Trick 126: Sharon can handle suits just fine.

Ace returned to the facility with everyone, he even rode in the same van as Steve, not saying anything. They arrived and Steve, Sam, T'Challa, and Ace got out of the van. There were gunmen everywhere and Ace turned to see Sharon with another guy, he walked over and Steve asked "What's gonna happen to him?"

The guy smiled "The same thing that oughta happen to you. Psychological evaluation and extradition." Ace walked over to Sharon and leaned over, whispering, when the guy stretched out his hand, saying "You are also part of them."

Ace paused and turned to look at him, staring down as he said "I apprehended a criminal?" the guy smiled "Without orders." Ace nodded and said "I see. You realize that I could turn every fiber of your being to ashes, right?"

The man nodded and Ace grinned, revealing teeth "Good. Remember that." before turning to Sharon, who rolled her eyes, saying "This is Everett Ross, Deputy Task Force Commander."

Ace ignored Ross' eyes and whispered to Sharon, "Was it good? Not crazy, right?" Sharon whispered back "No, but the big guys are angry." Ace replied "I caught Bucky? Good?" Sharon sighed "No, bad. THEY didn't get him, understand?"

Ace was confused and replied "I really don't." Sharon pinched his cheek, saying "You're so cute." Everett Ross had already coughed dozens of times, but nobody was listening to him.

He brought everyone to an office and Ace sat at a table as Everett Ross sat across from him, saying "Just a couple questions." Ace looked at him replying "I really, REALLY, don't like you. Like really a lot. Like you make me sick."

Ross smiled and nodded, "Noted. So in accordance with paragraph 15 section F of the Sokovia Accords, you are required, by law, to provide full details and circumstantial descriptions of the moment you got your powers."

Ace looked at him and replied "I was born." Ross wrote down, "Mhm. And where would you say you feel your powers come from?" Ace frowned and said "Excuse me?" Ross looked at him and smiled "You actually have to answer, legally. Otherwise… Hehe… You wouldn't be conforming to the Sokovia Accords and therefore a criminal."

Ace nodded and said "Oh! In that case, come here." Ross leaned in and Ace smashed his face into the table, saying "I'm not signing the Accords." Ross groaned "Ow…" as he rubbed his nose.

Steve and Tony walked over quickly asking "What are you doing?!" Ace crossed his arms and said "I don't like this guy. He's asking strange questions, saying if I don't answer 'em, I'm going to jail."

Steve frowned "What?" Tony said "Well, we were all asked questions… What did you say, Ross." Ross replied "Nothing, normal questions." Tony rolled his eyes, saying "The Wizard doesn't hit anyone, he's a really nice guy. So what did you say?"

Ace said, "He wanted to know when and where I got my power, as well as where I feel it coming from. Am I a test subject? Honestly, is that why I'm here? Let me know, so I can leave. Please."

Steve looked at Tony and said "Come on, seriously?" Tony looked at him, saying "You think I knew about this? How am I supposed to know what they're thinking! I didn't even know he was a prisoner until around 5 seconds ago."

As he was speaking, he grabbed Ross and pulled him up, saying "Listen. How about next time, now hear me out, you don't question an Avenger like a criminal, okay?" Ross nodded and Tony let him go, saying "Get out of here, honestly. Making me look bad."

Ace stood up and said "No, you know, please. Ask away. Maybe you'll want to open me up like a rat next, hm?" Tony pressed on his chest, saying "Relax, relax, we're all friends here."

Ross walked away awkwardly and Ace smoothed down his cloak, replying "Are we?" as he turned to Tony, saying "Because I remember you not wanting to be a part of the Government. What happened to the old Ironman? I really miss him."

Ace looked him up and down, saying "I guess the Ironman who told Senators to kiss his ass died along with the Chitauri. It's a real fucking shame." as he slapped Tony's hand, adding "Governments, they're all greedy… They don't care about protecting the people, they only want to find out why we're special."

He walked away snorting "I wonder what you'll do when they kick you to the curb after getting their hands on the Ironman suit." Tony walked over and raised his voice "You think I wanted this!? You think it was me?! What's up with you, man! You've been acting different!"

Ace turned around and shouted "You want to know what I've seen?! You're the one who changed! All of a sudden, you're the government guy! I went to another Universe, you wanna know what I saw? A world government ready to annihilate an innocent person for trespassing! How about this one! They took the artifact of a Martyr and tore it to shreds trying to find out how it worked!"

Ace poked Tony in the chest, saying "How about Senator Stern? Hm? Everyone wanted the suit before and what did you do now? You gave it up, Tony! You gave up when you signed these ridiculous documents! We saved the world twice now! Two times! This is what we get! Listen, I don't care if people don't like me, hell, they can hate me! But becoming a criminal is crossing the line!"

Tony retorted with a shout "And you think I have a choice!? Do you think I'm having a good time seeing my friends being divided over a piece of paper? Hm?! Don't tell me I changed when I didn't have a choice! It's this or enemy of the world! You pick!"

