Alex's weapon.

The rest of the recruits, most of which were shaking in fear, looked at the two kids like they were morons with a death wish. Which, wasn't an entirely incorrect assessment of the two, if we're being honest.

Alex looked around. "Can we start at any time?"

The instructor nodded, curious as to what the kid was gonna do when the boat was 50 feet away.

Shanks jumped onto Alex's back like he was a backpack and pointed his sword forwards. "Onwards my noble steed!"

Alex laughed and ran to the railings, he leapt off with all his might and his spring boots launched him and Shanks through the air.

They laughed like maniacs as they flew through the air.

All the marines watched in shock as two kids who were barely teenagers led the charge against a group of vicious pirates with jolly looks on their faces.

Maya and Sarah looked concerned and the instructor had his jaw hit the floor. He quickly started flipping though his notes to see who these kids were. However, he couldn't find a thing about them other than their names and that they were definitely 18.

The trio of devil fruit users, Akainu, Kizaru, and Aokiji looked at them, impressed.

Even Akainu smiled!

"At least they hunt the filth well." He said with a proud smile as he nodded in approval.

At this point, Alex landed on the deck of the enemy ship. Shanks hopped off his shoulders with a smile.

The two stood back to back, encircled by a group of pirates.

Suddenly, Alex cursed. "I forgot to grab a weapon!"

Half the recruits fell over in shock. "What kind of moron doesn't grab a weapon?!"

Shanks and Alex laughed.

Shanks stomped his foot into the ground and kicked it back up, dislodging a plank from the deck.

"Here." He said as he tossed it to Alex.

Alex sighed. "At this rate my weapon of choice really will be a two by four."

Shanks laughed at Alex as the pirates changed.

Alex smiled and swung his plank at the pirate closest to him. The man fell to his knees and Alex pushed down on his head as he hurdled over him. He turned around and kicked the guy in the butt before dodging a sword that was swung at him. Alex kicked the ground and dashed towards the man as his plank made contact with his face.

Alex spun around and hit another guy in the arm, causing him to drop the gun he was holding. However, two men lunged at Alex and he had no way out.

Suddenly he launched up into the air with the help of his boots. He did a flip over the two men and landed on a third's shoulders. Alex swung the plank down and hit the man he was standing on in the nose.

The man collapsed and Alex stepped back onto the deck. Three more people charged at Alex who dodged two punches before blocking a sword that was stabbing at him with his plank. The sword lodged into the plank and Alex let go. The man holding the sword wasn't expecting this and fell backwards.

The plank stuck to the sword hit two more pirates in the head and Alex ran at the and with a sword before punching him in the face with his gloves.

Alex looked around and noticed that the marines' ship was almost close enough to board now. He also saw that he and Shanks had taken out around a third of the whole crew. He quickly counted the men on the ground and estimated that there were around 15 already unable to fight.

A loud thump pulled Alex away from his thoughts. He looked up to see a man with a weird hat standing at the helm of the ship.

"Enough, you weaklings get out of here, I'll handle these two brats!"

The crew quickly tried to flee but Alex and Shanks both hit at one each, taking them out of the fight.

The person from before who Alex assumed to be the captain jumped down and landed in front of the two boys.

He rose to his feet, and drew his sword. He stood tall, at least twice the height of the boys.

A smile formed on the man's face. " I'll show you boys what it means to be a pirate."

He slashed his sword down and Alex. Alex jumped back, causing the blade to miss.

In place of where Alex just was where the man's sword hit the deck exploded into diced cubes.

The man laughed. "How do you like my cube cube fruit? Anything I touch turns to cubes."

Shanks looked over at Alex and whispered. "Why is this dumb ass telling us what his fruit is?"

Alex shrugged before picking up a sword from one of the men he knocked down.

Shanks ran at the man while Alex used his boots to jump over Shanks. The two boys both attacked to the man at the same time. The captain blocked Alex's attack with his sword, while kicking Shanks in the chest.

Alex's sword exploded into cubes while shanks went flying back into a wall.

The man tried to grab Alex, but narrowly missed as he jumped backwards. Shanks groaned and climbed out from the rubble.

"That fucking hurt." He mumbled before a smile formed on his face. "But not nearly as much as Captain or Uncle Garp."
