I wasn't born the way my father wanted me to be born. I was deemed a failure. Even my mother wouldn't look at me in the loving way a parent should.
I did nothing wrong, nothing to deserve this. But I am powerless.
-[The Day of Birth]-
In the Realm of the Land Gods, a new day's sun had begun to rise. A lone fox sat upon a hill had started to open its eyes. It was the Fox God.
The current God of the Foxes, named Gail, had woken up to hear some peculiar news.
A guard of the Fox God's wife had walked up to their leader and said, "Lord Gail. Your wife has requested that you go to visit her immediately."
Gail looked straight at he guard and said, "Do you know what she possibly could need? If she requires a certain thing, I will get it for her."
The guard shook his head and said, "I have not been informed of what the matter is but judging by her facial expression was, I'd say that the news, whatever it may be, is definitely important."
With a long yawn and some stretches, Gail began to head to where his wife was. He did not know what the news would entitle but he would soon find out.
Gail began to run down the hill with extreme speed and grace to the nicely decorated cave stationed at the bottom of the hill he was currently at.
Gail managed to make it to the entrance of the cave within five seconds. It was a nearly 100 metre dash to the cave but the Fox God was fast enough to make it there in the shortest amount of time possible.
Gail began to enter the cave and headed down the main path to the area where things would normally be difficult for intruders.
This cave is no ordinary cave. It isn't naturally made but instead it was made with earth magic. It has constant twists and turns that you would definitely get lost in if you didn't know the way.
After a minute of running through the correct pathway, Gail was now stood in front of a door about ten feet tall and six feet wide.
Gail then took a deep breath and said, "I, Gail, the God of all Foxes, hereby request access into this sealed chamber."
The door began to light up. It was a magic door and it could only be accessible to those with the authority to do so.
After a few seconds of the door undoing the placed seal, the doors began to slowly open. Inside of the room was a woman, sat upon a bed.
"Welcome back, Dear." said the woman.
Gail, who was in his fox form, assumed his mimicked human form and walked towards the woman.
Gail stopped in front of her and said, "Yes. I am back, my dear Fray."
Fray started to giggle a bit but stopped after a second. She assumed a more serious face and looked at her husband, Gail.
"I assume that the guard as told you to come meet me here immediately." said Fray.
Gail nodded his head 'yes'.
Fray then said, "Well then. I have something to tell you. Something important."
Gail started to worry about what it could be. After all, he loved his wife more than being a God.
Fray then said, "I'm pregnant. You know what this means."
Gail, who had been assuming the worst started to relax a bit until he finally processed what he had heard.
Gail then said, "You're pregnant? Like, for real? Please tell me you're not tricking me."
Fray smiled and laughed. "Of course I'm not tricking you. I mean it!"
Gail began to have a wholesome and happy smile creep across his face. Gail then hugged his wife and said, "Yes! I'm going to be a father!"
Fray then smiled and hugged Gail back.
Gail then disengaged from the embrace and said, "How long have you been pregnant?"
Fray, who was much smarter and shorter than Gail said, "With some illusion magic I've been able to hide the pregnancy from you for the last few months. I wasn't sure how you'd react to this so I was scared to tell you."
Gail then dumbly asked, "Why would you be scared to tell me something like that? A thing like that is kind of important, you know."
Fray then sighed and said, "Remember that fight you started with the Orc Lord a few months back? You kicked his ass even though he was more than twice your size. That's plenty a reason to be slightly scared."
Gail then replied, "Well that jackass deserved it! He was mocking the great person my father was."
Fray smiled. Gail then said, "So let's back on track now. Have you started picking a name for our child? Like a name if it's a boy or a girl."
Fray then said, "I haven't chose any name because I wanted to do that with you."
Gail felt like the happiest God ever in this moment. He then said, "Well, for me I'd like to wait until the child is born to fully name it."
Fray smiled and said, "Alright! That sounds good. But it doesn't hurt to pick out a few names now, does it?"
Gail then said, "No. It does not. So, shall we begin immediately?"
Fray nodded her head 'yes'.
-[Six Months Later]-
On this very day it has become a time for celebration. The heir to Gail, the Fox God, has been born.
Gail and Fray sat in their room, holding their child. Gail then said, "So, it was a boy. Are you okay naming it the name I picked out for a male?"
Fray nodded her head 'yes' with a smile. Gail then smiled and said, "Alright. Welcome to the Realm of the Land God's, Kit."
What Gail and Fray do not know is that their child is "defective". The colour of Kit's fur on his head had begun to change after a few months.
He was once pure white but an orange stripe came into the mix.
His once lively and loving parents became cold and distant. They left him alone for days on end and relied on the guards and servants to take care of Kit.
Kit, being a child of a God, had a slowed aging process. He would love to be about 1000 years old but even after all that time, his parents wouldn't love him.
-[Seven Months Later]-
Kit has learned how to speak telepathically and use magic. It is surprising for him to be able to do all that at such an early age.
His parents were slightly surprised at his growth in magic and the way of telepathy but they still didn't care for his well being.
-[In Gail & Fray's Chamber]-
"So, are you sure we she do this?" said Gail.
Fray had donned a serious face and said, "Yes. We cannot be looked down upon by the other Gods."
Gail was slightly saddened by Fray's idea but he went along with it.
-[Nighttime]-
A woman entered Kit's chamber and picked up Kit. A man appeared behind her and wrapped the fox in a small blanket.
Kit began to wake up but the woman used a sedative to get him back asleep. The man and woman then stealthily left the chamber, then the cave, and made their way towards the portal to the mortal realm.
The man then said, "I, Gail, God of the Foxes, request for the portal to be opened."
A blue light began to appear on the portal's pad and the light began to spin clockwise.
After a few seconds the portal had been opened and it showed the inside of a forest.
Gail walked through the portal with Kit and set him down on the grass. Gail then said, "I, Gail, God of the Foxes, hereby strip your name and denounce you to the mortal realm."
He then placed a curse onto his son to not allow him to re-enter the realm unless one of the Gods permit for him to do so.
Gail walked back through the portal and disconnected it.
-[Two Days Later]-
I woke up in a strange place. It has bushes and trees all around it. I guess mom and dad wanted to challenge me or something?
Maybe they want me to find my way back home to see if I can remember!
Well, I should begin exploring this new area.
-[Four Hours Later]-
Woah. What kind of animals are those? They look like wolves but they don't have the same aura...
I'll use one of my skills I inherited, [Inspect]!
[Hell Hound]
[Dark Wolf]
Oh? So it's a "Hell Hound"? Never heard of it. Maybe it's friendly?
Only one way to find out. I walked up to the Hell Hound and said, "Hello?"
The Hell Hound swiped it's claws at me.
Ah, crap. It got my leg pretty good! I need to get out of here. But the amount of blood I've lost is way too much.
I can feel my conscience fading...
All of a sudden I heard a girl say, "Now!"
I had now blacked out.
