Ch 17-Interlude 1- Asuna Pendragon

A/N: had fun writing this chapter in like 2 hours lol i had to do some work today but managed to squeeze in a chapter today.

there will be more interludes going through Meliodase Daughter adventures between main story chapters here and there so look forward to them.

In the Bustling City of Liye in the headquarters of the Qixing, hundreds of workers ran around doing their work, marking orders, filing, budget plans, and such things.

But most noticeable of all was the girl with low brown hair, slim doby, and had a hydro vision earing on her ear.

the person is Asuna Pendragon a current employee of The Qixing. In the weeks that she has been in Liyue. she has managed to show her worth in the Qixing when she joined and in a matter of a week she managed to climb the ladder and become the manager of a whole branch. Although she felt the weight of how much work she had to do, she was happy as this was the one thing she was superior to any of her sisters.

Especially Violet who is the smartest of the 5 sisters. But her smarts still couldn't match Asuna's wits and sense for money. you could say that she was born to be a merchant.

when she first joined the Qixing she found out that it was quite an easy job. considering that the education Meliodas provided along with the books in their family library had topic and information to learn that was years beyond the Arithmetic and math the Qixing used.

When she first entered she thought for a second that the people here were Apes still using their fingers to count little amounts of numbers while she could do Equations nobody could in her mind with the knowledge her father Meliodas had provided her.

She also sometimes Wondered where her Father acquired these books in the first place but in all the years she was with him she learned not to question what he does. From strange powers to knowledge that seemed out of this world, his father was nothing but an enigma to her and a mystery.

(N/A: So close yet she doesn't even know it lol)

Going back to the present Right now she is doing her job As the head of the branch, although for her it was quite easy, the huge amount of paperwork and burden of being the manager would tire anybody out.

Asuna looked outside the window and noticed it was night already. She had been finishing up some late-night work in advance so she could leave early tomorrow and visit Mitsuri at Wanmin Restaurant. Although her sister was a genius at cooking like her father, she still lacked when it came to him so she joined and managed to become a worker and disciple of the restaurant owner like hr Ftaher asked.

"*Sigh* I miss Dad's cooking" she contemplated as she had been feeling homesick ever since she left but at least she had Mitsuri with her so she made sure to visit the restaurant whenever she could since she was the only person whose food taste was almost on par with her dad's.

*Knock*

*Knock*

*Knock*

Hearing the knock on the door Asuna replied "Come in" As she put on her poker workplace face, even at your own office it is a battlefield since there are people always wanting your position no matter what.

As the man entered he greeted her "Greeting Miss Pendragon, I have come conveying a message from Lady Ninguang" said the man respectfully

Asuna raised an eyebrow at his comment, ever since coming to Liyue she had tried finding out everything from cultural to economic matters.

As she was studying in the city library she found out who exactly the Ninguang person his father talked about was. She was the head of the Qixing the Mogul who could very much shake to financial situation of Liyue itself.

Wondering how he knew about her or more as he talked about her more intimately, she wondered how they were related. though she had never had the chance to talk to her she now did but she could show that she was looking forward to it so she ket her poker face.

The man said the message " Lady Ninguang has taken interest in your exceptional abilities as you had managed to become the head manager of this branch in a matter of a week, in such case she would like to meet such talent"

Hearing his words Asuna nodded as she accepted and followed him.

as they reached outside Asuna was led to a secret spot where they hid the flying elevator that led to the jade chamber. Reaching the spot the man went near a woman who was hiding in the corner, saying the password Both Asuna and the man were allowed to get on it.

finally reaching the jade chamber Asuna couldn't help but marvel at the prestige and luxury that the Jade Chamber showed as it was one of the most luxurious places she had ever been to.

As he followed the messenger they both entered and she could see that the inside was as luxurious as the outside just that It was designed more as a workplace as many of Ninguangs's close assistants worked there.

Finally reaching the other side of the Jade Chamber they were greeted by a beautifully carved door that was probably made of gold.

"Lady Ninguang she has arrived," the messenger said as he knocked on the door.

"Come in," said a sweet voice on the other side of the door.

Pov change- Asuna Pendragon

I'm nervous, like really, really nervous. Although I know that I'm smarter I don't think that I could match up with someone as experienced as Ninguang. Although I might not be the strongest or smartest of my sisters, I'm still confident in my strength. but in the face of a person like Ninguan, I don't know what to expect when coming in contact with her. but what I know is that once I enter that door it will become a battle of wits.

As the guards on the door opened it, I was greeted by a room filled with what could be called absolute luxury. Beautifully carved and crafted furniture, rows and rows of shelves probably containing important files and information. And finally, the legendary board contains some of the most important information Ninguang possesses or at least would be very important to others.

But at the center of it all was a beautiful and young-looking woman who was probably in her twenties, with long white luscious hair and a red flame tattoo going down her exposed Legg sitting behind her desk with a leg above the other.

the woman looking at me smiled and said "Welcome to my office Ms. Pendragon, it's a pleasure to meet you As you may already know my name is NInguand leader of the Qixing" Ninguang said as she introduced herself

"Its a pleasure to meet you as well last Ninguang," I said

"Place take a seat, there is much to talk about," NInguang said

"Indeed," I said back

As I walked over to her desk I still kept my power face as I sat down in that chair in front of her.

