"Justice League this is Martian Manhunter. You all have to present yourselves at the Watchtower immediately. I repeat this is an emergency." J'onn Victor was on monitor duty when the brother eye, the most advanced surveillance tech started to go bonkers.
"Manhunter this is Batman, I am on a chase after Two Face and Poison Ivy who are working in tandem. Tell me what is happening" Batman chimed in through his comms.
"I'll be there in a minute J'onn " spoke Supeman.
"And Iiiiiiiiii——m here" Barry was in front of them before he even completed his sentence. His speed was something that never ceased to amaze the leaguers. "Where's Hal, John, Jessica? Where are any of the lanterns" he asked.
Superman arrived a minute later.
"Hah! I won" Barry punched the air & Superman just gave him the you're-lame side eye.
"That's one of the things we need to discuss. The brother eye has picked up strange disturbances not only all around earth but also across the areas of space it can surveillance. My hunch is that the Guardians have found the same and have held them back. Magical energy signatures are clouding even our planet. The readings are ominous at best." Cyborg explains to the league present there while pulling up the screens on the main computer for everyone to see.
"People in Keystone city are reporting strange sights all of a sudden. Even I have seen strange silhouettes just walk past me several times. Kinda like freaky ghosts, but not troublesome" Black Canary added.
"My city has umm how do I put this. Minotaurs? Just yesterday I had to fight a literal Cyclops. He was so disoriented, he kept screaming about how he'll not let The Dark Order hurt his family again. None of it makes any sense." Doctor Light added, sitting down on a seat and rubbing her forehead.
"Kara and I also have been fighting and seeing unusual shadows. Most of them don't even bother anyone and keep moving uhh kind of endlessly. There was a guy though, his ears were like those fictional elfs. He was caught selling a scroll to someone by a shadow who beat me to it and tied him to a pole. It was so strange." Superman added, he was effectively and perpetually confused at the things he was seeing. He purposely did not add the part that sometimes he also felt his powers get a bit wonky here and there.
Suddenly a golden light enveloped the room and there stood Doctor Fate. "The scroll where is it?" He asked Superman.
"Where you eavesdropping?" Barry asks incredulous.
"Yes. Now where is that scroll Kryptonian? Do you even realize what that was?" Doctor Fate pressed harder. The impatience in his voice putting everyone off.
"I-I don't know. Shadows beat me to it. Why are you such a hurry fate, what's going on? What was in that scroll? We can help" Superman tried to reason.
"You all will have to help but now is not the time. I must find the scroll before it's too late. That was the curse of the Skyfallen, anyone who recites the complete curse written on the scroll can split the skies open and summon every wind god from every single pantheon and command them to his will. The artifacts are coming back, we have lesser time than I imagined." Doctor Fate immediately vanished from there after debriefing everyone on the situation.
"Controlling every wind god with a curse? Like a magical curse? He's gotta be kidding, right?" Green Arrow asked, looking around the room.
"He doesn't do that Ollie. You know it" Barry spoke, grim for once. "I hate magic, it gives me the heebie-jeebies"
"The curses, the shadows, the creatures, the artifacts are coming back" Superman murmured as he tried to fit the pieces together. Then it suddenly clicked with him, Billy's words. His eyes widened as he realized what was happening. "Magic is returning." He spoke out loud, garnering the attention of everyone.
In the blink of an eye, The Man of Steel left the watchtower. Leaving behind a visibly confused Justice League.
"What" said Barry.
"The" said Ollie.
"Fucking" said Kimiyo
"Fuck" concluded Dinah.

Batman raced the streets of Gotham, the Batmobile going fast as a bullet. Poison ivy amd Two Face had formed an unlikely alliance which could only mean that there was something big going on behind the shadows. Guns were shot at the Batmobile only to be swatted away by a red blur.
"Shit it's Superman!" Screamed a lackey as the tried to drive faster only for all their vehicles to be crushed and the goons to be tied up to a pole in mere seconds.
A purple portal appeared right below the villains who were m
"Dammit Clark! I needed to know their hideout" screamed The Dark Knight. "What do you want?"
"The runes, the magical disturbances, the sudden rush towards magical artefacts by everyone isn't a fluke Bruce. Remember the awakening that Billy has knowingly keeps mumbling about?" Superman flew next to the Batmobile as they raced uphill on the woods and into the infamous Batcave.
"He doesn't shut up about it." Batman retorted, snarkier than usual.
"Your attitude is not really helping here Bruce" Superman spoke, affirmatively as he blurred right in front of The Bat and blocked his path.
"Move! Stop being a child! You are going to tell it to me regardless" Bruce pulled down his mask.
"He says it's about lost worlds returning, magic had apparently been sleeping because Billy's wizard but now that he is dead the spells are weakening." Superman tried his very best to explain from the extremely difficult to understand rant Billy ha once given him and Diana after a gnarly mission.
"Those lost worlds awakening means that they were put in some sort of mystical suspended animation and now with the seals weakening they are coming out of it. That would explain the sudden shadow occurrences and the cases of random burnt skeletons across the globe." Batman reasoned as he pulled up the footages and news reports of said crimes on his BatComputer.
"Those people, they did the know they were erased were they?" Superman keenly asked as he moved towards the big screen with his arms crossed.
"No. To them time has not passed. They still think it is their time and their legislation. This is bad. Where is Billy? I need to talk to him." Batman spoke as he wore his cowl again and sat in the Batjet. Flying away without saying a word and leaving behind a very serious looking Superman still glued to the screens of the BatComputers.
