Chapter 43 - Battle - Part 1

Two Days Later -

"It seems like, murderer stayed in this house."

Skalain commented as he looked around abandoned house. He was alone and after two days of work he finally picked up a trail left by the murderer himself. Using his new spells and knowledge he gathered from the parchements left by Dark Archive.

"He or she only spent one day here at the very most. The leftover magical energy shows that."

Skalain took a deep breath and then left the house for the time being.

As he left his heart started beating faster and faster.

"Someone is watching me !"

He exclaimed as he started looking around without making it too obvious.

As Skalain's keen senses picked up on the foreboding presence, he instinctively knew danger was imminent. His heart quickened, and his mind raced to assess the situation unfolding before him.

Seconds later, he saw two figures in front of himself. One of them was a female one of them was a male, he can tell by their body shape despite the fact that they were wearing black robes.

The two figures clad in black exuded an air of malevolence, their intentions clear as they directed their hands towards Skalain.

In response, Skalain swiftly summoning the dark energies that flowed through him. With a deft command, six Skeletons were materialized, their bony frames standing firm, ready to shield their master from harm.

"Protect me."

Skalain commanded as the skeletons formed a protective circle around of Skalain.

The green vines emerged from the hands of the mysterious assailants, snaking through the air with a sinister intent. Skalain's eyes narrowed as he assessed the threat, his mind calculating the best course of action. He knew he couldn't afford to underestimate his adversaries, for their powers seemed rooted in nature itself.

The skeletons moved with uncanny coordination, their punches penetrating through the air, striking against the encroaching green tendrils. Bones clashed with vines, creating an eerie symphony of battle.

The power of skeletons were increased a lot after Skalain had an increase in his level and skills. With each punch, parts of vines were destroyed.

Skalain, standing behind his loyal defenders, observed the ongoing struggle. His mind raced, seeking an opportunity to turn the tide in his favor. Assessing the situation, he conjured a dark energy bolt in his hand, his fingers tingling with power. With precise aim, he unleashed the decay bolt towards one of the assailants, aiming to disrupt their concentration and weaken their hold on the vines.

"Decay Bolt"

Skalain whispered as the decay bolt left his hands and targeted to female one, At that time, the woman spoke guarding with her arm.

"The Nature Shield."

With the whisper of the woman a green colored triangle-shaped shield manifest in front of herself and blocks the Decay Bolt, the decay bolt vanishes after breaking the shield, the woman summoned.

"Tch."

"Green Spear Volley."

As the woman mage's eyes glinted with malice, she swiftly conjured five deadly spears of vibrant green energy. With a flick of her wrist, she unleashed the projectiles, each hurtling towards Skalain with deadly precision.

Reacting with urgency, two of Skalain's skeletons moved to intercept the incoming assault, their bones clashing against the oncoming spears. The clash of magic and bone echoed through the air as the green spears collided with the skeletal warriors.

Despite their valiant effort, the relentless force of the spears proved too much for the skeletal guardians to withstand. The powerful impact shattered their bony frames, causing them to crumble into a pile of dust. Skalain watched in dismay as his loyal protectors fell, their duty fulfilled even in their final moments.