"Would you like some tea?" Niguang asked me

"Yes I would like some," I said as Ninguang snapped her fingers and a servant came through the door bringing warm lavender melon tea for us.

as the man put the tea in front of me and Ninguang and left. Ninguang picked up a folder next to her and opened it she said " Asuna Pendragon, age 18, brown hair, brown eyes. Is a hydro vision user who arrived in Liyue a few weeks ago along with her sister Mitsuri Pendragon, in those few weeks she managed to rise to the spot of the manager of the branch she was in because of her superior intelligence and knowledge in mathematics and business. she had even introduced this thing called the time's table which simplifies math and calculations by a large margin and many more types of things of this nature" Ninguang said as she was probably reading a file about me.

"I have to say this resume of yours my people have collected is quite impressive, and the ideas you had come up with are incredible," NInguang said with a smile.

"You are too kind Lady Ninguang, and those ideas are not mine they were taught to me by my father and some books he provided me with," I said with a little bit of pride in my voice

"Oh Your father?, Then he must be someone from the Akademia in Sumeru Considering how genius these ideas are, how has nobody come up with this so simple yet so complex at the same time," Ninguang said

"No, my father was normal... well he wasn't normal but he never showed any signs to us that he was someone important We always have lived in the countryside of Mondstat. now that I think about it I don't know much about his past" I said realizing that I don't know much about my dad.

"... I see," She said as she probably didn't want to dig any deeper as we weren't close enough to tell each other more.

"Going back to the main topic I will be blunt... I want you to become one of my Yuheng, well to be more specific I want you to become a Yuheng intern working under Keqing" She said making me have a surprised face or as my dad would say "Having a surprised Pikachu face" Whatever Pikachu may be.

"Although your business sense is one of the best ones that has been seen in Liyue in a long while you are still inexperienced so you do not qualify to become a Yuheng yet. so instead you would become an intern working under the yuheng keqing. o tel me do you accept, and by the way the dinner detail can be talked about later such as salary and under mundane things" she said

"Sorry but I decline," I said with a firm voice that seemingly surprised Ninguang

Although I enjoy my job, I still want to have a life outside it. Becoming a Yuheng will mean that I will have to put all my dedicated time into a country that I don't really care about at all as I probably won't permanently stay.

the only reason I'm here is because Dad said it would be the best place for me to grow here and get experience and grow along with my sister Mitsuri. it is after all the country of commerce.

"... I see, It is a pity but if you ever think that you do want to become one of the Yuheng then the offer still stands," she said with a smile

"Thank you for your time Lady Ninguang, and good night," I said after I sat up from my seat and approached the door

"Good night miss Pendragon," she said

Before reaching the door I stopped and turned around to face Ninguang.

"If you would indulge me I have a question," I said

Looking at me she said "Ask away"

"Do you perhaps know a person by the name Meliodas?" I asked as I wanted to know the relationship between them.

raising an eyebrow that looked surprised she said "Meliodas?, I do know the name though I don't know him personally" She said

"Really how?" I asked with curiosity

Looking at her she picked up what seemed to be today's newspaper from the Steambird. She stood up and walked to me as she gave me the newspaper with her tea still in hand drinking it.

I took the newspaper from her and as I read the frontline I couldn't help but have a headache coming up, and screamed out "Dad's doing what!!!"

"Mondstats possible new dragon slayer?

in recent weeks of mondstat, there have been attacks by one of the four guardians known as Stormterror, It had gone berserk and attacked the city until a man by the name of Meliodas fended it off twice. though we haven't been able to interview him personally do look forward to coming updates

reading the front cover I instantly wanted to go back to Mondstat and help him, but I could only refrain myself from doing it. I knew I would only burden him if I went back and gave him more things to worry about.

I'm guessing that the reason he sent us away in the first place was because he knew already that Stormterro was going to attack!"

I clenched my fist tightly knowing how weak I was, he himself said that we couldn't do anything about it since we were all weak while he was back home fighting a dragon by himself. With a new resolve burning in my eyes, I looked back to NInguang

(Mc is just rizzing up every girl in Mondstst lol while she is worried LOL)

Only to notice that she spit out her tea and choked she also started coughing because of the tea in her throat

*Pffft*

*Choke*

*Cough* *Cough* *Cough*

patting her back trying to help her pass her tea from her throat she finally calmed down and looked at me.

"he is your father he looks even younger than me, at what age did he and your mom conceive you!!!" she exclaimed in surprise, she was probably shocked to find out that he was my dad, and I don't blame her since my dad is the same age as us.

"I am adopted, when I was younger I was kidnapped by Fatui and was probably going to be sent to their homeland to do who knows what with me, but before they did my father killed them all and took me in along with my four sisters," I said with a warm smile.

"We are the same age by the way"

"Looking at me with a surprised face she said "I see... he has my respect, To raise five young girls by himself and educate you to this level must have been quite the challenge for him considering that he did it at such a young age," she said with eyes felled with awe.

"I will do it," I said making her confused.

"Do what?" she asked

"I will take your offer and become an intern, The whole reason I am here is to grow and become more experienced as Dad wished me to be, But what I wished is to be by his side and help him but I'm too weak to do that. so I will take it I will become a Yuheng and gain wealth and political power unlike any of my sisters and help dad as much as I can!" I said with a determined gaze

Looking at me in surprise Ninguang said "Well if that's the case then I Ninguang the Tianquan of the Qixing welcome you Asuna Pendragon to the Jade chamber as an intern Yuheng. From now on you will be transferred to work here and will learn under Yuheng Keqing" She said with a smile

Returning her smile shook her hand and said "I look forward to working with you"

As I said those words I didn't know that in the not-so-distant future, I would become one of the most influential people in Tayvat. And will be able to do more than to give a hand to Dad in the coming future.
