Chapter 6: Rasengan?

Within a vast crater, a small girl stood still, her hand enveloped in swirling violet chakra, resembling an untamed ocean. Her mother stood by her side, offering guidance as Yukari struggled to manifest her chakra properly. Despite numerous attempts, her chakra only materialized in a gaseous state, phasing through objects, and she had just begun to shape it into a gauntlet with rippling energy around her arms. Frustration crept over her as she wondered if she was missing a crucial piece of the puzzle, but her mother wore a knowing grin, allowing her to figure it out on her own and lay a stronger foundation.

Rolling her eyes, Yukari noticed the encroaching darkness, signaling the end of their training session. Aware of her daughter's thought process, her mother informed her that they would continue their training the following day. It was time to gather as a family and share a meal in their new home. Yukari's anger still smoldered at the memory of her treasured moments being ruined, particularly the paintings she had created with her family. However, the awakening of her powers brought her joy and drew her closer to her mother, who shared the burden.

With a sly wink, Kaguya, Yukari's mother, playfully requested her daughter's assistance in opening a portal back home, citing her own exhaustion. Yukari pouted, questioning whether she had become her mother's personal chauffeur. As usual, a purple portal with rough edges appeared, and they stepped through it together. "Wow, that was quick. Those puppets are really helpful; they built a house in a single day," Yukari commented.

Pausing for a moment, she asked her mother, "Mom, can I still visit your castle?" Kaguya responded, assuring her that she could visit anytime using her portals. "Oh yeah, I forgot," Yukari said, adorably tilting her head, earning a deadpan look from her mother. Yukari admired the house the puppets had constructed, finding comfort in its warmth and coziness. Kaguya smiled and expressed her happiness that Yukari felt at home there.

In the dining room, a large variety of dishes were brought by puppets. Her brothers, Hagoromo and Hamura, who looked tired followed after. "It seems your training went well," said Kaguya. "Training? Ha, they probably just slept all day," Yukari remarked with a smirk as she picked up her chopsticks. Her brothers grinned and started to eat. The room was peaceful and quiet as the family ate dinner together and talked about their day. Their mother smiled contentedly as she watched her kids get along and have fun with one another. They talked about their plans for the days ahead while they were eating, cracking each other up with jokes.

As the night quickly ended, a new day started. Yukari got up and went about her usual morning routine as she awaited the start of training. She wondered why her chakra was gaseous and not solid like her mother's. She thought of a million ways to turn a gas into a solid and came up with a few ideas that she was ready to try. Her mother suddenly interrupted her as she was about to begin her training. As usual, she opened a portal to the God Tree.

After chatting with her mother, Yukari descended to the ground and created a ball-shaped chakra with her hand. She understood that in order to perfect this shinjustu, she should start with a simple shape like a sphere. She swooped down toward a rock and launched a chakra ball at it with her palm. The rock had minor damage. Not completely disappointed because she had actually succeeded in producing a solid shape free of ripple, she once again considered how to increase the damage output. Of course, increasing the chakra would expand the sphere and increase the damage, but that would be counterproductive. She needed a strategy to build a sphere with strong chakra that was still manageable in size.

She spread out her hand and started to implode a lot of chakra into it. On her hand was a sphere that measured one meter. Thoughts of compressing her chakra crossed her mind as the shape remained intact. She started rotating the chakra in her hand and gradually compressing it after sensing that the missing piece of the puzzle had been found from yesterday.

A compressing and rotating purple ball-shaped chakra could be seen in her palm. When she saw the results she was happy with, she sprinted towards the rock, breaking it in half and passing through. In fragments, the rock exploded. The shards of rock scattered around her, and she felt a sense of excitement wash over her as she realized that she had finally achieved what she had been working towards. She knew that there was still much work to be done, but in that moment, she allowed herself to bask in the glory of her success.

Her mother, who carefully watched every move her daughter made, was aware that her daughter was intelligent and could solve the problem. Her daughter was performing a victory dance when she floated over to her and hugged her. Kaguya whispered to Yukari, "You did a great job, sweetie; Mom is very proud." Yukari beamed with joy as she hugged her mother back, feeling grateful for the support and encouragement. With a little more practice, she knew she could construct a partially functional version of her mother's shinjustu.

As Yukari continued to form the sphere of chakra she called Rasengan, the sun reached its midday position. During the day, she made various sizes of Rasengans, each of which caused a different amount of destruction. Yukari's mastery of the rasengan technique was a testament to her exceptional chakra control and combat skills.
