chapter 27

She skillfully parked the car in his garage. They stopped by the hospital much to his dismay and got him examined. Doctor suspected that it was because of lack of sleep and rest because other than that all his test results were normal. He just sat there glaring at the poor soul who was trembling because of his undivided attention.

"You go get changed and I'll make you something to eat before you take your meds."

"Just order something"

She looked at him strictly and he raised his hands in surrender.

"Fine fine Jeez never thought this mother hen side existed in you."

"Mmmhmmm off you go"

He went up and she in the kitchen dialling her mother's number on the way.

"Hello?" came her usual sweet voice.

"Hi mama I wanted to tell you that I won't be coming home tonight. I'm staying at a friend's."

"Oh alright. Is it the same friend as last time?"

" Yes"

"Ok love. Take care"

" Bye mama"

She hung up and started putting the ingredients together. Atleast he had enough grocery for two days.

By the time chicken soup was being prepared she added bite sized banana, strawberries and blueberries in greek yogurt and took them to his room.

"Zai there's a bowl of yogurt on the bedside table please eat after showering."

"Alright thank you baby" he replied from inside.

She happily got back to her work.

While cutting the vegetables her phone started ringing and when she looked at it, she was utterly confused to find an unknown number.

Hesitantly she accepted the call. Receiving unknown calls is the single most uncomfortable thing for her.

"H-hello?"

There was no response. She pulled back the phone and checked if the person hung up or something but it was all okay.

"Is someone there?" she bit her lip hard.

" Yeah" came a breathy reply.

What scared her was the fact that it was a man, well it sounded like a big bad man from the movies.

"W-who is t-this?" she said already walking towards the room Xavier was in.

"You gave me your number"

"I didn't. Wrong number." and she hung up immediately adding it in her block list.

The first number to make it there.

He sounded like he was restraining himself but from what? And he said she gave him her personal number?

She found herself standing outside the room and decided to turn back and not disturb him.

After an hour she assembled everything on the tray and took it upstairs.

She knocked on his bedroom door but got no response so she went ahead to his office and knocked again and he replied a 'come in'.

"I would if I could"

He opened the door and took the tray from her hands leading them inside.

They settled on the sofa and started eating.

"Eat the salad too" she said putting generous amount of green salad on his plate.

"I'm not a cow. I don't eat grass."

"You think I am a cow?" she asked putting down her spoon.

"What?" he choked on his soup and she burst out laughing.

"I'm sorry I was kidding. Here." she gave him a glass of water which he thankfully gulped.

"Green veggies are good for you so eat plenty of them alright?"

"And what do I get in return"

"Good health" he looked at her flatly.

"Ummm anything you want then?"

"Hmm tempting. Alright. I will use it later, you better don't forget about it."

" I won't"

" By the way the soup is fucking amazing what'd you put in there to make this bland shit worth a second round."

And she went on and on about how she modified this recipe for herself and how everyone in her family loves it.

After a hearty meal, it was the time for his medicine.

"Say aaaaaaa" she said forwarding the meds to him.

He looked at her then the medicines but didn't move.

"Come onn you have to." Ailee said putting her hands on her waist resembling a mother correcting her toddler.

"I will be fine. I always have." he said still being stubborn.

But who was he kidding?

"Yeah alright my tiger but inorder to get healthy faster, you need to."

He looked at her flatly.

"Urghh ok. I'm going home since you're so fine to be on your own. Goodluck." she said sweetly and handed him the tablets, almost turning to leave when he held her hand.

" You're so dramatic" he said and gulped it down without water.

Her eyes widened.

" Bro atleast drink some water. Let's not get aggressive, shall we?"

His eyes darkened at the term she used for him, doesn't matter if it was a joke or not.

In one quick pull she was on him, partially straddling him.

"What did you say?"

"I?" She pointed at herself innocently and gulped.

"Mhmm you" he replied adjusting her hair to one side.

"I asked you to-"

"What you called me just now" he interjected and started planting butterfly kisses on her neck and shoulder blades.

She gasped and held his shoulders tightly just for the sake of her sane-ness, wrinkling his shirt in the wake of her actions.

"Say it" he said in between his sweet torture.

The dominance in his voice made her give in instantly.

"I w-was kidding when I called you-you B-bro-"

He bit her just below the shoulder the moment those words slipped out of her mouth and she took in a sharp breath, throwing her head back.

He soothed the place with his lips and repeated the process a couple more times. His hold on her waist tightened with the sound that left her mouth and her small hands tangled with his locks making it harder for him to control himself.

"You don't do this with your fucking brother Coco."

She nodded rapidly and slowly opened her eyes when she could feel his mouth on her no more.

"Understand?" he asked caressing her cheeks which were painted crimson.

She nodded again.

"Words, baby, words."

"I understand"

He smirked and licked his lips looking at the art he just made all over her upper chest and ran his fingers along the skin that was slowly turning purple.

She buried her face in his neck and closed her eyes, replaying the incident that just took place.

"Can I atleast do my work ?" he broke the silence after few minutes.

"NO! Absolutely not. Let's take a walk instead?"

He sighed but agreed nevertheless. It's the least he could do in return for the delicious dessert she let him have.

"Ok let me wrap up the things here and I'll join you in a bit, alright?"

" A-okay" she said showing him thumbs up. He pecked her forehead and got up.

She came out in the garden and started walking, quietly humming to a song that was stuck in her head.

He was on his way down when he heard her scream in pain and he ran with his heart thumping loudly in fear of her getting hurt.
