*a few days prior*

Y/n was at the back of the crowd riding his Ilu. He wasn't focused on what was happening he was staring down at the water both seeing his reflection as well as the deeper layer of the water the life underneath,

He sighed deeply, thinking about how he was living his life on Pandora.

He did things that he wasn't exactly proud of especially because the thing he had done would list him as a villain. He wouldn't deny that the things he has done are things a villain would do.

Just thinking about it can drain a person's morale especially the biggest which is regret but at the same time he doesn't regret what he did,

y/n noticed his water reflection was starting to wobble looking at what was causing it he noticed that they were coming from someone else who was making his way over.

As they got closer they passed him and then turned around so they could ride next to each other. The person looked at him with the normal smile that he usually likes to have on his face.

Y/n: oh hey Tonowari what are you doing back here shouldn't you be at the front leading us?

Tonowari: Well we have some downtime till we get to the next place that the creature was last seen at and I noticed you, my young friend, what troubles you?

Y/n: is it really that obvious?

Tonowari: I can tell through your body and connection with your Ilu.

y/n looked at himself then at his Ilu. before looking back at Tonowari.

Tonowari: I could see you from the front seeing your face seeing how you seemed troubled as well as your Ilu. Did you not notice that it was acting differently than normal?

Y/n: now that you say something she has been pretty quiet for some time now.

Y/n reaches out and starts to scratch its head which turns its face from a sad look back to its more normal Cheery personality.

Tonowari: remember my friend that your connection allows you both to feel each other. Your Emotions as well. But back to the naib topic, what troubles you, my friend?

Y/n looked down thinking for a moment before letting out a sigh and then looking back up at the water looking lively as normal.

Y/n: I....I have been thinking about what kind of person I am. How horrible of a person I am for being selfish and greedy 

Tonowari: You see these as traits that make you a bad person?

y/n nodded at him.

Tonowari: I may not know what you have done in the past but just because you have those traits doesn't make you a bad person. Those come from your actions now then think, have things you done hurt anyone?

y/n thought back to the thing he had done had he hurt anyone?......…. Nop no one comes to mind at all to him. Yep, no one at all.

But now Tonowari mentions it. Has he done any good from his actions? He got kiri videos from her mother that were about her. He got the two brothers' video of their father when he was younger. Saved tuk as well as pleasuring Neytiri who has been slightly sexually frustrated.

Y/n: you know after thinking about both the bad and the good things I had done. I have done more good than bad. But that doesn't mean the bad things I have done weren't for the right reason. 

Tonowari: y/n

He looks at Tonowari who was using his name instead of the nickname that he always called him.

Tonowari: Here is one piece of advice I can give you: stop worrying about the past. Good people can do bad things for things they believe are right.

y/n: huh yeah I guess you are right.

Tonowari: when you become a leader you know a thing or two.

Y/n thinks for a moment before looking back up at Tonowari.

Y/n: Can I tell you something personal?

Tonowari: Yes, of course you can.

Y/n sighed before he told him what he had to say.

*present day*

Y/n was lying on his bed, his arm on top of his face. Covering his eyes from the sun about a day or two had passed, and he hadn't seen anyone since then. He had just been in his home lying down in bed.

Y/n had locked his little door by tying a rope he made to stop the door from opening. He Hasn't eaten anything since before the whole cave Incident.

Kiri and the others stopped by a few times trying to get him to leave but he didn't say anything. He hadn't slept much either, besides when he came back his sleeping was mostly for about an hour or two.

He was just there existing. When he heard a knock on his door, he shrugged it off as the others tried to get him to leave before he heard someone he did not expect.

???: Y/n please open the door I need to talk to you.

He could tell that the loss of Tonowari was hitting her hard but she was still trying to keep the strong act up for her kids.

He got up and walked over to the door. He took the rope off the handle of it and opened his door.

His eyes took a moment to adjust to the blazing light of the Sun. The navi woman stepped into his place before he closed the door, noticing someone watching from far away.

He quickly waves at them to show that he was alright before the door shut.

He walked over to his bed and sat there.

Y/n: I wish I could offer you a better seat but this is all I got here.

Ronal: I can see. How are you doing?

Y/n let out a small chuckle before he looked at her. His eyes showed a little less life than he normally had in them.

Y/n: I should be asking you that after all, you are his mate.

Ronal: I…. I will live with what has happened. There is nothing I can do.

Y/n: I know you and you always had our differences and I know I may not look like it now but if you ever need to talk to anyone I am here. 

Ronal thinks for a moment before giving him a nod.

Ronal: I want to ask you something.

y/n: of course anything.

Ronal: wh… what was he like when he was dying did he say anything?

Y/n: he was at peace when he was dying he said he couldn't wait to be one with ewya and that….. He trusts me to watch over his family for him.

He noticed a tear falling down her face. she quickly wiped it away. He slowly raised his hand and rubbed her shoulder.

Ronal: thanks

y/n: it's no problem just some words from me don't keep your emotions bottled up otherwise it will eventually start to hurt you much worse than you think.

She let out a small chuckle which y/n looked at her confused.

Ronal: Tonowari would have said the same thing. Even though I am Tsahìk Tonowari, I always seem to know better than I did about eywa. Y/n I would like for you to say something about him before he becomes one with eywa.

