The dungeon's visit

Luciana struggled to get out of the water, her lungs burning. She had been looking forward to her death, but she didn't think it would come in this manner. At least not in the hands of this person.

Just when she had given up, she felt the hand holding her release her at once, before she heard a thud. Then she felt someone pull her out of the water. She heard faint voices, like someone was scolding another person, but she couldn't make out the words. Her eyes became blurry, before her vision gave away.

Raziel was surprised at the scene he met. One of the castle's guards assigned to follow princess Evelyn was the one who told him what was going on, and he rushed over there. The guard had informed him that it was one of his girls, and he got there and saw that it was Luciana.

Raziel quickly pulled the princess away from her, sending her landing somewhere he didn't care to note. He pulled the human girl out of the water, not sure if she was dead or alive, but he was certain that she had swallowed a lot of water.

He wanted to help her, but he didn't know how to. The only thing he could think of was to get her to a witch. He carried her and zoomed off, getting to the witch cottage in less than a minute.

"Help her. We will talk about the payment after." He said to the witch, who looked to be in her middle ages. She gave him a cunning smile."

"You know what I want my prince."

"I do, and I agree." Raziel said before placing Luciana on the witch's bed.

"Let me guess, one of the slaves you bought." She said, and she examined Luciana's face. "Poor child."

She hovered one hand above Luciana, and water began to bubble out of her mouth. "Soon, Luciana sprang up and coughed out more water."

Raziel frowned watching her. This human, always in trouble.

"Next time you should just give her a mouth to mouth." The witch told Raziel, and he frowned. Would that help?

Luciana continued to cough, drawing his attention away from the witch to the human.

"Someone finally caught your attention your highness?" The witch said to him, and he frowned at her. "Relax child, you'd be okay." She then said, turning to Luciana.

When Luciana's cough subsided, she turned to Raziel who happened to still be standing there, with a permanent crease between his brows. From all indications, she knew that he was the one who saved her.

"Why did you save me your highness?" She asked, really curious.

"You are welcome Luciana." The prince answered in a sarcastic tone.

"I am sorry your highness. Thank you for saving me. But I still want to know why."

Raziel shook his head when her curious eyes stared at him. "You just got up from the dead, and you already want to turn me into one of your experiments."

Luciana kept quiet. She still wondered why he saved her. He was a vampire royal, a shouldn't be bothered by a peasant female dying. Anyway for some reason, the prince seemed obsessed with human females.

"How often do you buy slaves your highness?" Luciana suddenly asked, and Raziel wondered where that came from.

"There is no specific frequency. I am buying another set tomorrow." He said. "You should stop talking and rest."

Her voice sounded hoarse, and he guessed that her throat would hurt.

He stayed there with her, until it was time for them to go. He then took her home, but by a carriage this time. Luciana wondered where the carriage came from, but didn't ask.

The first place that Raziel went to the moment he got to the castle was Evelyn's quarters. The princess lay on the bed, while maids massaged her feet.

She heard someone enter, and she almost flared up, until she turned and saw him. She then lay down back, remembering how he pushed her to rescue the useless human he was having an affair with.

Even though she was angry at him, she also couldn't deny the fluttering feeling in her stomach, as he had never entered her room before.

"You all, leave. Evelyn we need to talk." His voice was cool, but filled with authority, and the servants scurried out immediately, without waiting for the princess' approval. She planned to deal with them later.

She then sat up. "Have you come to apologize?" She asked arrogantly.

"Come. I should show you around."

A huge smile broke on her lips. Finally, he was coming to his senses, and facing what was important. She still reasoned that he might be doing it out of guilt for what he did to her, but she would take it. It was a good start.

She stood up and went to stand in front of him, wanting to hug him.

"Save that for later." He sternly told her, and her smile fell for a moment, before she wore it again.

"Okay." She then took his hand, and her heart leapt when he took hers as well.

"You are finally paying attention to your future bride. You know our wedding is very close." She reminded him. He had totally forgotten about the wedding.

"Where are we going?"

"You will see." He answered as he led her away.

Evelyn was surprised when he led her to the dungeon.

"What are we doing here?"

"If you are going to marry me, you will have to learn every part of the castle." He told her calmly. Evelyn didn't like the idea, but she decided she was going to do it. Once he marries her, she wouldn't have to suffer like this anymore.

"Okay my prince. I will do it for you."

He then took her inside, showing her different cells, with people inside.

"You know, most of the people here are put in here by me." He informed her, and she turned to him with sparkles in her eyes. Everyday he gives her new reason to want to marry him. She had always wanted the person she would marry to be powerful and authoritative, for many to fear him.

"What did they do my prince?" She asked.

"They went against my orders." He told her, then he took her deeper inside. The place was dark, but their vampiric vision made them see clearly.

The more they went, the more uncomfortable Evelyn grew. The smell of blood reached her, and she felt like throwing up, but the prince didn't even notice. She hoped he would get softer towards her with time.

"Prince Raziel..." She called when she couldn't take it anymore.

He didn't answer. He just held her, and continued going in. The dungeon didn't seem to end. Soon, they got to a stairway that spiralled downwards, and Raziel took him, dragging her along. The stench on going down, made her lightheaded.

"Notorious criminals are kept here." Raziel told her.

Evelyn looked at the cages holding the criminals, and she scrunched her nose in disgust. They all looked so irritating, that sharing the Sam space with them made her want to lose her mind.

"My prince we should go back. Such dirt is not good for the likes of us." She couldn't help but protest.

"Just a little while princess."

Finally they arrived at the floor, which she guessed was built underground. They were fewer criminals there, but they seemed more violent, as they wouldn't stop shaking their cages.

Prince Raziel got to an open cage and entered it with Evelyn. She couldn't help hugging herself, as if it would protect her from the insects and rodents there. She really wanted to get out of there.

She looked around the place, not being able to put how disgusting it is into words. When she couldn't take it anymore, she turned to Raziel.

"Let's leave here my prince. This place..." She trailed off when she noticed he was not standing there anymore. Where did he go?

She then hear the door to the cell close, before she looked and saw Raziel standing outside.

"Oh, you are ready to leave now?" She asked in glee.

"I told you that the dungeon is for people who go against my orders."

"I know." She said, as she got to the door. She tried to pull it open, but it wouldn't budge. She then looked at Raziel in realization. No, he didn't!

"You disobeyed me by attempting to murder Luciana today."

"But she's only human. And you remembered her name." She spat.

"You are only a vampire princess. Maybe you shouldn't have experience life a little, without the shelter and protection you are used to." Raziel said, before zooming off, leaving the princess calling after him.
