A Start Of Something

I looked at the meeting between two monarch, a king and a queen, technically Gilgamesh is categorized as 'queen' as she's a female, but there's no rule a woman can't have the title 'king' as it is pretty much as just a label of how the people address a royalty with the highest rank.

Anyway, as interesting as their meeting is, I should let Salem know about my presence. I will not willingly let myself become a background character or worse a third wheel.

I mean if it's absolutely, then it's fine but at the moment it's not, so I cleared my throat when it got the attention of mostly everyone to me. "It's been a while, Ms. Ashari, you've certainly changed, since we last met."

I wasn't sure what's her relationship status with Ozma, but I'm betting she's still a divorced woman, can't see any ring in her finger, so I would call her Ms, and not Mrs.

Also for her appearance, she's quite a mess, those eyebags and messy hair, like she hasn't slept for a while.

Despite looking like someone who hasn't taken care of her appearance for weeks, she still looks good regardless.

Perks of having a beautiful face, and if you're ugly born, then you have the same appearance? You'll look uglier.

Noticing my presence and later recognizing me, filed her face with surprise. "The shop owner…?"

"That's me." I gave her a slight smile.

"Why are you here?"

Okay, that's certainly a completely normal and logical question, and I answered. "I was hired by your daughter to slay the Brother Gods."

Salem blinked a couple of times, before shouting. "W-what?!"

Completely breaking her composure, as she heard my words, and that charisma of a royalty that she had earlier was nowhere to be seen.

Gilgamesh could only raise a brow at Salem, wondering why she reacted like that.

Salem realizing how undignified her appearance, she played it off like her earlier act didn't happen. "Oh, that's surprising…"

I was speechless at this, how could she quickly change her tone and act like her earlier reaction didn't happen?

Heck, she didn't even look embarrassed!

Honestly, aside from being speechless, I'm very impressed by this action. How do I learn this kind of skill?

Shaking my head, it's better not to think about it, based on what I've seen. I don't think she'll answer if I ask about her earlier reaction.

"How did my daughter hire you? I didn't think those relics were that valuable…" Salem looked at me oddly as if she was trying to solve something, then suddenly Morgan whispered something in her ears and then her eyes lit up and later looked at me with gratefulness.

"I see…I thank you for your kindness, sir." Despite being a monarch, bowed to me.

Yep, I'm pretty sure there's some sort of misunderstanding here…

Look, I'm here for a selfish reason and certainly not here to become its savior, I just wanted to know how I fare against gods!

But there's no way I'd say that in front of everyone, and just let them think I'm doing this for kindness, even though it makes me a bit guilty.

"Save it for later, after I actually slay the Brother Gods." I responded.

Then Gilgamesh made her presence known to me. "Did you forget about this king?"

I saw her glaring at me, and quickly replied. "Of course, not your majesty, you can take care of one of the brothers, and I'll take the other one."

"Hmp, fine." Gilgamesh accepted that and calmed down.

And the others wondered, what her identity was for me, to treat her respectfully.

While they know she's royalty and a king, it wasn't enough to be treated respectfully by me, or at least what they thought.

I can't say they're wrong, but they aren't right either. I respect everyone the same, especially when they're customers. The reason why I respect Gilgamesh like this is because of one thing.

It isn't her power, I'm confident of at least putting up a good fight with her, nor the fact that she's royalty, I mean look at Salem she's a queen and I don't respect her much.

The reason is because she's a very valuable customer, she's friggin rich, she made me a millionaire in a single moment and would probably repeat in the future if I keep pleasing her.

She's basically my most valuable customer as for now, there's no way I could treat her with anything but respect, because she's my money maker!

I'd be damned if I lost my richest customer because I'm rude, that's bad for business.

"By the way, before we face the Brother Gods, is there anyone in here that needs healing?"

Salem looked surprised by that question, but regardless she nodded. "Yes, in fact there's a lot of them."

"Well then, lead me to them and I'll heal them all." Might as well do a good deed, since I felt a bit guilty of technically deceiving them with my real intention of being hired.

I should heal those who need it, since I can do something about it.

And sure, after that she leads me toward the injured.

Okay, I didn't expect this, I know she said a lot but I didn't think they were thousands of them that needed healing!

The reason why I refrain from asking questions of why there's a lot of people injured is because Morgan's explanation in the shop was pretty much self-explanatory, with aura gone, their fast regeneration is gone, making those people who have aura before the same as people who do not have it.

Also, because dust is basically useless and there's no proper equipment for a proper medical treatment, most people could only use a basic aid.

Mostly to prevent infection in their wounds, but that's it, as they are lacking a lot of things, as without proper equipment, and dust their society hits back to the era, where there was no electricity.

Anyway, whose idea was it to use dusk to power an entire civilization anyway?

Everyone knows that dust is a finite resource considering they came from the ground!

Why haven't they invented alternative ways to use energy aside from dust?

I mean, there's oil, water and even sunlight by using solar energy!

Despite their advanced technology, remnant still haven't figured out a way to find another source of energy, which is very dumb in my opinion.

Anyway, I'll complain more later for now, I will heal those who are injured, geez if I was still a magus I would have done this manually which would take too much time, thankfully I'm a magician of first, a sorcerer than could deny reality and with a snap of my finger.

Half of the universe population is dead, hehe just kidding, I ain't that powerful nor I'm insane like Thanos.

What dumbass idea was it to wipe half the population to avoid extinction?

Anyway, I healed all of the injured who were within my sight, even those who lost a limb recovered their own, and it wasn't just limited to limbs but also including all organs.

Still though, I can't believe my magic works even though this is technically an entirely different universe, my magic originated from my own universe, the root of all things.

Although that all 'things' is pretty much limited to my own multiverse.

The shop must be the reason why I can still use my abilities here and definitely won't question it, either way it's a win-win situation for me.

After I healed them, most people started thanking me for healing them and some kneeled and others prayed..?

How weird, I ignored it because mostly it doesn't do me harm, but hopefully this won't turn into something more.

Because that's crazy, shaking my head, after doing my job I left.

-A note from the future-

'And little did I know this act that I did, caused a domino effect, that caused me to have a religion of my own.

But I didn't know that yet, before it was too late'

A/N: I have to finish this chapter here, because if I didn't I would have written a long rant instead of an actual progress in the story.

Support me on P@.treon, even if it's just for a month I'd be really grateful.