Y/n: are you sure? I would only expect people of family to do that.

Ronal: I believe that it would be best to have someone he took as a pupil who trained and considers you close to family even if I disagree with him about it.

y/n: "Quietly" so he did as well?

Ronal: hm?

Y/n: nothing. But still, I believe families should do it.

Ronal: we will but I wanted you to be a part of this as well so what do you say?

Y/n: well if you would have me then yes I would be happy to do so.

Ronal: great thank you for doing this.

y/n found it interesting how different she was when she was not hating him for not being a full-blood Navi so it was refreshing.

Rona: well I better be off I have….. Work to do. It will be later today. I'll see you later then.

As she got up and headed to the door y/n called out to her she turned to him.

Y/n: like I said if you ever need anyone to talk even though we had our moment against each other I'm here for you. Stress can be bad for your baby as well.

Ronal: thank you I'll keep that in mind.

She left his place afterward y/n walked over and made sure to have his door be unable to open.

He laid back down on his bed covering his eyes. He kept thinking back to the moment when Tonowari was about to throw the spear.

*The totally real past*

Y/n: Tonowari lunches me up Maybe with enough force the spear will kill it.

Tonowari: got it.

Tonowari hit one of the mouth flaps before passing his spear to y/n and launching him up in the sky. y/n threw the spear hitting the head and killing it in one blow.

He lands on the ground and lets out a victory scream before jogging over to Tonowari

Y/n: Tonowari we did it we defeated it

But he stopped moving when he saw bit marks on his side with blood leaking out.

*back to the present*

y/n was sitting at the back behind all the other sea Navi ( ;) get it?)

He saw Tonowari family over to the side with Ronal currently at the highest point in front of the grouping giving a speech that he hadn't been paying attention to. He saw Tsireya crying into her brother's arms while Aonung had just been staring at the table that Tonowari's body was resting on.

Around his body were flowers of many different kinds wrapped around his body. y/n had left earlier to get a flower that he could place on Tonowari's body he placed the flower onto his shoulder.

y/n raised his hand in the direction of Tsireya before it fell. He didn't think it was the best moment to be helping anyone feel better, not now at least.

He heard his name being called, looking like it was ronal who called him.

Ronal: now l would like to invite someone whom Tonowari considers close to as family and he trained under his wing Y/n, please come up here.

He let out a sigh before standing up and walking over to Ronal stepping up and looking down at everyone he could see everyone from Sully's family was there as well Kiri had a look of concern.

As he stood next to Ronal she opened her arms and y/n did the same hugging each other he made sure to pat her back as well for better reassurance.

He let go of each other as she stepped down to her family. He alone was standing above them. He thought for a couple of seconds before saying anything to the group of Navi.

*everything after this is what he is saying. I just felt it would be too cluttered*

Y/n: as some of you know I arrived here with the Sully family and do you want to know the first thing I saw was…. It was that reassuring smile that Tonowari always had on his face. Even though I did not know him as long as most of you. But every time we were together he had good energy and vibes going on.

Even when he got mad he was an understanding person. He even knew the right thing to say to others to cheer people up. He was one of the best Tonowari I have ever known. One final thing I want to tell you all was me and his last conversation.

*back during their talk*

Y/n: what I'm going to tell you is that back on earth I never had my father around and what I want to say is I saw you kinda like a father figure in my life. You are someone who I have a lot of respect for.

Tonowari sat there for a moment before his usual smile appeared on his face and he placed his hand on y/n shoulder and gave a warm squeeze.

Tonowari: thank you Y/n for telling me this, especially how personal that is for you. I'm sorry to hear that your father wasn't around when you were growing up, and what I want to say Is i feel the same.

Tonowari: When you first came up to me asking about training you I felt we had a small connection which is why I took you under my wing and the more time we spent with each other I started to see you like a son. So I'm happy to hear you say that about me.

Y/n: I don't know what to say but thank you for listening to me about this and hearing what you had to say made me feel better about telling you.

Tonowari: of course and I would be happy to take you under my wing as a son of sorts. But we can talk about this when we get back.

*back to the present*

Y/n: and that's what happened he saw me as a son or sort and now for this to happen I am devastated by this.

He didn't say anything more as he walked down and headed back to his spot before heading up. He wiped away a tear that was falling down his face.

He would like to say that was what he said but he actually did say that to everyone. He sat there just listening to the rest of what everyone was saying. He felt a hand on his shoulder looking up as he saw Kiri. He gave her a small smile.

She sat down next to him. her tail wrapped around his side as she rubbed his shoulder resting her head on his shoulder. As he rests his head on top of her head.

*later*

He stood in an area as he watched the Tonowari family heading to a bright yellow area with tentacles that reminded him of Sea Anemones. They started to untie Tonowari's body from a small carrier IIu they dived under the water with his body.

All the other Navi just stood standing waiting. They came back up without Tonowari's body y/n watched her closely Ronal face even though the water was hiding it she was crying. He could tell even if others did not.

Afterward, he left heading back to his hut he just needed time to…. Get better. He plans to check up with Ronal in a couple of days and see how everyone else is doing.

Now I just want to say I have no excuse about this besides I had graduation as well as spending time with family. Also a head up to everyone I will be heading to break after the next avatar chapter
