It was a creature, half-deer and half-bird, with a human-like face, deer antlers on its head, a deer body covered in white bird feathers, bird-like wings, and long stork-like legs below.

Several of these creatures, around five, stood expressionless in the water.

Leslie tugged at Ilodyer's sleeve, and pointing at her mouth to indicate she wanted to speak.

Ilodyer quickly covered Leslie's mouth and gestured towards the creatures.

Leslie stared for a while but couldn't discern anything. So, she looking back at Ilodyer with a puzzled expression.

Ilodyer then pointed down towards the creatures.

After a while, Leslie noticed that these creatures' reflections in the water surface were actually humans, Although they were very blurry. Because of the lake's calm surface, their human-like forms were faintly visible.
