Fort Karsam - Part 4

"What are we, some kind of thieves with honour?" Vol said, frowning. The suggestion sounded too much like a children's story. This request was put to the same man who had been about to slaughter a party of villagers out of mere irritation a few days before.

"Why not, Lord Commander?" Vale said, tilting her head. "Does the Princess' suggestion not benefit everyone? You're quite willing to trade for it, after all, aren't you?"

"I suppose. It still seems a bit too goody for my liking," Vol said, scratching his chin.

"How do you have a harder time doing the right thing than being terribly cruel?" Penelope said. "People respect you, because of the honour you show at times, like in burning your foes – I know those new men respected it too. Why then does that honour not go as far as this?"
