Fleeing

A few dozen meters away and behind the tree line, Seph heard the boy's shout.

'Shit, how have they noticed that I'm gone already?! Nothing I've done has been out of the ordinary!'

Seph wasn't sure what to do now. If she continued trying to run, it would be tough to escape. She could probably stop now and play it off as her going about to collect some herbs… but she suspected that she'd be watched closely afterward.

'I don't have time to sit around here and wait for them to stop watching me.'

Having made up her mind to continue, Seph urged her horse to move faster. She quickly found a deer trail leading away from the river, so she directed her horse to follow along it.

'If they have tracking dogs, there's no way I'll be able to just run away here. I've never seen any in town, though… This could be ok.'

Roughly an hour ago, a short while after Seph left the house.
