Ointments and Suppressants (2)

Mikael looked at Halter, his expression softening with concern as he observed the young boy. "You should rest, Halter," he urged. "Leave the work aside for a bit."

Halter, however, was not willing to give up on his duty. He offered a protest, "But the horses… I have to feed them, groom them, and make sure they are healthy and happy."

Mikael spoke firmly, "I will look for a different person who can take care of them. You are not a good fit for the stable work, Halter. It's too dangerous for a child like you. Imagine if the horses suddenly turned aggressive and attacked you–"

Halter heard Mikael's words, but he misinterpreted them. He cut him off, saying, "The horses never behaved that way, my lady. I appreciate your kindness in rescuing me from my cousin, but please don't dismiss me."

Mikael shook his head, trying to calm him down. He explained, "I'm not dismissing you, Halter. I just want to assign you to a different job, something safer."
