Chapter 27. Law of Loyality

Ace sat in his room, holding and inspecting the lightning lightning no mi fruit.

"Who should I give it to?" Ace whispered.

Truthfully, he didn't gain his devil fruit abilities by eating a devil fruit, he got it from the system that he accidentally broke. And he didn't have the weakness that devilfruits had, so he could swallow this fruit...

He originally had no intention of ever eating another fruit, but seing the abilities of Enel made him ponder. If he ate it, he would reach new levels of power. Probably the strongest of all time. His speed, heat, attack, defense, all of it would be at the zenith level.

But he didn't want to lose his ability to swim... And he was already, well, probably the strongest of the seas, he hadn't had any real fights so he couldn't know for sure but he was certain he was up there somewhere, and with a bit of experience he would become the strongest of all time... He suspected.

"But then... Who should I feed it to?" Ace wondered.

He would love to give it to Urouge, but that man already has a devil fruit.

Bonney and Apoo as well.

But that leaves Gaga, Spikewards, Yennow and Nami. But would that fruit be wasted on them?

Should he keep it for now or should he give it to Gaga maybe? Nami? Those two have enough brain to actually make something of the fruit but if they don't become proficient in haki, it would be a waste. He wants a Emperor level powerhouse in his crew in the future.

"Hmm, what should I do with you?" He whispered as he held the fruit.

A few days later, when Ace woke up, he went out to deck and found Urouge drinking while watching Bepo, Yennow, Ronaldino Ronaldo, Spikewards, Apoo and Bonney playing cards.

Nami was taking care of her oranges, tangerines? Clementines? Orange fruits!

Law was sitting at the bow. He still seemed conflicted about this. At first he wanted to escape the first chance got, but looking back he saw. Bepo enjoying himself a lot.

Bepo was his close friend and Bepo always felt inferior and had a hard time getting friends because he's a polar bear mink.

And seing him so joyfully close to the Demon Ace Pirates, he felt unsure of what to do.

'Maybe it would be better if I left Bepo here... The Demon Ace pirates seem like good people, except for their bastard captain. Maybe that would be better for Bepo? After all... I'm going after HIM." Laws eyes became sharper as he thought about the man he had to kill.

"Oy, calm down so ya don't kill someone with your gaze." Ace chuckled.

Law came out of his thoughts and realised that Ace had somehow gotten beside him.

Law turned around and ignored him.

"..."

After a minute of ignoring eachother, Ace finally asked something that Law wasn't expecting.

"What's your ambition?"

"?" Law just looked slightly confused as he wasn't expecting Ace to start talking about that.

"Tsk, don'tya even understand a simple question? What's your goal? Are you dumb in the head, don't ya even get something so simple?" Ace suddenly felt that as a kind, elder brother figure, he had to speak like this to Law so that he would mature a bit. Yes, it was out of kindness that Ace spoke like this.

"BASTARD WATCH HOW I STAB YOU A THOUSAND TIMES!!!" Law lost it, and grabbed his sword. He had been on a bad temper the last few days, and this was the last drop.

"Tsk and I was about to help you take care of Domango." Ace said as he put a finger in his nose and tried to find a treasure.

Law halted suddenly in shock. He never told a soul about his secret goals and his hatred for Doflamingo.

"How did you know?" Law suddenly asked in a dark voice as his eyes got hidden by his hat.

"Isn't it obvious? You two are obviously related." Ace said as he poked his nose.

"..." Law gave him an angry stare, and Ace understood that he wanted to know or else there might be a real, serious fight between them.

"Isn't your name the same?" Ace asked while looking at him as if he was stupid.

"The same?" Law asked stupified, how are they the same?

"Dofla-mango? Trafa-mango? It's obvious, you both come from the same Mango family!" Ace said nonchalantly as he still tried to find the one piece inside his nose.

Law dropped his jaw. Could it be possible that Ace connected the dots by being completely stupid? Getting the right answer but doing the wrong math?

"Then how did you know that we're enemies?" Law finally found his trail of thought and asked.

"Obviously, if you were on the same side as Dfomanglo, you would be part of his crew!" Ace said, and he got excited at the end, because the tip of his finger finally caught the little booger hiding deep in his nose.

"Ah, so this is my father's greatest treasure!" Ace said in a chuckle as le looked at the little booger, before flickering it away.

Law stared at Ace, and realised that Ace didn't have any bad intentions at all, no, in fact, the reason he seemed like an evil bastard wasn't because of evilness, it was because of lack of brain cells.

Ace got surpised as he saw Law finally chuckling and smiling.

"Hu, bastard are you laughing at your captain, lemme warm ya that I'm strong!" Ace said angrily as he pointed at Law.

"Are you strong enough to fight one of the seven warlords, Doflamingo?" Law asked, this time making sure that Ace was serious about this.

"I already defeated one of them, why not another? But, the question is...." Ace said as he also got serious.

"Are you ready to fight not only a warlord, but the Emperors, Marines and world government?" Ace said as he grinned.

"!?" Law took a step back with surprise written all over his face.

He had believed that his dream of fighting Doflamingo was far fetched, but now he realised that he wasn't a mad man, he was dreaming small. Based on the words he just heard, the man in front of him was about to declare war on the whole world.

Seing tha surprise on Law's face, Ace could help but to laugh out.

"WAHAHAHAHA WON'T YOU TURN THE SEAS UPSIDE DOWN WITH ME?" Ace laughed while shouting.

This caught the attention of the other crew mates that looked over curiously. And they realised that Ace just asked for Law's genuine loyalty.

They looked over at Law and waited for his answer.

Law looked at the madman and felt his blood boil, but this time it was out of excitement.

He had never really thought of going against the whole world, but as someone that carried the will of D, it made him feel like if he missed this opportunity, he would come to regret it.

Gnashing his teeth, he finally nodded.

Seing this, the whole crew shouted in joy as they realised that Law had finally joined for real.

"We should party!" Yennow stood up and shouted."

"Erm, maybe later, we have trouble ahead!" Nami suddenly poured cold water on everyone.

"5 marine ships surrounding another ship." Nami explained.
