Divine intervention

The Blind Deity was about to walk away when Xander called out to Neriti. "I need your help. You promised to support me."

Suddenly, the runes painted on the tiled floor caught on fire and were burned clean off the tiles, leaving behind blackened marks. The magic circle surrounding Xander disappeared, freeing him from its paralyzing grasp.

As soon as Xander was able to move again, he looked around him. "Where are you? I need you to deal with the Blind Deity. I did all you asked for. Now I need you to return the favor."

Neriti chuckled in response. "That was never the deal, Dreamwalker. I told you I will never directly confront another celestial being for your sake. But I am here to help you with some much-needed wisdom."
