the man however they made sure to keep their distance, Even though Jake was currently willing to help he was still suspicious of the man.

As he followed the man the situation became clear to him, But he still quietly followed behind him.

'kekeke These humans are too easy to trick!' Thought the man or rather the goblin shaman that was currently using transformation magic to pretend to be a human.

This was the trap that most of the hunters would have lost their lives to, However it was useless against Jake who could see into the dark hallway without any issues.

As the man kept running even Erina started to realise that this was not normal, since any normal human who had just fought a deadly battle wouldn't be able to run at such a pace without stopping.

Just as the man was running he suddenly stepped on a tile that activated a trap and immediately hundreds of arrows were shot down, But the man didn't stop running as he used all of his strength to jump out of the range of the arrows barely evading death.

He had also removed all of his Armor since it was way too heavy and would have made it impossible for him to escape, revealing his goblin body.

But just as he turned around with excitement the only thing that he could see was a sea of arrows on the floor and a group of 3 standing at the other side of the arrows.

His brain couldn't even comprehend what had happened as he stood their confused at the sight, But unfortunately for him the trap that he had chose to activate was a 2 stage trap.

Jake and Erina felt the earth mana at the top of certain arrows and knew what was about to happen, That's why they chose to stay at their place and didn't attack the shaman immediately.

"YOU HUMANS WHY DID YOU NOT FOLLOW ME!" The angry shaman yelled, he had just risked his life and even with that his trap had failed. His frustration reached peak as he started walk towards the group through the arrows.

However the earth mana on the arrows started to spread and connect with each other as the goblin reached the centre of the arrows a green light shone and a magic circle was formed.

[Quick sand]

The entire area within the circle turned into quick sand as the goblin was caught in it, He tried to grip the ground with his hands but that only made his hands stuck as well.

"NO! I CANT DIE LIKE THIS! I REFU-" before he could continue the ceiling that had also turned into quick sand fell on his head burrying and suffocating him.

Jake and Erina looked at the terrifying trap and sighed a breath of relief, Even they would be hurt a lot if they were stuck in such a trap.

'Save the magic circuit and implement the arrow based magic circuit in the aiming system' Jake ordered the AI in his scanner, Even by just looking at a complex trap his fighting style had gained a new weapon.
