Adapting (10)
I activated my fusion skill and felt my clothes tearing apart as 2 foreign yet familiar parts grew out of my back. I felt my eyesight change as my eyes turned into slits. I felt some of my skin around my forehead and hand turn into scales. 2 horns unlike Alae's popes out of the corners of my fore head.
"Egil! Are you okay, what's happening to you?"
"Same thing that happened to you sweety." I said the last word without even knowing but Alae seemed to smile and blush a little at it, and so did I.
"Do you know how to fly on your own?" Alae asked being as curious as I was.
I jumped up and tried moving the new muscles in my back and flew a little to hard.
"AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" I ended up going 50 feet in the air with one flap.
Alae flew up to catch me. And slowly started descending
"I think the reason you went so high is because of the fact that you wings are nearly the same size as mine even though mine need to support my body."
"I agree" I looked into the lake in front of me and was sort of scared at myself as I looked like a demon. I put my hand onto my face trying to see if it was a real reflection.
"Egil don't judge yourself based on looks, you're a kind person no matter what." She gave a hug comforting me as I returned the favor.
"Now let's get to practice, I wanna try and master flight by the end of today."
"Consider it done, since you have such a good teacher." She beamed with joy and excitement
After that I started training how to take off and land not without slamming myself to the ground hear and there. Once 3 hours had passed I was landing most of the activity's, until I needed to learn how to fly Which was one of my biggest problems since I didn't have proper wing size. After a very long time I had mastered flying at 10% of my wings power. By the time we finished Alae was already asleep and the sun was just rising.
"Since I'll be carrying Alae in her human form I should bump up the power to 15 or 20%."
I thought to myself but just raised it to 30 just to make the trip faster. I carried her in my arms thinking that they might get tired but ended up not even being effected. And a trip that took Alae 3 hours only took us 45 minutes to arrive back to base. I fell fast asleep after this losing my dragon form as well.

1 YEAR LATER
Since the last year has passed I have mastered my dragon form and Alae the same with her human form even learning how to change her clothes with magic. In this time we came a lot closer being a official couple. Not to mention the hundreds of dragons that moved into the nest. With the 2nd in command being Narith who was the first one to move in besides me and Alae.
"Alae what did you make for breakfast?" I yawned at the end
"I made your favorite." She turned around wearing a white apron over a blue shirt and a matching blue skirt with her hair in a bun.
"Thanks sweetie, I'll check on the nest and come back before you know it."
"Check on the fledglings for me." She reminded me
I transformed and flew to the nest landing while still being in my dragon form.
"Hey Narith, what's todays check up like."
"Like usual sir, there have been an increase in mates so within the next year or 2 we will require an expansion."
"What about the fledglings?"
"The older bunch have left to go and find a mate while the younger side still causes trouble and pulls pranks."
"Wow, Narith your really fitting the role of a leader now."
"Thanks, but I'm still single somehow." He said the last part to himself but I still heard
"Who knows you might get a vacation soon, but that'll be in a month or so because me and Alae have to return to someplace."
"The human nest?"
"Yep, I wonder how berk has changed from the original."