Ace looked at him and nodded, "You wanna die on this hill, Tony? You really wanna take these documents to the grave? Because you're pushing everyone away! Nobody wants to be under the UN! Nobody wants to be told what they can and cannot do! I'm not a hero because I care for the fame and glory! If I have to be a criminal on the run, I will be!"

He looked around at everyone looking at him and snorted "Nobody decides who and when I save people. I save them because I want to, not because a group of people tell me to." before turning back to Tony, adding "If you can't understand that then… I don't know what to tell you, Tony. With all your brains, you can't even put that together. Maybe it's better for you to turn over the Ironman suit to someone who cares."

He waved and walked to the door, as Ross said "You can't leave!" Ace snorted "Come stop me then." as he walked out the door. Nobody stopped him.

Steve looked at Tony and said "Nice one." before chasing after Ace, saying "Hold on a second, Cloak." Tony frowned and clenched his fist as Ross came over. Tony glared at him and said "You better not say a fucking word, I promise you it will be the last word you're able to speak."

Ross swallowed and Tony flipped the table, sitting in the chair as he held his forehead with one hand.

Ace bumped into Sharon on the way out and said "Sorry." she was startled and asked "What happened?" Ace sighed and explained the situation to her, as he was explaining Steve ran over and said "Hey, man. You alright?"

Ace looked at him and Sharon frowned "What the hell, Steve?!" Steve sighed and replied "What do you want me to do? Tony's made up his mind, I can't change it."

Ace patted Sharon's shoulder, saying "I'm alright. Sorry for causing a scene." Steve waved his hand, replying "It's fine, but you should come back. We can talk about it, you know, maybe-" Ace patted his shoulder, saying "Steve. If you need me, call me. Otherwise, I'm done. I'm not playing this game with a bunch of people who think I'm a fun toy to play around with."

He smiled and added "Being on the run is nothing new." Sharon pressed on his chest and said "No. You're not going to leave. Not now." Ace looked at her and said gently "Sharon…" Sharon shouted "Listen! I will talk to that little bitch, Ross."

Steve smirked, looking at Ace strangely. Sharon ignored him and waved her ring in front of his face, saying "Hm!?" Ace sighed and stroked her cheek saying "I don't want you to lose your job."

Sharon threw her hands up saying "I don't want to work for a government that acts like this! We're the Heroes, not mad scientists! This isn't right!" as she marched off into the office, pushing the doors open violently.

Steve and Ace watched her as Steve held his belt, saying "A good girl." Ace smiled and replied "Yeah. It breaks my heart to leave." Steve looked at him and said "Then don't. Nobody wants you to leave. Tony is under a lot of stress right now, he'll come to his senses. We can all figure it out… together."

Ace frowned and shook his head, "I'm telling you it's not possible. I've left a place that forced me before, we can't have someone telling us what to do. Like you said, Steve. Agendas change. Maybe one day, we'll be sent somewhere else for someone's plans. Then what?"

Steve was silent and Ace patted his chest, saying "Hey, Steve. Here's a piece of advice. Make sure the government stops interfering in Enhanced beings' lives. Otherwise, you're going to have a lot of blood on your hands. You, of all people, must know what happens when people's freedoms are taken away, right?"

Steve frowned and Ace nodded in silence, patting his shoulder before turning around to walk away. Steve watched him go and sighed, turning back to the office.

Sharon looked at Steve as he entered and said "He left?" Steve nodded and Sharon snorted, crossing her arms, "Typical. He does that. He'll pay for it." Steve looked over to see Ross with blood all over his face, sitting on the ground.

Sharon wiped her bloody hands with a rag, saying "Anybody else?" everyone stayed silent and Sharon nodded, "Good. We're not a gang, we're the good guys. You'd do good to remember that before you go questioning people who saved your pathetic lives."

She looked down at Ross and added "How about you? You come to your senses? Or should I give it another try. Maybe I should find out where your idiocy comes from. Hm?" Ross shook his head and Sharon squatted down, smiling "Good. Unlike Cloak, I'm not so morally just."

She patted his cheek and smiled sarcastically before getting up saying "I will be reporting your behavior, Ross. I hope you like pushing pencils." Ross looked at her with confusion as she tilted her head with her hands on her hips, "Threatening a Superhero under custody with the promise of jail time, blackmail, and thought to torture."

She shook her head and 'tsk tsk'd, "Poor thing, you might end up looking through a grid yourself! That's life I suppose!" Ross retorted "You can't! You haven't done anything!" Sharon touched her chin with her finger, saying "Hm… Your word against mine. I wonder who will come out on top! You, a nobody, vs Me, Peggy Carter's niece! Goodluck!"

She gave him a professional smile before walking to the console, saying "I'm taking over this operation, questions?" The person sitting there shook their head like a rattle, saying "Please don't hit me." Sharon rolled her eyes and replied "Relax."

Tony was speechless and Natasha whistled, looking at Steve, who smiled and said to her "Just like her Aunt." Sam coughed and rubbed his chest, muttering "Damn…" T'Challa played with a ring on his finger, watching the commotion without a ripple.

However, he quite admired the Cloak fellow. To turn criminal for your beliefs is a very hard thing to do.
