These monsters, unlike the goblins or even wolves or lycanthropes. After a certain point they gained wisdom.

Knowhow, knowledge, whatever you wanted to call it. They gained something after a certain point.

It was up to debate how they gained it, whether it was from power, or if it was some higher being thing.

But it was known to the right people that with power came intelligence then came wisdom. And those capable of using it were tricky to trick.

Yet right now I needed to do just that, against a grade of monster I had not seen before.

It was a challenge, but one I was willing to take upon myself. As long as it was for survival. Otherwise I would have ran if I had the chance.

But I didn't and as such there was no need for me to even contemplate it.

The first thing I needed to do happened naturally.

As I was being chased through the hallways, it was inevitable that I would come across some sort of dead end. Whether that be just a wall or in this case a set of elevators.
