Ning Shen narrowed his eyes at Gu Jin.

Bringing Gu Jin to the Ning residence as a guest was like inviting a wolf into the house.

Gu Jin's expression remained unchanged. Her cold phoenix eyes locked onto his as she said mockingly, "Why? Afraid?"

Ning Shen sneered and signaled his bodyguards to step back. "I have pressing matters at home today. I can't give you the attention you deserve. I'll extend another invitation soon. Don't refuse."

It wasn't fear; it was caution.

He returned to the car and glanced at Ning Gui. "Gui."

Gu Yang held onto Ning Gui's arm, preventing her from leaving.

Ning Shen frowned, casting a dark look at Gu Yang and Gu Jin. He said to Ning Gui, "Gui, take care of yourself."

Ning Gui's teeth clenched. "What about my mother's illness…?"

Gu Jin raised an eyebrow. "Oh? Mrs. Ning is ill? What a coincidence. I know a bit about medicine. I could check on her if you'd like."
