"Should I investigate this necklace and this clan, even though it's not really my responsibility?" I asked myself with a bitter taste in my mouth. They say curiosity killed the cat, but honestly, I want to know more. I'm neither a hero nor a savior, but if a war is truly on the horizon and I can stop it, I will. However, my intervention could drag the witcher community into the conflict, which is not very appreciated, especially in this time of decline
Right now, I'm on one of the highest towers of Kaer Morhen, reflecting on all this, and also because it's a beautiful place to look at during a full
Taking the necklace out of my pocket, I held it up in front of me, once again noticing it
"What secret could you be hiding?" I murmured, curious
As I continued to reflect, watching the necklace slowly spin, suspended in my hand, the moonlight hit it and blue letters appeared in the shape of a crescent moon.
Surprised by this revelation, I quickly stood up, hitting my foot against a brick beside me. But there was no time to complain about the pain, I looked at the letters, still present, and they said:
"I coivië harma"
"What could this possibly mean?" I wondered, rubbing my head in frustration.
But suddenly, like a bolt of genius, I put the necklace in my pocket before rushing to the library. After Vesemir had finished explaining the history to us, he had given me books about this same clan to learn more. As he said, "Our life is a sea of knowledge." And then he murmured, "Don't become like Lambert and Geralt, honey traps." I had laughed at those words because Geralt was embarrassed, and Lambert, I think, would have been proud.
I arrived at the library to do some research, but at first, I couldn't find anything interesting except a book with missing pages and only one line written: "Only true werewolves know who our sacred mother is." (Try to find it before continuing to read ^^)
At first, I didn't understand because I was taking it the wrong way. I considered this book a simple book, whereas it came from this very tribe. Yes, I felt stupid because the answer was obvious.
Descending at full speed, I re-entered the library, surprising Geralt, who was studying the books. Yes, many wonder, but Geralt is quite diligent in his research, and he was helping me with this puzzle, for which I was grateful.
"Aiden, what's going on?" he asked, surprised to see my excitement.
"No time, I just found the answer," I said, running towards the book.
Taking the book I was interested in, I climbed back up the tower with Geralt following. Reaching the top of the tower, I opened the book, and suddenly, it illuminated and letters appeared on it.
Geralt, surprised by the events, looked at me, smiling like a child finding chocolate on Easter. I explained to him:
"When I was up there, letters appeared on the necklace, and it made me realize we were interpreting the puzzle the wrong way. We thought it was a normal book with a more philosophical meaning, whereas it was actually a book written by that same clan. And after that, I understood..."
Before I could finish my sentence, Geralt interrupted me.
"Only true werewolves know who our sacred mother is. They're talking about themselves because when a true werewolf is born, it's thanks to the moon, not like a human who is cursed," said Geralt, surprised by the obvious answer.
"Yes, indeed, in one of the books on werewolf characteristics, it says that the very first werewolves were born as wolves on the night of the full moon before growing and being able to walk on two legs," I said, as the letters formed, a certain excitement in my voice.
Finishing the sentence, we saw the book close, now with content on it.
"Let's go down and see what's on it," I said, in a hurry.
Geralt and I went back down to the library, placing the book on the table. We were finally able to read the content, and as we read it, we realized this was far more serious than a simple war.
"Geralt, do you see the same thing I do?" I asked, more serious and urgent.
"Yes, and it's much worse than we thought," replied Geralt, seriously.
This book talks about a rebirth of the clan, but not in the way one might think. This rebirth happens through contamination, somewhat like zombies. In reality, the book discusses a ritual aimed at transforming humans, elves, and dwarves into werewolves. Honestly, I don't know if this would work on witchers or sorcerers, but I would prefer not to try. Because of this, the spirit of the clan will be reborn, but there's a catch.
"Although it's serious, the ingredients are very difficult to find," Geralt says.
"Yes, according to the book, you need the blood of an alpha wolf, the sacrifice of a lost love, and moon flowers," I reply, citing the elements.
"A lost love?" I ask Geralt, looking at him.
"Mmh, it could refer to several types of love: familial love, passionate love, sensual love, etc. So, it's a bit controversial. Also, Aiden, don't forget that feelings are an extremely powerful force that can turn a mere specter into something extremely deadly for witchers."
"Or, for example, fire sorcerers," I say, recalling Triss and her lessons on the different types of sorcerers.
"Yes, fire sorcerers are a good example, just like some monster contracts that sometimes stem from a curse due to a too-strong feeling."
"Mmh, and also, Geralt, what are moon flowers?" I ask, as I've never found them in any botany book.
"Moon flowers are a type of flower that has gone extinct because the only way to make them grow is with genuine werewolf blood. But since the clan was massacred and the remaining werewolves are merely the result of a curse, those flowers have simply vanished. However, in texts from Vesemir's time, there should be some information about them," Geralt says, appearing thoughtful.
Staying silent again, I noticed there was one page left. As I read it, my face turned pale.
"Geralt, we have a problem," I say urgently.
He turns his gaze back to the book, reading it, and he can't help but specify why.
"We need to warn Vesemir because it's not a war that's coming, but the outright disappearance of the human race," Geralt says, sounding serious and urgent.
After saying these words, only silence returned, as I turned my gaze back to the page. I knew that a real disaster was about to unfold because this page contained instructions on how to make the collar I had retrieved from the wolf's corpse. To obtain this collar, only one element was needed: the blood of a true werewolf.
(Hello, this is your author speaking ^^
First of all, I want to thank you for your comments. You don't know how much joy it brings me to read them, and I'm very lucky to have readers like you.
Let's talk about what's coming next. As you may have noticed over the past few chapters, I'm going to delve into stories that have never appeared in the Witcher universe. I've read some excellent fanfiction about The Witcher, but few really attempt to use the principle of the conjunction of spheres. This gives me a ton of ideas. So it's normal if you don't find the Witcher story entirely intact, because if you prefer, I'm taking the Witcher narrative and blending it with my own story and ideas.
Well, I won't bother you any longer, and I wish you a good read for the next chapter. Have a great day ^^)
