"Ugh, more training tomorrow!"
Charles Vane suddenly complained after Whitebeard left.
"Hey, just don't complain, use your time to rest."
After saying this, Jozu closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep.
"Get some early sleep and let your bodies relax overnight. Tomorrow's training will be lighter"
After speaking, Marco fell asleep, and Charles Vane and Vista didn't say anything anymore.
That night, all four of them had restless sleep, even dreaming about training in the middle of the night.
…..
On the second day, they woke up and began training as per Whitebeard's instructions.
Whitebeard called them over and stood in front of them.
"You four, let's train for half a day today,"
Whitebeard announced.
"Really? That's great!"
"Thank you, Oyaji."
The four of them quickly expressed their joy, and Whitebeard added, "You train in the morning, and I'll personally guide you in the afternoon."
The four of them were surprised, wondering if Whitebeard was going to guide them in real combat experience
So, Marco and the others immediately resumed weight-bearing training, despite having not very good rest the other night.
Their muscles felt very sore, even worse than they did yesterday.
This is quite normal. Usually, after high-intensity training, muscles tend to feel sore the next day.
Luckily, it was only half a day of training, and Marco and the others were in high spirits.
Enduring for half a day is still commendable, but it's much easier compared to yesterday.
"Marco, any idea what Pops will guide us on this afternoon? Got any guesses?"
Vista asked, curious during their training.
"I'm not sure. Pops hasn't mentioned it, but I think it might involve instructing some combat skills or something else"
Marco replied casually.
"I wonder if the afternoon guidance will be exhausting or not"
Vista couldn't help but express a bit of concern.
However, Jozu remains hopeful, "Don't worry, it will definitely gonna be easier than the training we're going through now."
Even Jozu, who had to endure this devilish training, believed that the actual guidance would be easier.
"We hope so."
With that, the morning passed quickly, and by now, Marco and the others were quite tired.
As they hadn't fully recovered from yesterday's exhaustion, after a morning of training, their fatigue had increased significantly.
After lunch, Marco and the others assembled in front of Whitebeard.
Whitebeard couldn't help but laughed as he observed the four, their faces showing both brightness and fatigue.
"How was it? Did yesterday's training feel effective?"
In response to Whitebeard's question, Marco quickly replied: "Oyaji, I still haven't noticed any effects yet."
"Why can't you see it? Each of you, release Haki and give it a try"
Whitebeard immediately suggested.
"Huh? Release Haki now?" Jozu felt a bit puzzled.
Not just him, others found it odd too, considering that releasing Haki can be a bit draining.
It's not a usual request, and their mental state isn't the best right now.
Nevertheless, Marco did exactly as Whitebeard instructed, clenching his fists.
A strand of Haki emanated from the center of his body, and Marco's hands were instantly shrouded in black.
"How does it feel?" Whitebeard inquired.
Marco's expression turned a bit strange. He immediately changed into his phoenix form and was pleasantly surprised to discover a significant improvement in his use of Haki while in his phoenix form
"Oyaji, the process of releasing Haki seems easier than usual, and using Haki with Devil Fruit power is much smoother"
Marco replied, expressing his surprise.
While the progress may not be significant, Marco could clearly feel the difference.
"Really?"
Jozu asked, following suit and releasing both Haki and Devil Fruit power, as did Charles Vane
Indeed, they all sensed that their utilization of Haki had become somewhat smoother. Apart from Marco and Vista, the others were not particularly skilled in using Haki.
Marco's Armament Haki and Observation Haki are decent, not weak but not particularly strong either.
Jozu leans toward Armament Haki, Vista favors Observation Haki, and Charles Vane is the least adept with Haki because his Logia fruit
Therefore, the initial step in Whitebeard's training is to focus on Haki.
"Oyaji, how did this happen? Why are we seeing such good results in weight training toward Haki?"
Marco asked with curiosity and delight. Even though it had only been one day, the progress was already remarkable and somewhat frightening.
"Guurarara, Haki, though it depends on everyone's aptitude, there are some straightforward methods to forcibly improve it"
"As long as you understand the essence of Haki, you'll realize that the benefits of weight training extend beyond just that"
"Haki can comprehensively showcase a person's strength, but there are also many influencing factors"
"One of those factors is the strength of the body, as your Haki is only as good as your physical strength."
"So, under the training plan I devised, you can see very noticeable results."
Whitebeard shared some of his insights with them, leaving the group in awe.
"Pops, I still don't get why physical strength affects the use of Haki"
Jozu asked once more.
"Weight-bearing training accelerates the internal circulation of your body and simultaneously enhances lung capacity. In simple terms, your body can hold more gas"
"When using Haki, the body's circulation also indirectly comes into play. The stronger the internal circulation, the smoother the use of Haki"
"Of course, there's a prerequisite that you all must know how to use Haki, and the foundation of your Haki shouldn't be too high."
After Whitebeard clarified, everyone suddenly had an epiphany.
Following this, Whitebeard personally began guiding the four of them through special training.
Whitebeard first approached Marco and asked, "How far have you come with what I taught you last time?"
Previously, Whitebeard had given personal instructions to Marco, directing him to compress the Phoenix's flame on a specific part of his body.
The highly compressed phoenix flame possesses very strong power, serving not only as an offensive tool but also providing a healing effect.
In simpler terms, even if the enemy tries to counter the moves, the Phoenix's flame can automatically regenerate under the opponent's attack.
This move is undeniably very useful in combat against an enemy
Marco had been practicing this, and now he confidently raised his hands and clenched them into fists.

Note: Well, it is still not Hardcore enough though, remember that Garp used to punch a ship as his physical training, and punching/destroying mountains for training haki (from Dressrosa act, when Luffy fight Chinjou, he give Luffy a little explaining about Garp power).
